On the shores of Kealakekua Bay, a Protected Marine Conservation area, is Naiai Kai Hale (Dolphins & Sea). This home is a casual 3 bedroom/3 bath oceanfront hale. It is in a great adventure location; kayak and snorkel by the Captain Cook Monument, swim side by side with the Dolphins, hike the palis (cliffs) or just relax in the Jacuzzi, bask in the sun on the expansive oceanfront lawn and enjoy the lovely ocean view on the upstairs lanai. This Oceanfront Hale offers amazing ocean views from kitchen, great room, master bedroom and first floor ohana guest room. The Oceanfront Hale louvered doors open completely up to the oceanfront setting. It allows you to invite the warm gentle ocean breeze inside. This open and airy private hale has all the amenities one would desire for a tropical vacation. The property is surrounded by fragrant Plumeria trees and Coco Palms and includes a sun deck, hot tub and outdoor shower. You can enjoy your dinners watching the famous Kona Sunsets on the spacious lanai, which can seat 8 comfortably. The home has wireless Internet service, High Definition TV and an iPod compatible entertainment system. It is an unusual morning when the dolphins are not frolicking with swimmers and kayakers paddling across the clear waters directly off the oceanfront deck. The best and highest rated snorkeling in ALL HAWAII is found RIGHT HERE at Kealakekua Bay. Turtles make their way along the shore to rest, while stunning arrays of tropical fish accentuate the pristine coral reefs. You have direct access to the Bay for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. I am so sad we just got back...it was so cool we are going back again next year. :) What a magical trip. We were right on the ocean and the front lawn is huge. We BBQ'd on the lanai and "chillaxed" in the hot tub. It was really cool to open up the windows and let the ocean breeze blow through the house upstairs...how cool was that! Everything just pulled our attention and the ocean was in full sight all week. Loved listening to the ocean waves rolling as I drifted off to sleep every night. I was a little concerned about the possible noise issue but I slept comfortably and we didn't have any problems with people yelling. I guess the ocean was too loud LOL I really needed a break with my stressful life and my goodness gracious I had it. Now I am back to the grind and all I can think about is next year as we are going back!

My family of 6 stayed here for 8 days. The house is modern, clean, and spacious and pleasantly open to the elements. The landscaping is lovely. The waves and the birds sometimes lulled me to sleep and sometimes kept me awake. But either way the morning came with the scent of Plumeria drifting over from across the street and that was better than coffee. You can snorkel right below the property if you're careful getting into the water. There are rocks and sea urchins to avoid. Kayaks are available two doors down and you could more easily enter the bay for snorkeling there. On our final morning I spotted the dolphins leaping in the bay and we quickly got into a kayak and paid them a respectful visit. It was magical. Amma the property manager gave us a thorough introduction to the house. We didn't have any problems so we never needed to contact her. Everything about our visit was special. Even the rain. I highly recommend this property. One caveat: the street outside the gate is busy with cars and foot traffic day and night. We were awakened several times by shouting. But it didn't last long and the ocean put us right back to sleep.
