Located in Lake Winnisquam, this lovely cottage for $620 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Endless fun awaits at this classic, turn-of-the-century 4 bedroom, 3 bath knotty pine house converted from a one room schoolhouse in Laconia and moved to the western shore of Lake Winnisquam! Every room boasts panoramic views of the Belknap Mountains & lake with woodsy shorelines! Private, 300 feet of lake frontage has 2 docks: a sturdy 40-foot dock with a comfortable glider bench to watch the sun & moon rising across the lake, and a dock with a stable, dry FLOATING KAYAK-LAUNCH. There's a rowboat, canoe, 4 fast "peddle-drive" kayaks. & 6 regular kayaks. The sandy area has Adirondack chairs around the large wood firepit with flickering Tiki torches. We take pride in the Certification of our property by the National Wildlife Federation recognizing our commitment to sustainably provide essential elements of wildlife habitat: food, water, cover and places to raise young. Our acre of flowering shrubs, fruit trees, gardens, bird houses, feeders & fountains are waiting for you to enjoy!

Camp Westwood is the perfect getaway. The property feels very private. The owners have thought of everything; the kitchen is well stocked for cooking, they have boats and water toys and life jackets in every size, a grill, a fire pit complete with firewood and everything else you need. Beautiful gardens and bird feeders that brought out gold finches, a woodpecker, & hummingbirds. It is just steps to the water and you can sit on the back deck or porch and hear the sound of the lake water lapping at the rocks. Can’t say enough good things. We loved it. Great for kids. Comfy and cozy. Swimmable beach. Water was clear and shallow with a mostly sandy bottom. So perfect!

We found the house to be well maintained and very convenient for hosting our large family as the common spaces were large and comfortable. The property was beautifully landscaped and the lake and mountain views were lovely. The property owners were welcoming and friendly but not at all intrusive.
However, the property owners encourage the local ducks to come onto the dock and to the bird feeders on the property, meaning there were always ducks on the dock and around the yard, along with their duck poo. Although the owners provided a hose to wash off the deck, we found the setup to be very unsanitary and I was not comfortable letting my child touch anything. For those who have had duck itch, you know it’s better to keep your distance from the ducks.

Cheers to Debbie and Mark who rock this house on Lake Winnisquam! Their Camp Westwood would get six stars if possible. My siblings rented the house for a Celebration of Life for our 94-year old mom, and it surpassed our expectations. We rolled in on a Thursday, had to prep for the CofL on Saturday. The squirrels entertained us as they jumped from Adirondack chairs to birdfeeders. The comfortable and spacious house was just right for this event. As one of our family members said, "The house was full of so much love!" Yes. What impressed us is that Debbie and Mark had seen to every detail in the house, making it perfect for a gathering. They were an extraordinary help through an emotional time. They made us feel as if it were our home. Many of our family and friends ooh'd and ah'd over the place and asked for rental info. Loons floated by in the early morning. Songbirds serenaded us just before the sun rose. Flowering bushes surround the house, a quiet location on Lake Winnisquam. If it had been a little warmer (were there from May 17-23), we would have been swimming in the lake. Everything you need (groceries, lobster, fitness center, bar) is within a few miles. Buy your shellfish from the business at the end of Lower Bay Road next to the market. Also, we were able to hook up our computers to the living room TV for a slideshow to commemorate mom. Everything we needed was at hand. And whenever we needed help, Debbie and Mark were there. Give your family a great getaway and make Camp Westwood your next destination. You'll love it.

The home is nice, the A/C is great. The wooden doors were swollen so opening and closing one of the bedroom doors was like a wresting match. It is pricey but you don't have to worry about sheets and such which is helpful. Owners live on site which we were not aware of until shortly before our trip. They seemed like nice people and tried to make you feel like a guest. Everything seemed to go OK. Over a week later after they had another family rent they filed a claim on us to the insurance company for a broken crisper drawer in the fridge. The shelf in the fridge had issues when we got there, we didn't investigate what was the issue just stocked our food in the fridge to enjoy our vacation. It froze our food all week long and ruined any produce we had. I have not received any communication from the owners asking about the drawer before they decided to blame it on us.

Camp Westwood was what we have been looking for years and Mark and Debbie could have not been more helpful for us to enjoy it. There is more than enough of everything to keep our gang busy for the week.....we lacked nothing and even the weather worked for us, I don't know who they arranged that with! The lake house was wonderful place to stay during my daughter's wedding. Access to was easy main lake roads and the front view to Winnisquam lake was beautiful. We were very pleased with the home's space, 4 bedrooms and intriguing history. We had frequent visitors coming or staying with us during wedding with plenty of space to accommodate. Owner Debbie and Mark made our stay easy and effortless. They were very respectful of our privacy, but we could no help to invite discussion with Debbie and Mark and obtain some intruding history of the home and surroundings. They offered use of kayaks, canoe, fishing pole, etc. during our stay, which we enjoyed on lake. I would recommend the Lake House to my friends and look forward to another opportunity to return.

Camp Westwood is on a beautiful location on Lake Winnisquam with beautiful sunrises. The home is well stocked to meet the needs of just about anyone who visits. It was so nice to step out the door lakeside, and be able to walk on the dock in so few steps. There's even a bench on the dock to sit, fish, or just enjoy the views. The listing information was completely accurate. We enjoyed the tranquility, and the hospitality of the owners, Deb & Mark!

I would like to start out by thanking Mark and Debbie for being such wonderful hosts at Camp Westwood on Lake Winnisquam! Our family has rented lakehomes in New England through VRBO/Homeaway for the last five years, and we all agreed that this by far has been the best! The house had more than enough room for 8 adults and 4 children to relax and play. The house was spotless and very well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed for a week of extensive meals, including a lobster dinner for 16! The yard provided plenty of room for games and play. The lake proved to be perfect for all members of our family including the babies. The water is shallow in a large enough area that the kids felt very safe paddling around and standing on the paddleboard. The adults were able to swim, float, kayak, canoe, and paddle around in the deeper water. If we were not in the lake, we relaxed in the many adirondack chairs set around the yard or on the deck or on the dock. Every evening we ate dinner outside on the three picnic tables. At night, we sat outside under the stars and enjoyed the huge harvest moon which shone over the water. It was glorious! Mark and Debbie were available if we needed them We especially enjoyed talking about the history of the house, the area around the lake, and fishing with them. They also shared vegetables from their fantastic garden, which was a wonderful surprise. It was a wonderful week full of beautiful memories!! I would enthusiastically recommend Camp Westwood to anyone looking for a real New England lake vacation!

We have been vacationing in rental properties on Lake Winnisquam for over 15 years. This is a beautiful spot that is also convenient to many local attractions and services. The house has an interesting history--it was once a one room school house--and it reflects it. The house was very clean and well-maintained. Bathrooms were all recently updated and spotless. Lots of pinewood boards throughout with bear- and duck-themed decorations. This is more of a "camp" than a "hotel" feel. However, it was not rustic. Lots of bird feeders, birds and ducks to watch throughout our stay. The ducks will eat from your hand if offered. Our kids--ages 18-10--had a great time in the water with the kayaks and the power boat that we rented for tubing in the middle of the week. The owners are always available, which can be a forgotten plus if something goes wrong or does not work--not an issue during our stay. (In the past, we have stayed at rentals where the owners were out of state and something broke down and that was a problem.) Mark & Debbie are very attentive to the property and knowledgeable of the area. If you want to chat them up, it's easy; if you just want to be left alone, they are fine with that too.
