About this cottage rental
Nestled in Sodus Point, this charming cottage for $94 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. A Little Peace at the Point is the perfect size for a couple or a small family. Stay with us for your visit or vacation. Saturday to Saturday weekly rentals in summer, generally 2 day minimum the rest of the year. We rent YEAR ROUND. ***Book now for 2019*** This totally renovated cottage is located among 1900's cottages and just steps from everything at the Point. This sweet little abode began life in the early 1900’s as a seasonal cottage, and a few years ago was winterized and now hosts travelers year round. Mature shade trees and a wonderful lake breeze keep you cool in the summer. **The cottage is well insulated and if needed the window AC Unit works great even on the hottest of days** Fans are also provided. Natural gas heat keeps you toasty warm and cozy in the colder months. The family room has a large couch(NEW 2017 sleeper) and a love seat and armchair. A Flat screen TV with built in Blu-Ray player with cable and free Wi-Fi, Google Chromecast is also provided. The newly renovated kitchen features all new appliances, cabinets and finishes. If you want to cook, the kitchen is ready for you with complete cookware and dinnerware. A microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, and a blender are included too. An outside gas grill is also provided. There is one bedroom, with a queen bed *NEW 2018 Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress*. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room that sleeps 2 *NEW 2017*as well as a pullout queen sleeper sofa in the sleeping porch. *** LINENS and towels provided The bathroom is all new, and includes a tub/shower unit. *** LINENS and towels provided. Bring your own beach towels. ***Please note there is to be NO SMOKING in The Cottage*** Step outside and enjoy seating out back, with a beautiful view of the park and the water just a few steps away. There is a NEW 2018 WEBER gas grill, table and chairs. A firepit is also provided (firewood is available in town). A short 5 minute walk across the park brings you to the restaurants and clubs on the Point. A 2 minute walk from the front door takes you to the lake beach where campfires are permitted. The Public beach is just down from there as well. And there is plenty to do nearby…Sodus Point is a dining, boating and fishing mecca. There are 2 lighthouses, a museum (free summer Sunday concerts on the lawn 2PM), fishing pier, several marinas, boat rentals, charter fishing boats, 2 playgrounds, skate park, ball field, really nice public beach(with lifeguards), multiple restaurants (open late), ice cream stands, gift shop, church, and convenience market. Favorites on The Point: The Bay Street, Franklin House, Six50, Marlin's and the ever popular Capt. Jacks. Take a 10 minute drive west to our hometown, Pultneyville, and you’ll find the Pultneyville Deli & Up Pub, The Pultneyville Harbor Grille, an Art Gallery, museum, antique shop, churches, and beautiful Pultneyville Harbor. Palmyra is 25 minutes south.

Total miss representation of property! Nothing like the pictures on your site! House is in poor shape with floors sagging, dirty inside! Wires for Tv’s hanging everywhere and plugged into extension cords! Towels and linens stained, curtains on windows dirty and stained! Mattress in bedroom stained! Furniture different than pictures on your website! Masking tape and foil holding pieces of pocket doors together! Bathroom throw rug was disgusting! A lot of nerve charging a cleaning fee and then stating to wash floors and scrub surfaces before checking out! I have used Vrbo before but after this experience I will look elsewhere!!!

Cottage was exactly as represented on VRBO. It was clean, equipped for our needs (kitchen, tv, etc). The location was perfect for beach, restaurants, no need for a car. We walked everywhere which was a major plus for us! Thoroughly enjoyed our week stay

Great location
Had a great time there.The huge tree out back provided plenty of shade. It was a little warmer than I wanted, coming from Florida.Mid to upper 80's and humid.The last few days it cooled down somewhat. The place is nearly 100 years old and had with it the associated plumbing caveats. With the heat we had the wall unit AC cranking the entire 7 days.It held up pretty well with the ceiling fan. To scale it on 1 to 10 I would give it give it a solid 8.Based mostly on the location .

Relax at the point
After a worry some weekend at the hospital with our niece we finally could get away on Monday. It was easy to locate and relaxing to just sit back and rest. Very nice cottage and well decorated. Kitchen was great and bed very comfortable for us. 250 steps to the beach and we visited very often. Our son enjoyed the lake too. We want to come back next year and enjoy the area more.

The bathroom has mold issues. When I sent the owners a message I regards to these issues, they replied that they don't get in there ALL SUMMER to clean because it is booked solid. Now mind you, I had already reached out to them on their cleaning procedures prior to our stay there because of covid-19. I was very shocked that they flat out lied to me about the covid-19 cleaning standards.

Great Little Place close to home...
We've just got back from Sodus Point and a week in this really nice little cottage. Everything was exactly as described so only good surprises. Best things - proximity to the beach (I couldn't stop calling it 'the ocean' because that lake is enormous), renting a pontoon boat for a morning (I strongly suggest doing this if you don't have your own boat). We rented from Krenzer Marine (2-minute walk from the house) and it was just under $300 for 4 hours with tax, credit card fee, gas, etc. We had a blast chugging around the bay, anchoring, and swimming. The Bay Bridge Sports Shop also rents pontoon boats but they were fully booked. Much cheaper than Krenzer, according to their website. Just behind the house, there's a large field that leads you to the village. The back of the house has the benefit of being overlooked by a humungous tree that provides nice shade over the yard and firepit. Chimney Bluff State Park is close and well worth a visit - a great swimming spot. You can boat there on a calm day which would be fun. All around a great vacation in a nice house.

Perfect "COVID" getaway
Everything at this cottage was perfect, from the location to everything that was available for use in the cottage. Walking distance to beach, park and restaurants. Also a short drive to several State Parks. Our grandchildren age 4 and 5 had a wonderful time and did not want to leave at the end of the week. Will definitely stay at this cottage again.
