About this house rental
Elegantly restored and authentically decorated 2 story Victorian home built in 1895 in the downtown historic district.
Walking distance to cafes, art galleries, museum and quaint shops. Gateway to the best fishing River in CA and to the Trinity Alps wilderness hiking. Includes 5 completely renovated rooms, (1 which is ADA compliant), with 4 bathrooms, parlor, dining room and kitchen. Has WiFi, satellite TV (in 2 guest rooms and 1 in the parlor) with central AC/heat.
We have a friendly orange marmalade cat named Ellie who loves to greet our guests when they arrive. Please note that she isn’t allowed in the the property, so you can enjoy your stay comfortably even if you prefer a pet-free space.
There is a lovely covered veranda overlooking a large beautifully landscaped yard with surrounding lawn, plenty of room to set up outdoor games for kids, bar-b-que area with 1 gas grill and 1 charcoal grill, a nice view of the mountains with a fountain.
There is plenty of parking with a paved lot along with space for an RV with electric/water hookup behind it.
Perfect for events such as family reunions, private parties, weddings/ receptions and retreats for small and large groups. Outdoor lawn can accommodate seating for 100 people.

Beautiful vintage house with charming decor. It was everything I was looking for. Close to everything, peaceful and beautiful grounds. Ellie the property cat was a pleasant companion who would join us in the parlor during our after dinner gatherings. Great value and I definitely would recommend it. I plan on staying there again next year.

I stayed with 3 friends for a steelhead fishing weekend. The house worked out fine and we enjoyed Rascal the cat. The living room could use a bit more furniture to make it more comfortable for having snacks and wine/beer. Overall, it was a nice place to stay.

I was raised surrounded by art and culture. The Whitmore Inn is like living in a Victorian painting. Every nuance was beautiful, from the color accents to the layers of curtains, candy dishes on the tables, unbelievably fabulous pieces of unique antique furniture, bedding, etc. The surrounding yard is beyond comparison and the extended porch was an entire other level of classy living space. However, beyond the physical beauty, the proprietor was total class herself. Water was always available in the refrigerator, the continental breakfast was just enough food, coffee excellent and plentiful. If you feel life is ever drab, one night in this beautiful estate will make you feel like royalty, as in fact you are treated like you are. I have stayed in many Inns and this was the absolute best. Thank you, Noelle. Never could guests be treated better.
