A: Yes, Mitchell's Point marina is about 2 miles away, they rent pontoon and ski boats Q: Why are guests required to bring their own linens, sheets and towels? A: Nearly all guests prefer to bring their own for convenience and cost savings. Same for trash bags, paper products etc. Q: Can you supply linens, sheets and towels for an extra fee? A: No, but there are linen services there who are happy to arrange that for you. Q: Is there anything nearby - stores, wineries, restaurants, marinas etc.? A: Yes! The White House store-snack bar-gas station is about 6 miles away. Hickory Hill Vineyards and Ramulose Ridge Vineyards are about 11 miles away, and Mitchell's Point marina & restaurant about 2 miles away. Many others a little further. Q: What's the nearest channel marker? Where is the house located on the lake? A: The nearest channel markers are R1 and W1, which are close to the dam and the largest, deepest part of the lake. Shorewood Cove is in the Mountain View Shores neighborhood southeast of the State Park. The house is in a quiet cove and close to the best fishing, boating, and water sports area on the entire lake. Q: I love to fish, drink beer, and lie about both. Do I need a fishing license? A: It depends. If you fish from private property then you do not need a fishing license. If you fish from a boat, then you need a fishing licence. Licenses can be purchased at the local marinas, some stores, and the state park. Beer is sold at marinas, stores and groceries - please enjoy responsibly. Lying is expected, that's why they call it fishing instead of catching.

Our group of 6 adults stayed for our yearly reunion at 110 Shorewood. John & Michelle, the owners were great to communicate with, the property was in a beautiful setting within a quite lakefront cove perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing! We had a really big one get away,,,no really we did !! Should have had the net ready. The kitchen had everything you need and then some, there was plenty of seating in the living areas, the beds were comfy cozy, bathrooms clean, and a perfect view of the lake from the screened in porch, balcony or the high dock. The lake water was crystal clear and fairly warm for a mountain lake. Kayaking and paddle boarding off of the dock was a breeze, and floating on a noodle even easier. We highly recommend this property for any active water loving group, or just to relax, read a book in the quiet of nature, and watch the deer walk by.

This was a wonderful vacation stay for us. The house had everything we could need: kayaks, paddle boards, ping-pong, multiple decks. We had three-generations of family with three teens and had a great time. House was super clean and the hosts were wonderful and very attentive. Would highly recommend!

This house was really nice in all the right areas. Private with some action in the cove, just enough. The view from the upper deck is very nice. The house was very clean. The mattresses were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was like being in my own, very well supplied in every category! It was overall a very relaxing stay. I would definitely book this spot again!

This was our first time visiting Smith Mountain Lake and we had a great time. The house was in a great location, comfortable, and well equipped for our family of 5. Having access to the kayaks and paddle boards was a huge benefit and one of the reasons we initially chose to stay here. Our favorite place was to spend time was the screened porch when we weren’t out on the boat or playing in the water. There is a close by marina for boat rentals that also has a restaurant and ice cream. We also enjoyed an impromptu fishing trip with the neighbor. We will be back for sure!
