Exactly as represented, and AWESOME!

Olde Blue is filled with beach charm, and the owners were excellent t to work with. The dolphin room sleeps a lot of people! Beach is a short walk, kitchen is well-stocked, and a lot of conveniences in the immediate vicinity. Can’t wait to return to this place in the future!

Olde Blue was an amazing and ideal spot for our family. Plenty of room, great location. Donna was so helpful and caring throughout the whole booking process as well as very accommodating. We haven’t had a real vacation in a long time. This was a much needed family vacation. The weather was also beautiful our entire stay. Can’t wait to book again for next year. This will definitely be our choice of homes.

We had a wonderful time on our vacation. We enjoyed the house, and the outdoor shower was awesome. A little walk to the beach, but not bad at all. We loved the screened in porch and sat out there most of the time when not at the beach. I would definitely recommend.

This house was perfect for our large family to spread out in. It had everything you would ever need or may have forgotten at home! We loved all three porches, the lighting, and best of all.....the amazing outdoor shower!

We all had a great time. The house is in a laid back area which made it very relaxing. It is close to the beach and was very clean.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Olde Blue (Aug 15-22). We got rained out the night we got there and the next day, but we got lucky with great weather the rest of the week! The house was very clean, and the bedding was very comfortable and clean. The inside of the house looked prettier in person than in the pictures.The layout of the house is wonderful, with the nice open living, dining and kitchen space. So even though Olde Blue might not be the largest of homes, we could not have asked for a more spacious and comfortable home given the layout and number of bedrooms! We were a total of 4 adults, 5 children, and our sweet dog. The 5 kids slept in the Dolphin room, which is the biggest with 2 queen beds plus 2 twin bunk beds. The children loved the bunk beds and watching shows on the TV in the Dolphin room at the end of their beach days! The adults spread out amongst the 3 other rooms. The kitchen was very well stocked on pots, pans, utensils etc. There were also extra dog bowls available in the house. We really enjoyed having our morning tea/coffee on the screened in porch, and loved sitting out on the deck. The outhouse shower was a life saver! It has a strong shower head and hot water. We used it a lot more than the inside shower especially after returning back from the beach to wash off all the sand. We crated our dog comfortably in the house while we were at the beach, and when we were home, she had plenty of space to run around in the large yard (unfenced - so you'll need to keep an eye on your dog as Park Rd can get busy). We had brought our own Dog crate, but I noticed that there was an extra crate available in one of the closets. The walk to the beach is an actual 3 minutes. (So you'll be touching waves within 3 mins). The other families at the beach were all vacationing the same week as us, and our dog socialized with the other dogs. There was plenty of space on the beach to spread out from other families. We ordered take out from Lisa'sPizza, Waves Deli, Waterman's Grill, Sheila's Kitchen, Alex's Shack, and Blue Whale. We also did a bonfire right on the beachone night (can be purchased with a permit from the Blue Whale).Also - try Kayaking on the Sound side. It is a lot of fun (Hatteras Water Sports Rentals in 2 mins from the house). Donna was absolutely wonderful to communicate with. I felt like we knew each other even though we had never met. She answered questions very promptly and sent clear instructions on closing procedures. Over

Property was great, as advertised. Owner was easy to get hold of and communicated politely and well. Excellent place for a family. We very much enjoyed our stay, close walk to the beach!

This is our first time in the Outer Banks. I am sure we did not get the full experience during this pandemic, so we will have to come back again :). We came down with the understanding that we will be isolating ourselves as much as possible and this was a fantastic place for relaxing quietly. We only got take out 3 times, but all three were great (Lisa’s pizza, burritos from the waves store, and seafood from Surf’s Up Seafood store). The rest of the time, we cooked at the house and it was great how many pots/pans/spices were stocked at the house. It felt like home for ease of cooking. There were 5 of us and the house had tons of room to spread out. There was a lot more sleeping space than we needed and the kids ended up each taking their own bedroom to sleep in, so there was zero fighting about who got to sleep where. It apparently rained a lot the week before we came, so mosquitoes were insane. Luckily, the Food Lion in Avon had dog safe bug spray (Maggie’s Farm) because our short haired dog looked like he went a few rounds in the boxing ring after the evening walk and needed Benadryl cream for itching. We sprayed him down with the safe bug spray after that and he was fine on the walks. The other dog has a double coat and was not bothered at all. We found the Salvo Day Use Area less than a mile away down the road on one of the dog walks and that beach is amazing! We came back for about half our beach time. The water is super warm, only about knee deep for miles, has little fish and is pretty clear. We stopped at wings and got stuff to float on, brought our snorkeling stuff and had a blast. We even found a bunch of large clams one day. On days when the kids wanted the true ocean experience, the regular beach is 3 minutes away walking as well. Those waves were rough and we all got wiped out a few times. Still lots of fun. The Salvo Day Use Area has bathrooms and outdoor rinsing showers (both tall and knee high), so we did not bring back sand. Even the dogs loves to wade around there and i was able to rinse them off before heading back. For regular beach days, the outdoor shower at the house was awesome for washing off the sand and not bringing it into the house. I was impressed how well we were able to social distance away from others at both beaches. The beaches were not packed, we stayed 6/27- 7/3. I highly recommend! The hosts are very nice too! We would definitely come back!

Wonderful cottage that lives much bigger than what it seems like it would. We enjoyed that they were not a lot of steps also! property owner was very friendly and easy to deal with. Thank you for sharing Olde Blue with us!

Even know it rained our whole trip we still had an amazing time! Thank you for letting us check in early and thank you for all your help! The house was perfect for us and the littles loved the bunk beds and the covered porch. The house was clean and welcoming and the walk to the beach was a short walk. The kids loved to rain puddles on the road to the beach. Oh and thank you for your help with recooperation.

Our stay here was great, the house was in a good spot for the beach and the yard was a nice size for backyard games. The single story setup was nice for the kids and our 12yr old Lab. We had eleven people in our group and with the open concept and layout, it never seemed cramped. The breeze kept the place very comfortable (for May). Donna was very accommodating with all aspects of our stay.

You can’t beat the walk to the beach and local landmarks such as the Island Creamery and Blue Whale. The house is comfortable and beachy. The owners are very accommodating and personable !

We had an awesome time at “Olde Blue”. The proximity to the beach was amazing and the house was perfect for our family. When we weren’t on the beach, we enjoyed playing in the yard and walking our dog around the quiet neighborhood. The house layout was great with the kids all on one side, and the dolphin room with its own TV was perfect for our teenager. The outdoor shower was great for cleaning off our little ones after a day at the beach. Working with Donna was easy and she was always quick to respond when I had questions. We highly recommend “Olde Blue”.

My sister and I stayed with our eight children in Olde Blue this past week. The rental was immaculately clean which is always a big plus for me. Our children delighted in the whimsical decor - each room has a different beach theme. This beach house could not have been any cuter! Donna was very easy to work with throughout the rental process. I highly recommend Olde Blue to anyone interested in exploring this wonderful area of The Outer Banks. We all had a great time!

From start to finish working with Donna was a breeze. She is very friendly and accommodating! On check-in day, despite a power outage on the whole island, Donna still had the property spotlessly clean and ready for check-in early. The house is adorable, truly the pictures don't do it justice. The layout was a great surprise, one bedroom is completely separate from the other 3 which was perfect the different sleep schedules in our party. Grandparents on one side, kids, parents, aunts and uncles on the other. The walk to the beach is truly 3 minutes. It is a challenge lugging your gear through the dunes but once you get through there is a huge beach with very few people. The beach is dog friendly and seeing the dogs running around and into the waves was such a treat! The outdoor shower is incredible! All of the kids and some adults showered there. It's extra big and easily accommodated an adult and 2-3 kids, plus the showerhead was wonderful! The kitchen is fully stocked and has absolutely everything you could need. My only critique is that the AC units in the living room and kitchen aren't quite big enough for the space. At dinner time and in the evening when the house was full and people were cooking and hanging out they couldn't quite keep the temperature down. That being said, the AC in the bedrooms was nice and cool and made nights comfortable! Overall our experience was fantastic. You truly get your money's worth, and then some, staying at Olde Blue!

Our family of four absolutely loved our time at Olde Blue. All the comforts of home and super close to the beach. Can't wait to come back for another visit! ❤️

Great house. Nice kitchen and plenty of sitting areas. Big patio both screened in and open. A little ways walk to beach that was a little tough with lots of chairs and beach stuff to carry but not too bad. Will stay again. Thanks for the beach get away!

The home was perfect for our family, the owners (Donna) not sure of the husbands name but they were great. We had a lot of uncertainties about our stay due to Hurricane Florence but Donna stayed in contact with us the entire time and was able to confirm her home was good to go for our stay. I would highly recommend staying in Old Blue if you and your family are planning a trip to OBX. The home has plenty of room and was everything that was advertised. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds and the pirate room was a big hit. The adults enjoyed the screened in porch and easy access to the beach. This was our first experience using VRBO and we couldn’t be more happy. Thanks again. The Townsends

We all really had a lot of fun and relaxation. The kids really loved the outside shower I don’t think they ever used the inside one. We loved the beach it was a very clean beach
