This was a beautiful secluded property that was ideal for a weekend getaway for me and my husband. We were close to Franconia Notch and got to enjoy the beauty that autumn in New Hampshire has to offer. We really enjoyed the coziness of the cabin and the view of the lake from the dock was gorgeous. We are talking about coming back in the summer with our sons to take advantage of the great swimming area.

Great rustic cabin to stay for a weekend at squam. Very cozy and quiet. Great place on the lake and beautiful dock. Classic squam experience.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage is located fairly central to the lake, set back from the shore a bit and very private. Center Harbor is quite close, which is a big plus for grocery runs, etc. Use of the dock, the canoe, and high speed internet were extra nice. The kitchen was well equipped as far as VRBOs go, but a little frustrating at times. We wish the cookware, plates, tools, etc. were more curated and better organized. Overall, we had a great time here. The place was fun and met our needs. We'd recommend!

This was the loveliest trip, despite rainy weather- but I can’t imagine a better place to spend lazy, rainy days than this cabin. The house is a dream if you are looking for a cozy, rustic, well-cared for home with history and character. It was perfect for our family of four, returning to a lake that means a lot to our family. So peaceful, so much beauty.

Surrounded by woods and birdsong, this funky A-frame provided a wonderful retreat for my daughter and me. We set chairs on the dock and watched loons and ducklings swim by, mountains in the distance and beautiful sunsets. Swimming in the clear water was great. The house has some steep ladder-like stairs to the second floor but is really cozy with a well-stocked kitchen and a nice stone fireplace. We loved our stay at Squam.

Everything a camp should be. Comfortable beds, amazing (wow really) water pressure, open floor plan, massive dining table. Dock a view of paradise. Eagles, loon, and just a few tourists during the crazy autumn season. Loved all the nostalgia of hanging at a vintage house when we were kids, but with our kids. Would readily return. Happiest when everyone else seems to appreciate what a treasure the teepee is. Go Big Red!

I'd give it six stars if I could. One of the most untouched waterfronts and lake views you'll see. We swam, paddleboarded, biked, kayaked, and hiked, all of which were amazing, especially the water sports. It's hard to describe the beauty of this part of Squam in late summer - early foliage, rainbows, almost no boat traffic, loons, pristine shoreline, majestic islands with the Squam Range and Mt Chocorua looming behind. The A-frame is old school with all you need for the time not spent on the lake. In a word....stunning.
