About this house rental

Come stay at this large, secluded property for a relaxed, PEI-style vacation. Overlooking Cascumpec Bay, the property was built in 2009 and sleeps up to 11 people with 4 bedrooms containing 4 queen beds and a bunk bed. With a large yard in the back and a gradual slope down to the beachfront, there is tons of space for activities, bonfires or go down to the beach and get dirty digging some clams! The large screened-in deck or open patio are great for drinking hot coffee in the morning or watching the sunset with a cold beverage in the evening. During the day, this relaxing space is great to watch kids play in the yard or watch the bald eagles and ospreys dive for fish out front. This oceanfront property is only a 10 minute drive from the town of Alberton, or a 20 minute drive from the town of O’Leary, with one of the top rated golf courses in between. *Important notes* - There are shells on the beach and water shoes are recommended - The easiest way to find the cabin is to type "134 Spruce Way, O'Leary PE" into Google Maps - DRIVE SLOWLY ON THE WAY INTO THE CABIN AS THERE ARE LOTS OF CHILDREN PLAYING IN THE AREA - Although you are somewhat secluded, be conscious of noise in the evenings as we do have neighbors that absolutely must be respected and noise travels on the water. - Have fun! Everything was exactly as described and more. We were provided everything we could have wanted and then some to make our stay enjoyable. It was so nice to be able to relax in such a comfortable and welcoming space.

We enjoyed our visit. Especially eating in the sun room overlooking the water nightly. We even saw a boat parade of lights and fireworks one night on the water.

My family and guests were very pleased with this VRBO property. The home was as expected, and very suitable for 2 families to share. We enjoyed eating upstairs, downstairs and outside. The kitchen had everything we needed and we especially enjoyed sitting outside on the patio around the fireplace and under the milky-way. Sometimes the upstairs got a little warm and the mosquitos outside were a nuisance, but this was easily managed. There is a heat-pump in the basement. We saw lots of wildlife, found oysters in the Mill River, canoed and kayaked, and slept very well. We picked up groceries in Summerside and Alberton, had a nice feed of lobster (from Royal Star Foods) that we cooked outside; and found the best cinnamon buns at MJ's Bakery and Caboose Cafe in Tignish. St. Felix Golf Course nearby is a great casual course to play 9-holes, especially when you have kids playing golf as well. The kids enjoyed the Prince County Fair and the 80-min drive to Cavendish on a few days was worth it. The ride back always seemed faster and the kids were often quiet and resting in the back. Whenever you get a chance to enjoy Cow's Icecream - it's a must. And don't forget a plate of Chips with the Works at the Huntley Horizon and the Lobster Reuben Sandwich at the Northport Pier is also very good.

Our family of 10 from grandparents to grandkids, had a wonderful week staying here! The house was very clean, spacious, and was equipped with all the essentials needed. It is about an 1.5 hour drive from Charlottetown and we felt like we were in our own quiet cottaging area. There was to explore in the little towns nearby and definitely lots of great PEI beaches! The shore directly in front of the home was impacted by the 2022 hurricane and they have done a lot to get the shore restored. The water was a little less swimmable than we anticipated but still great for beach combing, oyster digs and boating. Alet and Layton were very responsive hosts and provided lots of great tips about spots to stop and see!

It's very hard to summarize just how beautiful this home is and the feeling you get when you spend such quality time with your family. It was off the beaten path but well worth the drive. The home offered us all we can ask for from an amazing host, plenty of room to live to a deck with an amazing view of the water. Absolute serenity!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We were 10 adults/kids and the property is so spacious that it never felt crowded. The front beach had lots of fresh oysters and we had some every day. It’s a short drive to Alberton and Northport where you can find great restaurants, a drugstore and a grocery store, PEI liquor. There was a great beach 25 minutes from the cottage down route 12 and you turn right on Donahue road. The cottage is 40 minutes from summerside. We loved our stay, the cottage is beautiful and our hosts checked on us a few times and everything went well. We highly recommend this property and hope to return soon. Thank you for making our vacation even more special. José.
