About this cottage rental
Situated in Halifax, this lovely cottage for $185 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Situated directly on Prospect Bay, this sweet little oceanfront cottage has recently been renovated, and is waiting for you to write, swim, kayak, canoe or just relax. Conveniently located 25 minutes to downtown Halifax, 25 minutes to Peggy's Cove, 10 minutes to kayak tour and rental company, and 10 minutes from popular breathtaking hiking trail. Also centrally located to various other Nova Scotia attractions. Golf courses are nearby and do have clubs for rent. Open concept kitchen/living area. Downstairs bedroom has double bed, and spacious upstairs loft sleeps 3 (Queen bed and twin bed tucked on other side of for younger child). Fully equipped kitchen has new cooktop and oven, microwave and full size refrigerator. No cable TV but WIFI and DVD player with selection of movies. Clean and comfy - as well as everything you need for a restful holiday, writing or personal retreat, or a base camp for a sight-seeing holiday of Nova Scotia. Oceanside deck has table & chairs for morning coffee or dining as well as a fire pit with large seating area. Back deck has propane BBQ. Smoking outside only please. Please check with us PRIOR to booking if you are travelling with a pet. Some limitations may apply. (A pet fee of $100.00 per pet / $50.00 each additional) will be added to your reservation; you must indicate that you are travelling with pets when you make your reservation). Property managers live nearby should there be anything at all that you might be missing!

Beautiful area and very peaceful. driving distance to Halifax Harbor and Peggy's cove. About an hour to Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. Cottage very clean and quaint, fully equipped, right on the water. Marcia the host, very kind and friendly.

We loved our week-long stay at this beautiful little cottage. Marcia’s attention to detail and smart utilization of the space creates a comfortable, peaceful spot just perfect for a couple or small family.
I miss having my morning tea at the water with visits from the cove’s local crane (or is it a heron?) and again by the fire to ward off the evening fog’s gentle chill.
For now, I’ll look forward to the day we return.

Character home with lots to do around, close to halifax, lovely hosts, house stocked with everything you need. Had a great stay with my toddler and husband for our first trip to Nova Scotia. Would definitely recommend! Nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city.

Very cozy little cottage on the ocean and close to Halifax, Lunenburg and Peggy’s cove. Cottage has EVERYTHING you need and the views are great. If you like privacy, this is it. The Property Manager was very helpful as we had never been in area.

This little cottage was the perfect ending to our east coast vacation. Short and scenic drive to Lunenberg, Mahone Bay, Peggy’s Cove, Halifax, and so much more. The cottage had everything we needed, and the outside patio/fire pit area is stunning. We were fortunate to have some beautiful weather and spent all of our ‘home’ time outside watching the bay. Thank you Marcia, we hope to return.

Everything was perfect! The location was ideal right on the water, quaint cottage that was well equipped and Marcia and John were very helpful in every way. The bed was comfy and the shower had good pressure. We don’t want to leave but we will be back!

We all loved this cozy and well appointed “cottage”. Water view from the front room, second floor setting area and outdoor patio were all amazing. Location great - close to both Halifax and Peggy’s Cove and yet very quiet.

Coastal cottage was charming. It's a sweet cottage with a very comfortable layout with a bedroom downstairs and a bed in the loft. The kitchen was more complete than expected with a full stove and very well equipped. The location feels very private overlooking the cove. It's also convenient for nearby hikes, kayak rentals and day trips to Peggy's Cove, and the Bay of Fundy. Marcia has made this a cozy, charmer. Everyone we meet was so nice. Thank you.

We had a lovely time. Marcia is a wonderful host, and if you need something, her response is very quick. My concern is always cleanliness, and I must admit I was not disappointed. Amazingly unique and charming place
We absolutely loved our stay. The host was very attentive to all of our requests and everything was better than we even hoped. The location is very quiet and the cottage was very well equipped. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again. While staying here please go and eat at Shawn’s Landing. It is the greatest food we had.

Amazing House and View, Amazing Host
Where do we start ? With Marcia of course, what a wonderful host, we just wanted to wrap her up and bring her home and live next door to her forever. And John as well, funny, helpful when needed, just a nice guy. The house was great, fantastic view just out the back door on the 'terrace'. A sweet, quiet, comfortable little house, everything you need to relax and soak in the sane Canadian air. Well-located to explore the various highlights of Nova Scotia. Two small markets nearby, Halifax in less than 30 minutes. Oh, and Marcia. Did I mention Marcia ? Friendly, helpful, unobtrusive, a delight to talk with, a genuine good soul. From car batteries to surprise boat rides (Oh. My. God.) to rappie pie recipes (must get an old hen soon) to the High Head trail. Thanks for the books, Marcia, thanks for the view, thanks for a wonderful two weeks, and as Mr Rogers used to say, thanks for just being you. TLDR, we loved it all !

Great stay at the little cottage by the water. Loved our evening fires and morning coffee by the water. Nice and central for day trips and hikes. Marcia and John are wonderful hosts that took great care of our needs. Well stocked for preparing meals in the cute kitchen.

Excellent spot and host!
This is such a cute, quant property with great attention to detail and needs. The unique decor is characteristic of the rich history of Nova Scotia and the surrounding area with all the modern amenities. The view over Prospect Bay is gorgeous, especially around the fire, with the moonlight reflecting off the water on cool evenings. This is a good central location for access to Halifax and Peggy's Cove (both approx. 1/2 hr -45 min drive). The NCC hiking trail, just minutes from the cottage, is great!!... with breathtaking views along the rugged, cliff -edged Atlantic coast...a must see!! We also went on a whale watch at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy (3.5 hrs drive but well worth it...followed a pod of 5 humpbacks just yards rom our Zodiac!!)
Our host Marcia was wonderful, offering any assistance we may need during our stay as she lives close to the cottage herself. We immediately felt at home, like family coming in for a visit!

Lovely family getaway
What a peaceful location for a family get together! We thoroughly enjoyed the view of the water and sipping our morning coffee while watching the ducks. The fire pit was a great place to gather in the evening. This lovely cottage is well equipped and in a fabulous location.

A Little Piece of Paradise outside of Halifax
This beautiful cottage was a perfect place for my husband and myself to stay during the week of our youngest son's wedding. The preparation time, the day of and then a few days after. It was so wonderful to be able to leave the business of the city and the festivities, to come to the calmness of the cottage and be soothed by the beautiful view of the Bay. The owners were wonderful and responded very quickly to any question or help that we needed. We were able to have our kids out for some meals and all of us had a wonderful and relaxed visit after 19 months of separation. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed. The cottage itself is so pretty and had everything that we needed and then some. We loved the outside area and used it a lot when we were there. Perfect distance from Halifax and as I said before it was always so nice to get out of the city back to the natural beauty and peace that surrounds the cottage. We will definitely be back.

This cottage is clean, cozy and adorable. Very well stocked with anything you could need. We cooked all our meals and made use of the nice Weber bbq. Enjoyed the selection of books (there are dvds as well but we didn’t turn on the tv once). Fire pit out back is cozy for evenings. Neighbors are very friendly. Marcia is a wonderful hostess, very responsive to any requests. Pictures, especially of the back of the cottage and the waterfront, really don’t do this place justice. Can’t wait to return!

They have everything that you will need. Marica is very easy to get ahold of. The area in the loft is beautiful. Every evening we were up there watching movies. Beautiful view of the moon on the bay.
