About this house rental
Located high above Twin Lakes, our river rock and log-style Mountain House overlooks several of Colorado's 14'ers, including Mt. Elbert (the highest peak), Parry Peak and Mount Hope. A short walk up the hill behind us reveals Mount Massive. Our property is adjacent to two empty lots including national forest service land, giving the illusion of being the only house on the mountain. The house sleeps 10 in easy comfort. The upper floor offers a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and walk-in closet, a bedroom with bunk beds, a full bath, laundry room and loft area overlooking the lake/mountain view. The main floor includes two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with a trundle, a full bath, kitchen and living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a wood-burning fireplace. While we’ve elected to forego the cable, we do offer WI-FI and there is an entertainment center which includes a Smart TV to stream your favorite movies, DVD, VCR, CD player. The walk-out basement boasts a finished game room with foosball, ping pong, shuffleboard, and pop-a-shot basketball. The bedroom on this floor contains two queen-sized beds and a carpeted floor and the best view! Full bath included as well as a utility room with a full-sized refrigerator/freezer. You’ll want 4WD or AWD to handle the hills, dirt roads and occasional slippery weather.

The property was excellent and the hosts were easily the most attentive hosts I’ve ever had. We had the added experience of a wild fire starting a few miles away the day we checked in and they were in communication upon check in. Just a simple text that provided direct communication in the event things deteriorated. Things did not and we got to enjoy all the days & nights we booked. They are very knowledgeable in all things Leadville and surrounding trails and enhanced the stay with their suggestions.

Oh, the view! I can’t think of many better ways to begin or end your day, than looking out that view. This was our first big family road trip, and the house worked perfectly for us. Everything was clean and well-prepared. We had plenty of room to spread out, and we definitely took advantage of the movie and game collections. The area is wonderful as well. We spent a fun day in Leadville shopping and had a great lunch. We hiked to Interlaken Resort and soaked in some history. Lots of great memories made. I would highly recommend staying here!!

This house was perfect for our 2 family vacation. The home was clean, well stocked with all the essentials, and centrally located between the Hot Springs near Buena Vista, the slopes of Ski Cooper and the old mining town of Leadville. The view off the back deck may be the best that VRBO has to offer. The game room was a hit with the kids and adults, it was a bonus on top of everything else that was great about this house. Carrie was quick to respond to messages and worked well with us from the moment we booked until we checked out. Highly recommend this home to anyone considering staying in the area and we certainly plan on returning in the future.

The front door code took about 20 minutes to get it to work; Stove top burner was difficult to turn off, Deck railing we found to be dangerous, Heavy smell of sewer once in a while, Patio door is hard to move. The view was awesome.Thank you.
