Owner Larry has done a top-rate job providing the things (big and small) you might need to enjoy your time, not just in the condo, but outside activities as well. Truly thoughtful and a delightful surprise. I appreciated the full-size refrigerator and the comfortable chairs on the lanai. The condo location is fabulous; walkable to so much and situated perfectly in the beautiful complex. I never used the AC - just open the doors and the tropical breeze does the rest (with a ceiling fan assist). It was a good way to acclimate to Hawaii weather. Larry's decor is eclectic and charming. He provided nice, fluffy towels, fresh shower curtain, and all the basics I needed. If I ever come back to Kona, I hope Larry's place is available because I would love to stay here again.

Great location, very quiet, clean, with great AC. I enjoyed my stay!

Nothing fancy but clean and close to everything in town. Nothing better than morning coffee on the balcony watching the trees gently sway and the birds sing. Condo had everything I needed from a toaster to beach chairs.

Kona Islander Inn is in the heart of Kona and is exactly what we needed! Public beach across the street and farmers market 100 yards away with all the restaurants nearby. Cute, functional space is perfect for a couple with things to do!

Very close to town but still a private and quite location, nice hosts.

I had such a lovely relaxing time at the condo. Everything was within walking distance. The best places to eat, the Farmer's Market right next door, the beach right across the road. I absolutely had the best time. After dealing with my husband's death just 3 months prior and a stressful tax season, I sure needed this time away from it all. It just turned unfortunate with the tragedy of the wildfires up in the Northern part of Kona and the horrible events in Maui. God please show your love and mercy to those wonderful people.

Larry’s property was a perfect size studio for one or two. Condo was filled with more amenities than I expected, which was a nice surprise. Kitchen area stocked with everything, plus extras. Lots of bath towels, beach towels. Only thing needed I think, is a beach umbrella. Kona sun is intense at the beach!
I also want to say location of condo is right in the middle of town. Walkable to everything in the area. And the grounds of Kona Islander inn are beautiful. I loved walking up and down path to Alii. Pool, hot tub. Really nice vacation! I hope to return. Really great value.

This property was in the heart of Kailua-Kona. The studio space was perfect for me. There were beach chairs and boards fir use, a cooler and bag for day trips, and any kitchen accessory needed for a week's stay. It was very sage, had off road parking, and part of a vwry well maintained condo property. I would absolutely stay here again!

Great location. Close to stores, food, shoreline. Unit is smaller than expected but the kitchen supplies were adequate to prepare meals. I would definitely stay again. Loved our VRBO

Condo was just as described & photographed, owner extremely helpful and promptly communicated with our questions/needs. Amenities left us with no needs whatsoever. Grounds & pool constantly being maintained, and front desk staff ever kind & friendly. Another enjoyable stay at the Kona Islander!

Had everything. The only thing was couldn't adjust the shower head. Then toilet was running. Stop and go. But didn't hear it, only when we went to use it

Lovely studio apartment. Well equipped with cooler, chairs and swim toys. Would have loved a King bed and a quieter AC unit:)

This studio condo is part of a large development in central Kona. It has a nice, if small, pool and bbq area. The reception only checks people in. If there are issues, one has to communucate with the property owner.
This unit overlooks the pool. As a studio it is rather small and the kitchenette area doubles as the washplace for the bathroom. Lots of kitchen appliances are included, as is gear for the beach (chairs etc). There is a microwave but no stove and the cooking area is cramped. Parking is available on site at no charge but it is first come, first served. Overflow parks on the main road.
The owner (Larry G) was very responsive when queried. Good internet and there is a brand new tv in the suite. Overall a value for money proposition in an area of town close to the "action" and public beaches.

Very comfortable & quiet, lanai was great for eating and relaxing, lots of extras available for our use like boogie boards, beach towels, cooler & chairs. Kitchen was well stocked. Steph at the front desk was super helpful and friendly! Close to good restaurants. We had no problem getting a parking spot in the lot. We would stay here again!

The Kona Islander Inn is showing its age but Larry’s rental is very clean and comfortable. Absolutely the best value in the area. Right in the heart of the shopping/dining district - you can walk to everything. Parking is very limited but offsite parking is available one property over.

Ideal location in centre of Kona. 50 metres from seafront with bars, restaurants, shops. Small but excellent pool and surrounding area with jacuzzi, sunbeds and gas bbq’s. Only problem was internet not working - free wifi at McDonalds 100 yards up the road.

This property is small, cozy and adequate for our trip to Kailua-Kona - what more could we ask for?
The bed was comfortable and the hide-a-bed also was just fine. There were a lot of little details which could have been helpful for travel - like folding camp chairs, beach mats, beach towels, plenty of linens, laundry basket, etc. Larry had thought of most anything to make a trip complete and budget friendly.
We really liked how easy it was to walk out the back gate to Ali'i Drive to access shops and food. It was a very short drive to Safeway. We walked to the luau at the Royal Kona. Next door was a cute farmer's market where we bought fruit and other items. We found the town very easy to get around from this location.
Only downside is parking was tight and often had to park on the street later in the day. There are a lot of units for the amount of parking. Otherwise really great location and adequate accommodations - clean, no bugs (I experienced that in Oahu) and people were very friendly! Larry is an excellent host.

We loved having our family stay at this condo. They had a nice view of the pool. And very convenient location for both walking around town or us picking them up on our way to other adventures. They said it was very comfortable and they slept well! We had to adjust our dates (due to the airline making changes) and Larry was easy to contact, quick to respond and very nice! Mahalo!

The apartment was ok for our needs. We appreciate to be able to make our own meals in the appartement because everything is so expensive in Hawaï. But do not use the toster oven while using the electrical pan and the micro wave. We lost power and thankfully, the reception was still open hours when it happened. The decor needs a refreshing taste. We felt that we were back in the 80’s… They seem to rarely clean the railings and furniture in the reception area. I forgot my favorite red sweeter on the bed when we left the appartement. I left a messenger that I was going to pick it up two days later at the reception desk. And left 2 phone numbers to call me back if there was a problem. When I went back before my way to the airport, I went to the reception desk with the answer that I had to contact the owner. I didn’t have time then to solve the problem few hours before my flight. Lost my sweeter… But otherwise, if you do not care about the points I mentioned, it is a good place to stay and it is very quiet.
