About this house rental
Nestled in Red Lodge, this attractive house for $235 per night is a great option for your next trip. Historic home in beautiful downtown Red Lodge. This house is within walking distance of the restaurants, bars, great shops and galleries. In the summer you can enjoy hiking in the beautiful Beartooth Mountains, fishing in blue ribbon streams and high mountain lakes or drive up the historic Beartooth pass and experience Yellowstone National Park, which is only 70 miles away. In the winter months you can go downhill skiing at Red Lodge Mountain, which is only 6 miles from town or go cross-country skiing at the Red Lodge Nordic Center or on many of the great trails available in the area. You can go ice fishing at nearby Cooney Dam or go snow shoeing in the backcountry. This house is 1125 square feet. It was built in 1910 and was remodeled in 2017. It has a lot of natural light and has a feeling of comfort throughout. We have a hot tub and concrete patio, and new composite deck out back to enjoy the outdoors. This is a 2 Story house with 3 bedrooms and a loft. There is one full bathroom with tub/shower and a half bath. The kitchen was recently remodeled with new cabinets, countertops, flooring and appliances. This house has a lot of character and personality. There is a washer/dryer, a kitchen that has everything you need to prepare you meals or mix up an adult beverage. The bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed with an attached Master bath. Upstairs there is one bedroom with a queen bed and another bedroom with 2 twin beds. The loft/dormer has one twin bed. This property is conveniently located close to downtown and within walking distance of all of the restaurants and taverns. Did I mention that it's really close to downtown? It really is. It is perfect if you want to go out to dinner or to the tavern for drinks. You can easily walk home and enjoy the scenery on the way. Security: We have installed security cameras at all the access points to the property. They are at the front door, the side gate and the garage gate. This is strictly for security. There are not any cameras inside the home or inside the yard. Wildlife Viewing: You will see deer and turkeys every day. If you're lucky you'll get to see a Moose or a bear. Hopefully you will see them from a safe distance. Please notice that the whole town has bearproof garbage cans. There is a reason for that. We have plenty of bear activity in the summer and fall months. Please be aware of your surroundings. In the summer from the first of May until Labor Day, we have hummingbirds. They are especially active in the morning and evenings. They are so much fun to watch. We hope you enjoy your visit to Red Lodge. The people here are very friendly and helpful. Had a little miscommunication with owner. They believed our reservation was a day earlier than we booked. I can honestly say when we left, we forgot about the checkout process due to a family emergency surgery, but we had minimal dishes, and just a few wash clothes as well as towels. Overall not a bad stay.

This home was perfect for a Girls Weekend. It was fully stocked with nearly every amenity you could imagine you might need at your home away from home. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing under the stars. And it was within easy walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Overall, it was very quiet and cozy and we had the most wonderful time staying here.

Sweet Retreat is located in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks from downtown Red Lodge. It is an older home that has been renovated and updated very tastefully. The furnishings are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. Many condiments were supplied. The house was very clean and well maintained. Susan is a very gracious host, even checking on us after our departure in a snow storm to make sure we were doing well. We plan to re-rent here upon our return.

There were 7 of us, 6 adults and 1 teen. There was plenty of room. The home is cozy, well maintained, and right in town. The only critique I can think of is that the loft bed actually is not in its own bedroom/space, but rather between the 2 upstairs bedrooms. Maybe I misses something in the description, but it was a bit of a surprise. Otherwise, this home had everything we needed and wanted. A really great value! I definitely recommend it for a winter getaway or in the summer, when it seems like the town has a ton to do and see.

Convenient for skiing - we were pleasantly surprised that the hill opened on Friday after Thanksgiving. We had to reschedule from a winter ski trip to a summer adventures trip. We loved it, had a blast. The Sweet Retreat is a great place to relax, rest and recharge your batteries. The house is adorable and has everything you need to prepare meals, etc. So many little extras. Would highly recommend the river rafting adventures, and the drive to Cooke City on the Beartooth Highway is incredible. The town of Red Lodge is loaded with great shops and restaurants and the people are amazing! This was our second time staying and will definitely be back!

I felt I had to comment as this was such an impressive property! It was small things like an outlet placed very conveniently by the dresser so one could dry hair while someone else was in the bathroom. Towel hooks had markers on them so you knew whose was whose! Hot tub towels were labeled and near the door. There were tissues in convenient locations around the house. There was actually enough comfortable seating for the whole family in the living room - this is not always the case. Location was terrific as we could walk to the ski rental store, for coffee, and truly all of downtown. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only drawback is that there is only one shower but a little planning made this no problem at all. Thank you for a terrific vacation. :)

Christmas in Red Lodge
Such a perfect little home in the perfect location! Everything we needed for the perfect holiday weekend was nearby! Resturaunts, groceries, ski rentals all within a few miles! The kids loved watching the wild life from the window every morning! And the managers keeping the walkways and porch free from snow and ice was a huge unexpected bonus! 100% recommend and will definitely be staying Here again! Thanks for the best experience!!

A Gem of a House
What a great little house, so close to downtown and easy access to everything. My family of 6 had plenty of space and a bed for everyone (which is important to the kids!) The house was very clean and welcoming, and the property owner was very responsive. I would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to getaway in Red Lodge!

My family and I have stayed in many VRBO’s over the years and I will say that this one was the cleanest and most well equipped that we have had the pleasure of staying in. Even the silverware was very neatly organized in the drawer! There was also a ice chest available to use for our day trips. Very nice touch! The location is great as well. We walked to Main Street and around with ease. Thank you for the use of your home!

Our New Favorite Place in Red Lodge!
We have rented a number of different places around Red Lodge over the past 6 years as we get there once per year to ski/board. Those other rentals have all been good, but this was the best yet. It was the perfect kind of space for our family of 5 - bedrooms and beds for everyone, a great updated kitchen, and a cozy living room to hang out in and watch movies and play games. The owners have done an excellent job in having all the little things you would want available, from enough hooks to hang towels on, to soap dispensers in the shower to extra zip lock bags in the kitchen, to ext cords by beds to make plugging in things easy. Everything was marked well and easy to find. Property in good shape - the inside especially was nicely updated and clean. The keypad access is great - nice to not have to keep track of a key. We had never stayed right in town off the main road before - was very convenient location for all the shops downtown, literally a minute over to groceries, etc. Thanks for a great stay!
