We needed to get away for a bit in this crazy pandemic and this was a pretty good place to be. The stream that runs behind the house was the draw for the property, kids had fun swimming, playing, climbing, in it everyday. Vermont had pretty strict quarantine rules for out-of-state visitors and we ended up packing enough food for 7-days and didn’t leave the property. The house was rustic and comfortable, but basic. It was pretty clean considering how rural it is. There were a few minor things that could use some update (i.e. blinds for the sliding door, could use a screen door for the sliding door so that it can be left open, towel bar for downstairs bathroom is coming off the wall), but they were really minor. The stream wasn’t the easiest to access, involving a short steep downhill. There was a half-built staircase, hopefully it’ll be finished soon to make getting down to the stream easier in the future. The pictures showed a playground in the yard that was not there anymore. The biggest problem that we had was that there were a couple of mice living in the wall and you could hear them scratching sometimes in the upstairs bathroom. They would come out each night in the kitchen with a couple of mouse droppings in the morning, so we needed to make sure that the counter was clear of food. The cupboards were clean and kept the mice out of our food. The TV wasn’t connected to the internet, so we couldn’t log into any streaming service. It would be nice to let renters know so that they can bring a chrome cast or something like that for streaming movies and shows for the kids. Overall, it was nice and quiet, the stream was a hit with the kids. Given the pandemic, it was a good social-distancing vacation for us.

Plenty of space and quiet
Plenty of space and quiet
This home met all of our needs for our stay in Vermont (my husband and I stayed at this property with our two young children, ages 3 and 1.5). It was further off the "beaten path" than we realized but was beautiful and quiet. The house was not as clean as I would have preferred but still worked well for us.

The best part of the house were the swimming holes, although they were difficult to access due to the steepness of the slope. The house was further from Killington and a large grocery store than we realized, but the location was quiet. There were gun safes in the house, which were secure and safe, but with a family would have preferred to know about them ahead of time. Lots of games and puzzles to play and great WiFi. Bedrooms were good sizes and plenty of clean towels.
