I brought my husband here for an unique experience, and our visit was nothing short of that! The atmosphere was nice, we ate at the restaurant above the main office. We took full advantage of the game room they had…even though none of the games worked, it was no problem to keep score in our heads. Ping pong, basketball, giant connect four. The villa was amazing, it was cozy and welcoming. I was excited about the top deck and it was everything we needed it to be. Definitely would come back in warmer months.

The floating house we rented —very beautiful in the advertising pictures— was not at all what we were expecting. An agreeable house during the day became extremely disagreeable and uncomfortable during the night because of the VERY poor and cold electric lighting existing in the house!!!

We were a little confused about checkin procedure as we were waiting for instructions. I finally called after several VRBO messages sent. Once checked in, they had an escort take us to floating villa on water- the wrong 1 and our pass key worked only to find it was already occupied. We found ours and it was great except was little sparse on kitchen supplies and no blankets. We luckily brought couple small ones on our trip. You have to purchase wifi per night. This is an RV park/home/ houseboat rental location so many options. Loved waking up to ducks, cranes, and gulls each morning and the location was beautifully landscaped and well kept. Many things to do: swim, horseshoes, gaming area,cornhole,hot tub, boat at marina. Our son loved the lift inside our houseboat. It was unfurnished except for a TV, but left him to his own private retreat to game. We enjoyed the upper deck gor some sun, meals and needed relaxation. Kinda of deceiving by pics of boat. The pics on site were from the other 2 floating villas mostly. Still very nice.

So happy we chose to stay here versus the city. It was a short drive to the city. The house/property was worth the price! The staff were friendly and helpful our whole stay. We have no complaints!

Food on the floor, ceiling fan not working in bedroom, dried coffee in pot, dirty towel hanging on master bedroom bathroom door

The unit proved sufficient, and it offers the opportunity to stay free of Covid risk and an alternative to busier areas of New Orleans. While the property advertises internet and TV, the WiFi could not be accessed from the unit, and the TV reception was poor and channels very limited. Parking is several hundred yards from the unit entry, which could be an issue for some. Overall, we were satisfied as the floating unit was something different that we were able to get on short notice.

There was a lack of professionalism from staff during our check in process. Seemed he didn’t believe we were supposed to be there. After verifying with his boss and a 15 minute wait, we were given the keys to our Villa. He mentioned to us that there was a max occupancy of 6, when in reality the site mentioned 8. We were also told that parties were not allowed although on the booking site permission was given. I had also mentioned the small gathering I would be having to the property manager during booking and got no push back then. I had made it clear that it would be a few people over to celebrate my 30th birthday. Most of the people occupied the outside spaces of the villa to ensure everyone was safe per covid guidelines. It was maybe 10 people max on the grounds of the villa at one time, but they did not sleep over. They left before midnight.The night of the party, security abruptly interrupted our evening with aggression to regulate parking. I can admit that we had a few too many cars not appropriately parked in the designated parking area (maybe 4), but it was also 9pm and no one was checking into the empty spaces available for parking surrounding my Villa. It was windy, dark and cold and I was keeping in mind the safety of my guests by telling them to park closer. It wasn’t an immediate issue that needed an immediate resolve and we weren’t nosey or rowdy or teenagers. We were all adults who could’ve been talked to as such, but his aggression and lack of professionalism rubbed my entire family wrong. Including my mother who was present for the ordeal. We moved our cars after security threatened to shut our whole night down aggressively although we had done nothing to breach our contract and continued our night Joyfully. Lastly, plumbing is to be emptied every morning to insure proper flushing of the toilet. The 1st morning we were there it seemed they forgot to do so and I had to plunge my way out of a very stinky situation. Soon after, they arrived to empty it. The delay in emptying was on both days of our stay. Overall!! The location and residents of the park were amazing, our biggest issue came with the staff who was mentioned above. I’ve recommended this place to many despite the situations because we truly had a great experience but being In the hospitality industry I’m a stickler for hospitality. That was missing at this property which is unacceptable in any circumstance but especially at this price point.
