Located in Lakehills, this attractive house for $299 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. House on the lake, 4 bedrooms, sleeps 16! Need more space? Cabin sleeps 4 more! Come and enjoy the summer season at a relaxing and exciting summer home! This home offers all the peace and relaxation you need, as well as exciting adventures you have been dreaming of. Imagine the sunset at about exactly 7:03pm, you are laying down on an oak hammock under the covered patio, listening to the river run its course, the wind caressing your face and the smell of sweet BBQ barely passing thru. Our home caters to all your senses. The Pavilion is 1800 square feet cover patio with its main view to the serene river and abundant forest on the hills. You can BBQ or cook out on the gas grill while your family and friends enjoy watching a movie on the outdoor smart tv/ w dvd on the outdoor sofa or enjoying a game of pool. After dinner is cooked, you can sit down on the 10 sitting picnic table and enjoy a good meal. Once your belly’s full, why not walk down to one of the two sunken patios recessed in the rock by the water’s edge and relax under the stars or if you prefer, choose the other sunken patio with a bench. If it’s late at night, you may catch a shooting star and your wishes may come true. Both sunken patios have stairs leading to the river’s edge. The next day, once you are rested and relaxed, you can start your day by kayaking the Medina River. You start your course at English crossing, which it’s 3 miles up the road, while breathing pure oxygen released from the oak trees along the river, you may encounter a school of fish along with a new mom turtle and it’s baby turtle, sometimes the deer will appear and you might feel that you are at a scene from the movie “Funny Farm'. After kayaking the 2 mile trip, it will lead you right in front of the “The Butterfly” and “Lady Bug” lair. If you are not ready to leave the water, you can stay sitting on the water in front of your relaxing home, call the kids and have a competition on who can find the prettiest stones under water or you might want to go grab your fishing pole and continue enjoying Mother Nature. You can be sure that your safety and privacy will always be maintained by the beautiful cedar fence that surrounds the home. If you are ready to join civilization, Bandera is only 20 minutes away. Don’t be fooled by the size of this small town. Set in the hill country, Bandera County, known as the Cowboy Capital of the World offers all the amenities you need including, museums, horseback riding, scenic drives and much much more! For further information about Bandera County, please visit www.banderacowboycapital or if you are in the mood for a metropolis, San Antonio is only 25 minutes away; you can go to Fiesta Texas, La Cantera outdoor mall or enjoy good eating Accommodations are as relaxing and exciting as the outdoors. The “Butterfly Home” can accommodate 16 guests. It has a master bedroom with a king size bed, walk-in closet and shower/large tub master bathroom. Room 2 has a queen size bed, 5 drawer dresser and closet. Room 3 also offers a queen size bed and closet; room 4 offers two sets of bunk bed (full on the bottom, twin on top) and the living room has 2 queen size sofa beds and a TV. The dining area accommodates 8 guests and the heart of the house which is the kitchen has an electric stove, stainless steel refrigerator, stainless steel microwave. So you may make the best of your vacation, we offer one washer and two dryers for your convenience. The “Lady Bug” cabin accommodates 4 guests. It has one queen size bed and a set of bunk beds. Again, don’t be fooled by the “Lady Bug”, it also has a bathroom with a stand up shower, kitchen and dining room. The home is connected to city water. The well is only for irrigation for the landscaping. This home is perfect for intimate weddings, family reunions, family vacations, church retreats, and small birthday parties. The property was wonderful. It had everything that was mentioned in the description and the owner was really nice to us. The only thing was that the river didn't have enough water to enjoy being in it, but this was not the owner's fault. Anyways, there was a lot of activities to do on the property which is specially great if you have young kids. Also, there is a lake in Boerne, like 30 minutes away from the property which has a lot of water if you want to swim. Overall our stay was great and we would definitely consider renting this property again.

I spent quality time with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, from the youngest member who is only 3 years old to the oldest who is 21. Despite the river being at knee level, it was ideal for everyone in the group.

Great family getaway
Everything about this property is amazing! You can read the reviews about all the cool stuff, bar games, patios, treehouse, trampolines, really a great family place.
But don’t expect water! No river, no water, not here, not in Bandera, not at Medina lake, not at English crossing, not at a hike up river. Yes it’s a big drought cycle right now and out of owner’s control. But manage any expectations of water.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Disappointed that the lake was empty, but that was out of the owner's hand. There was river access to get into the water. The pavillion was great to hang out with family because there was so much to do.....pool, foosball, cornhole. There was also a picnic table large enough for us. The kitchen was well stocked to make dinners. I wish we had explored the area and Bandera more. WE found a history museum in Bandera on the way. Any bigger cities you want to go to are about an hour away, so keep that in mind. Definitely doable though. We did the San Antonio River walk, Fredericksburg, Blanco River State Park, and Six Flags. My 8 year old absolutely loved the slide, dollhouse, trampoline, and tree house.

I love this house. It is the second time we stay there and I would definitely stay there again. I love how there is so many outdoor activities to do.

The river was low but the fun was high! With 4 youngsters in the party the water was a good depth and all the fun things from them at the property took the pressure off of packing 11 people in two cars to find things to do. Everything in the house seemed brand new. Loved the home feeling of the whole place!

Never again!
No security code to get in the house. Just painted and smelled terrible. Light plates, smoke alarms not up. Front door under construction-unable to use. Vent hood not hooked up. Safety issues inside and outside. Spent 1st night in hotel. Decided to make do the other three nights. We had ages 1 - 69. 13 people.

The reviews of this place were excellent and accurate. We have stayed in many vacation homes that do not live up to this destination. The water level was low but we were still able to kayak and sit in the water. The water level was actually perfect. We had a great time. Thank you Hill family!

Spent a short weekend at river for our daughters birthday. We were pleased with the facility. It is great for tweens & teenagers with the game area having everything you can think of. Mr Hill supplies river chairs, kayaks, floats and pretty much anything anyone would need for their stay. The house and bunk house where well cleaned and stocked. The kitchen has everything needed to cook and no need to bring anything extra than food. We will definitely return.

The outdoor area is what makes the place. There is so much to do under the pavilion-- outdoor TV, pool table, ping pong, darts, Foosball, trampoline, and on and on. There are even more play areas for kids out in the yard and the water (which is more like a flowing creek/low river) is right down at the end of the yard. The water is high enough for the kids and I to play, kayak, search for fish and frogs, plop a chair down and relax, all while my husband finds a deeper spot to fish in. Every year my kids ask if we can just live at this house.
The inside of the house works for our large family (of 9) and is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking big meals.
This last visit, on our second to last night, there was a horrible storm. The next morning we realized the water was rushing too fast for the kids to play safely. The owner noticed the issue on their camera and sent the nice man who cares for the property over to set up a slip and slide for my children so we could still have water play fun. We were touched by the thoughtful gesture and the kids (including us big kids) played for hours!
I cannot say enough nice things about this vacation spot, the Hill family, and the caretaker of the property. You won't regret booking this property, but please leave us at least one spot open every year!! 😁

3 nights at Pipe Creek
We are a large family group ...we enjoyed the house very much. We unfortunately had 1 of our days where rain pretty much all day...the kids had a blast playing pool, ping pong, and darts. We were perfectly comfortable in the house. We would be happy to return here again in the future
