About this house rental

Fully Furnished 1 Bdr/2 Bath + loft in Madera Canyon surrounded by the Coronado National Forest. Fabulous porch with swing, glider and room to feed the whole family while watching hummingbirds at your feeder. One of a kind woodwork 'makes' this home. 1326 sf of indoor living space. Central AC/heat. Full kitchen. Property is walking distance to trailheads, picnic areas and favorite birdwatching spots. It all adds up to the best place for an extended stay in Madera Canyon.

If you are traveling with friends, please check out my property next door that sleeps 2. It's called Creekside Madera Canyon Cabin.

Please note: There is no TV reception (we do have a dvd player). Satellite Internet is provided (but may be slower than you are used to and is subject to weather outages). This is a remote property. Your cell phone will have limited connectivity in the canyon (Verizon works best, but we suggest you set up wifi calling on your phone). There is a landline in the cabin. While there are two gift stores in the canyon, the next closest businesses are 15 miles away. I recommend you get gas and stop at the grocery store before you drive into the canyon. Don't forget to buy a bag of sugar to make syrup to feed the hummingbirds!

Please note there is NO washing machine for guest use.

This place is awesome for adults! Quiet and fantastic for bird watching! Fill the feeders and they will come. Molly is a wonderful host and took care of all of our needs. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to enjoy great meals when not hiking. If I ever get back this way I would stay here for sure.

It's difficult to imagine a better place to spend an extended vacation (a month in our case). Regardless of the weather outside (and in February we've seen it from 10 degrees to nearly 80). This beautiful hand-built cabin has all the amenities you need to take advantage of Madera Canyon recreational opportunities. Or just hang out on the deck and watch the birds. It doesn't get any better than this.

Had to cut the visit several days short because of a black bear on the veranda. Apparently they are common in the canyon and will go for the hummingbird feeders, despite their inherent shyness of humans. Otherwise a nice place to stay.
