SUMMER ACTIVITIES AT SNOWSHOE AND SURROUNDING AREAS Summertime at Snowshoe Mountain is truly a hidden gem. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the Snowshoe Village, including the shops, restaurants and bars, all stay open to offer a fun, yet relaxing getaway. For the adventure seekers, Snowshoe boasts some of the best mountain biking in the entire country, for both beginners and experts alike. Each weekend, ride your bike down the mountain and take the shuttle or a ski lift back up. You can also take the lift down to Shavers Lake and enjoy the highest “beach” in WV. At the lake, you can rent paddle boats, play horseshoes, kick back in a hammock, have some food and drinks at the Boathouse, or take a hike around the lake. The kids can also enjoy the water at Split Rock Pools, which has a popular “dumping barrel” that the little ones are sure to love. Other summer activities include golf at the breathtaking Raven Golf Course, located at the bottom of Snowshoe Mountain. Consistently rated as the best public course in WV, the Raven offers a challenging, yet serene, course for very reasonable rates. The resort also offers off-road dune buggy tours, geocache hunts, sporting clays, and, for the kids, eurobungy and a climbing wall. We hope your stay at our condo is enjoyable, relaxing and memorable!

Perfect location for skiing at Snowshoe, condo very comfortable and well equipped with amenities.

Comfortable place. Easy shuttle to the slopes. Easy walk to the village to do things. Great to have the Wildcat Provisions across the street...Its a good deal.

Unit was just as described. Great space to hang out and relax. The location was ideal, just a short walk to village central. The unit was stocked with everything you need. There was also plenty of parking.

This property was in close proximity to the village. Was about a 5 minute walk to the pool and 10 to the festival. Very quiet, very roomy. It exceeded my expectations.

The condo was exactly as described. Everyone had plenty of room. The host was great to communicate with.

Our trip to snowshoe was great! This place was perfect for our family of 4. We had plenty of space and loved being about to easily walk to the village. We will be back!

Had a *great* stay here for UCI World Cup mountain bike racing. The condo is spacious for a family of four. We didn’t feel like we were on top of each other like we have at other condos in the area. Spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed - including extra bedding for the futon. Small, but well-equipped kitchen - we kept our meals simple, so this wasn’t an issue. Very close to the village (2 min walk). Keypad entry made it convenient for family members to split up and not worry about who had keys to get back in. Communication with Laz was great! Will definitely stay again!

Generally speaking, this was a good unit, and we had a good time staying there. There were a couple of little hiccups that caused us to drop this review by one star: the floor throughout the apartment was fairly dirty, and the unit didn't have air conditioning. As far as the air conditioning, this wasn't that much of a deal once we figured out how to open the windows, with some help from the owner and a next door neighbor. The location is very nice, not too far from the village. The apartment furnishings and decor are a bit dated, but it is still pleasant. And while there is a strong mildew smell in the stairwell, you can't smell it in the unit. We would have liked to have had access to the balcony. At night, it was as quiet as you could ask and there was a nice view of the stars through the den windows.

This 2 bed/2 bath condo with a bonus den area made it easy for a ski weekend for our family of 4. The kitchen is small but well-stocked with tools and utensils. It would be challenging to cook an entire meal from scratch due to limited counterspace, but for easy vacation cooking (frozen pizzas, casseroles, etc) it was perfect. The condo is also stocked with a crockpot, and you could pre-prepare crockpot dinners and that would be another great ski day option.
The place was nicer than the pictures conveyed. Some of the furnishings are a little dated but still in good condition and everything was superbly clean.
For ski access, you can take the shuttle stops across the street from the condo parking lot. If you're not in your ski boots, walking down to the main village is also possible (about 0.5 mile walk).
Overall, this condo is a great value!

Close to the slopes and a great place to base out of for Snowshoe adventure.

Short walk to the top of the Ballhooter lift. Fully stocked kitchen and roomy bedrooms. Everything you need for a great stay close to the action without breaking your budget. The place is also fairly toddler proof with moving a few items out of reach. Be aware that this is a middle floor condo. We had a family staying above us that were walking around a lot before calling it quits around 11 pm.

A family of 7 stayed for 7 nights. 2 in late 40's and their 3 sons in early 20's and 2 of their girlfriends. It was spacious enough for all of us. It was very clean and well stocked. I'm glad that it was on the main level and could park right at it so very easy to get luggage in and out. I did like that the store is across the street. The only thing that we did not like is not as close to the slopes as we thought it would be so we had to take the shuttle. It's fine to walk to the slopes for the snowboarders but not so easy in ski boots. Also the balcony door is locked and not accessible to guest which was a bummer because we love to sit and watch the deer. But overall it was nice. 🙂

The property is great, our only caution is that the kitchen is small. Don’t plan on cooking elaborate meals. With that said, it’s a full size fridge and stove so great for cooking frozen pizzas etc. Use the shuttle bus to get around, parking anywhere else is challenging. Easy walk to the village. We had a great time and will come back.

The condo was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The kitchen might have been small but we cooked most all our meals without any problems. The location was right between the village and top of the world where we went to play pool at hoots with our teenagers. Beds were comfortable, we would definitely rent here again.

This condo was close to the village to walk or catch the shuttle if the weather is bad. The beds were very comfortable and the condo was cozy warm on those chilly nights. Although there was warmer weather than anticipated we were still able to ski on some of the trails. We will definitely be back!

Great stay and condo. Owner was so kind to accommodate date changes due to an Ice Storm that left us unable to travel.

We enjoyed our week at this unit a lot. In the past at Snowshoe we had always stayed in smaller units, but since this was a week-long stay we chose this larger one and were very happy we did. Leatherbark is right across from Wildcat Provisions, which means it's not right in the Village, but is only a short 5-minute walk away via the pedestrian walkway. So you get the convenience of the Village without the noise and bustle. For skiing, we just drove 2 minutes to Top of the World and parked in the public parking lot right across from the slopes - super convenient. I did also see some people just walking from Leatherbark directly to Ballhooter with their skis. The unit had an assortment of games to play on rainy days, and the main TV had HDMI ports so we brought our Roku for steaming. (There is also a DVD player.) The WIFI had no problem with up to three of us doing separate video conferences simultaneously. The in-unit laundry was convenient, as was the fact that this unit is on the main level. We were able to park right in front and walk right in - no stairs. We didn't use them, but the unit has ski racks in the entry. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, a crock pot, coffee maker, pizza trays, a quiet, newish dishwasher, etc., although guests who are interested in cooking might want to bring their own sharp chef's knife. There were no spices to speak of but Laz, our host, communicated this to us beforehand and we brought our own - no problem. The beds were very comfortable, there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets and we never ran out of hot water. Laz's communication was excellent. I would not hesitate to stay in this unit again or recommend it to others looking for a fun time at Snowshoe. Overall I would give it 4.5 stars.
