5 minute walk to beach! “Lovely”cottage, completely renovated in May 2017, in popular sought out neighborhood of Kill Devil Hills, MP 6.5, rented to guests for over 20 years. Pet friendly. Rambler- no stairs! Clean, fully equipped kitchen, in “wonderful” location. Accommodates family of 6. Dogs, must have-updated vaccines, $120. Pet fee, per pet, for length of stay. 5 minute walk to beach. Steps away from Avalon Fishing Pier, and several of locals (and visitors) favorite restaurants, bars, Awful Arthur's Restaurant and Beach Shop. Avalon Pier, Jolly Rodgers. Short drive to Target, Food Lion, putt putt golf, movie theater, bowling, Wright Memorial, sound access, many restaurants, arcade, lions club bingo, several apparel/gift shops, 3 BR: 1 queen, 1 double. 1 twin and 1 twin pullout in “Florida Room” LR: Leather sofa, love seat and recliner purchased in 2022. Free Wifi. 2?Flat screen TV with Netflix, Peacock, Max and sevrral others. Dinning table seats up to 6-7. Central Air/Heat, new in 2018 Kitchen fully equipped Dishes, pots, pans, microwave, toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, crock pot, etc. Bedroom linen, bath and kitchen towels provided. HOWEVER, you are responsible for laundering!! One Bathroom Outside shower You are responsible for suppling Toilet paper, shampoo, soap, laundry and dish detergent, trash bags. We attempt to supply the above mentioned products but do not garantee them. Deck in unfenced large back yard with full size picnic table and wood chairs. BBQ gril- charchol Driveway parking for 4 and additional, amble, street parking. Ocean sound! Comments from previous renters: “I really liked your house. It was perfect for us. I will talk about the host and the property in sequence.
Our host was unkind and unfriendly--not concerned with our comfort or experience. She was defensive when we brought issues to her attention and asked questions about the additional fees.
Two weeks prior to our reservation, I inquired what the additional fees were towards. In response to my queries, the host threatened to cancel our reservation.
The check-in was great, no issues. The cottage is cute and well-furnished. However, we noticed upon walking in that the handle to the oven door was lying on the counter. Immediately, I sent a photo to the host--and I was astounded to hear from her that they would fix it after we left. We did not have the use of the oven, and could not have the meals that we had planned and shopped for.
The beds are good and the kitchen is well-equipped.
The location is great, close to the beach and on a quiet street--no traffic noise.
There are lots of flies inside the house (I counted 12 at one time). I bought a fly-trap for the inside. Also there is zero privacy if you open the blinds, most of the windows look out on the street (except for the side porch). The blinds must remain closed -- making it dark inside during the day.
An important issue for future renters: be sure to bring your toilet paper!

Sweet Dreams was just the right size for our family of six and our furbabies! The place was clean and nicely decorated. The cottage is located in my favorite area of OBX. Short walk to the beach, pier and some awesome restaurants. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect … an easy walk to the beach. A few minor issues … the storm had knock out the Wi-Fi and I couldn’t get it restarted, but Douglas was responsive about it. We did have some flies in the house (not unexpected in Sept at the beach and easily resolved with a Zevo trap. We did notice the door handle on the oven was broken (I think the screw hole was stripped) but I didn’t mention this until check out, so no concerns about responsiveness.
Overall it was a wonderful stay.

The Sweet Dreams house was perfect for our family of two adults and two teenage girls z the house had everything we needed. The best part was location! Walk to the beach, target, and dinner! Driving to either end of the OuterBanks was east from the house.

My family and I had a wonderful time here. The location honestly couldn’t be better. Super short walking distance to the beach, short walking distance to Target! Everything else is a short drive away! The house itself is very nice, very clean and all the amenities are there. We couldn’t have asked for more on our first trip to OBX.

The house was very clean. Good space for family of four without being overly expensive. Short walk to beach with private access which is wonderful because it’s far enough away from public access points which gave us a very uncrowded space of beach to enjoy. We always bring our own bed linens, so it wasn’t an issue for us that beds aren’t made up- but be prepared to make up the beds when you get there if you use the linens provided. Also bring paper towels, tissues and tp! Thankfully we brought all of that because there was not a stitch in the house to even tide us over until we unpacked. We left some paper products behind so the next vacationers wouldn’t run into the same issue. Target is right down the street (walkable) which came in handy and my daughters loved. Overall great stay.

Easy access to the beach. Lots of cooking utensils and kitchen appliances including a slow cooker, brand new charcoal grill on the patio. Only suggestions are to clarify the 2nd bathroom refers to the outside shower (which is nice for rinsing sandy feet after having been to the beach), would have been nice if the beds were already made upon arrival (we had to look for the sheets), and heads-up for how long it'd take to wash the towels and linens. It took much longer than we expected resulting in a bit delayed departure.

We were comfortable and the house was within walking distance to the beach. The inside shower is small, but the outdoor shower has plenty of room. Make sure you bring your own toilet paper and paper towels.

When we arrived at the property, we had to make our beds, look for the towels and the pass to be able to park our car in the corresponding parking lot. (We found the parking pass 2 days later under a chair in the patio.)
And the last thing we did not expect was that the refrigerator was not clean, because there was food and the coffee maker had a filter with coffee that had already been used by previous guests.
The rest of the house was in good condition and our stay was pleasant.

Had a wonderful time!!! The property was very clean with lots of amenities and just minutes away from beach. Great location to restaurants and stores. Check in was a breeze and Brenda was super sweet! Looking forward to returning in the future.

It was the perfect size for our group of 4. The Internet didn’t work well, but there was space for us to play games in the dining room area and living room. Beautiful area right next to the beach, just watch out for One-Way streets! It’s a little confusing when you’re driving in, out, and around the area.
Wish we had a couple more days here! So much fun.

My wife and I live in upstate NY but have visited the outer banks many times. We wanted a weeks vacation so off we went. Nothing fancy. This property was perfect for us. Close to the beach close to shopping and an easy drive to the National Seashore. The place was clean. Comfortable. Many places have few dishes and utensils. This one was WELL stocked. Plenty of everything you need to make a meal. Check in was very easy. Communication was great. We loved the outside shower so much we never used the one inside. The whole process was easy. We can recommend this property. It sleeps 5, but we enjoyed the space.. Our only complaint was that there were too many ceramic knick knacks on flat surfaces and to may fish on the walls.

This was a perfectly located home for getting away for a long weekend and catching up with friends who own homes close by! We had everything we needed in the cottage, but probably would not stay for a week. Beds were not very comfortable (: Weather was perfect and we really had wonderful time!

We really enjoyed our stay at the beach house. Everything was exactly as advertised and communication with the owner was great. The contactless check-in was great since we ended up getting in much later than anticipated because of travel delays. The house was great and fit our small family well. We LOVED the outdoor shower. The deck/picnic table was a nice place to enjoy morning coffee while we waited for the kids to wake up. It was a short walk to the pier and beach, though we spent more time at other beaches with a little gentler waves for the little ones. The neighborhood is quiet despite being fairly close to some busy roads. The house is close to groceries, shopping, and dining. Having WiFi was really nice too. The only complaint, and it’s a very minor one, is that beds weren’t as comfortable as I would’ve liked. Even still, we’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

The property was in a great location, extremely clean and well kept, lots of amenities, outdoor shower was amazing, with an easy walk to the Beach. Only negatives was when we arrived the sheets and towels were not ready and we had to finish the laundry from the previous guest and make all the beds. The other issues was the grass was cut but not raked (massive amounts of cut grass in piles) and we had to rake it ourselves in order to utilize the back yard for some yard games. I would definitlely stay here again.

Everything was exactly as advertised. Perfect size for me, my wife, 20 year old daughter, and 17 year old son. Fully stocked (utensils) kitchen was very nice, including coffee pot and toaster oven. The walk to the beach was listed at 5 minutes, and this was spot on. Great selection of restaurants in the area, as well. We had a wonderful stay!

We were looking for a place at the Outer Banks to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, which is July 4th. Sweet Dreams house was perfect. It was comfy and just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Good location and a good price.

This is a great spot in KDH. Our family of five (3 teenagers...), fit great. We had a small hiccup on arrival but the host was very responsive and fixed it for us. The walk to the beach is just like its listed .. 4 minutes. This spot was so convenient to everything. The place was so clean.. Laundry and outdoor shower so great. The beach was not overcrowded at all. Would come back again!

Very cute house! A couple of issues initially, but Brenda was super responsive. Location was great, and very convenient to have access to park right by the pier, very helpful with a toddler!

We had a lovely stay at Sweet Dreams. The house is located very close to the beach and is very comfortable. As other guests have noted, you do need to be prepared to provide some things like toilet paper, trash bags and laundry detergent if the guests before have not left any. It is also good to know that you need to make the beds when you arrive and wash and dry all linens before you leave. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a nice deck for eating outside. The outdoor shower is really great after coming back from the beach. We would stay here again.

The location was great. The place is little but perfect for a smaller family (excluding the TEENY shower lol). I enjoyed the deck and the outside shower was great. Make sure you bring your own TP detergent etc or plan on buying it, as the people that rented it before you may not be as courteous as we are . They really left the place destitute LOL but that's not the owners fault!! Overall it was pleasant took place to stay and I would use again.

My partner and our daughter loved this place! Just a short walk to the beach Avalon pier, and Awful Arthur’s. The house was clean and cozy. More than enough room for the three of us.

Loved the house. It was the perfect size for us. We like that there were kitchen supplies - plates cups pots pans etc. The bed were very uncomfortable and hard. Also we felt like the beach is a little farther away than described. You have to cross the street that the house is located on. Walk down a sandy path... the cross a main heavily traveled road... the another path before hitting the beach. With little kids and gear it was quite the hike.

Great place to unwind from real life. Property is centrally located and close to many places to eat. Short walk to the beach. Though it was cold during our stay we went to the beach for walks each day. Would recommend the property for couples and small families as a great place to unwind from life.
