About this house rental

Located in Cape Town, this attractive house for $500 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Look no further if you want to experience the Southern Cape of Africa living in the luxury of another age (originally the Italian Embassy), classic Cape Dutch architecture with established terraced gardens, surrounded by the majestic Table Mountain, Simon van der Stell's first Dutch East India vineyards, and overlooking the confluence of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. The high ceilings and ornate moldings, fireplace and chandeliers provide a relaxing atmosphere, with natural light streaming in through the series of French windows that line the front of the house overlooking the distant Hottentott's Holland Mountains, and False Bay to the East. Hike Table Mountain from your doorstep or take the easy contour route to the National Heritage Site Kirstenbosch Gardens for lunch at one of their restaurants specializing in local cuisine, or take a picnic and stretch out on the lawns surrounded by the exquisite fynbos and proteas that grow wild on the mountain. Its central position allows easy access to the City Center and Waterfront, the fishing village of Hout Bay offering freshly caught seafood and several excellent restaurants and walks on the Bay, the #1 restaurant in the Cape, La Colombe, just up the road, the western seaboard with its cliffs, enigmatic Chapman's Peak drive, golden sunsets, exciting cafes of Camp's Bay, the world famous Constantia Wine Route, and Cape Point National Park. Some of these features are illustrated in the attached photo album. Live-in staff to assist with house and garden upkeep. We spent a wonderful 5 days in this lovely home celebrating my parents 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends The house is situated in a quiet area of Constantia with lovely views to False Bay and contains everything you need The house was big enough that it never felt crowded even with 7 people We also had a lovely evening making Pizzas in the pizza oven - thanks to Rexford for helping us to keep the oven hot ! We all agreed that we would stay here again if we were all together again in Cape Town Thank you for a wonderful stay !

The property and gardens are breathtakingly beautiful. Sitting on the terrace or by the pool is absolute luxury. The second en suite bathroom is in need of a bit of a renovation. The bath definitely needs to be replaced or re-enamelled. This is however the only negative aspect. We had two weeks of friends coming and going and enjoyed a birthday celebration. Location is stunning situated in the Constantia winelands. The Constantia village is a very pleasant shopping and coffee destination. Also the Constantia Emporium is well worth a visit for shopping at Checkers.. The staff living on the property were extremely attentive without being in any way intrusive. Our stay was very memorable and we were sad to leave.

We spent the last 3 days of our trip in Africa in this beautiful house. It was the perfect conclusion to our vacation. The house is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. We had a group of 9 family members ranging from 16 - 80 and the house perfectly accommodated everyone and their needs. The rooms were beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is large and everything we needed we could find. Checking in and out was simple and Rexford (the caretaker) was very accommodating with our arrival and departure schedule. The gardens around the house are beautiful and I can only imagine how spectacular they are in the summer. The house feels like a wonderful remote retreat yet you are located centrally to everything in Cape Town. Overall this was a perfect stay and I wish that we could have stayed longer. When we find ourselves back in Cape Town I will absolutely look to stay here again!!

From the moment we drove into the driveway we were taken aback. Rexford was waiting diligently, even though our flight was delayed and the house was in pristine order. A truly "fantastic" break and place to unwind. Thank you, we have already recommended the place to many of our friends. See you next year!

This property suited our needs perfectly. It is well located, in Constantia, for easy access to the western seaboard (south), waterfront and highway network (north). The home sleeps 12 people, is spacious and laid out so that you don't have the feeling of being on top of one another. Our age range was from 16 to 90 and the property catered well for all ages with games room, swimming pool, patio and lounge areas. Being old and large there are some maintenance issues but any issues were immediately attended to. If any of our party ever have a need again we wouldn't hesitate to use this property. Fond memories indeed!
