The house and location were both satisfactory. Our major concern for us and for future guests was the invasion by wasps/hornets. We must have killed at least a couple dozen of them and they seemed to be coming thru an opening in the ceiling in one of the small bedrooms. They DID NOT come in thru open windows or doors. One of the boys was stung when he was trying to kill it. The other minor complaint was the condition of the skillets - warped, we think the cast iron one was actually cracked. The cookie sheet was just nasty - no other way to describe it. We wondered at the number of books available and not a single lamp to read by. Now - that said. The house with its location next to the canal was lovely and interesting. It was close to the beach and the walk thru the neighborhood was easy. We would recommend this particular house with reservations because of those wasps.

Property was so quiet. On a canal so we saw so much wildlife- beavers, herons, king fishers, osprey. It was a short three block walk to a wonderful beach with easy access and great sunsets. The sea gulp grocery store right on the corner of the highway before the beach was wonderful. Our only disappointment was that there were no chairs for the beautiful outside deck and the listing is not clear about that. I think you might want to put that in the listing. We just assumed the chairs were inside the house, since you prominently showed the deck.

We had a fantastic time here. The property was very clean and the location was awesome for easy access to kayaking the lake and walking to the beach. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are no curtains in the main bedroom so you will be up with the sunrise and may have trouble sleeping when the moon is bright. Since we have young kids we can’t sleep in anyway but I would have appreciated curtains. The check-in and check-out process was simple, the cottage was pretty well stocked (travel toiletries, laundry detergent pods, etc.), and there was a decent setup in the kitchen. We would stay here again.

We would give it a 5 star but there was miscommunication and there was work being done at the location while we were there. The issue was resolved quickly which we were grateful for. Loved the location! We kayaked right from the back of the house and the beach was within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay. It was close to alot. The back porch was highlight. We saw deer, ducks, river otters, pelican. It was very enjoyable. We will definitely book again if we come back to Oregon. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at this house. We took my father and brother for Father’s Day celebrations, and the house had just about everything you could need. I am rating it 5 stars because the locale and the house layout was wonderful. The only imperfections were minor, only one of the rooms had a queen bed, and the other two rooms had only bunk beds. It would be great if one of the rooms had two sets of bunk beds and two of the rooms hosted queen beds. The upstairs bathroom doorframe is very uneven and you can actually see into the bathroom with the door closed, which might be a little disconcerting for some people. Also, there isn’t a single lamp in the house. We had to rely on the ceiling lamps to see at night, which makes it hard to read a book. Thankfully we had flashlights at the ready for those midnight trips to the bathroom. The kitchen window is broken, and could do with a repair especially when cooking in the kitchen. Also, the kitchen could do with better lighting as it was very dim and made cooking meals a little less pleasant. The master bedroom could do with some blinds, drapes, or shades. It gets extremely bright in the mornings making “sleeping in” more difficult, and also reduces privacy for those who care about having large open windows into their personal bedroom. The upstairs bathroom window could do with better drapes/blinds as well, because right now anyone outside intently looking in could easily see activity in the bathroom. I know all of these sound like complaints but to be honest, these are more just pointers that could be followed by the owners to make the house perfect for future guests at some point. Even despite these items I’ve listed, we would 100% stay again.
