Big thanks to Marjorie for an incredible stay > my 4th time to St Barts with my kids who are now adults ( 18 & 20 ) and like always a wonderful place to be .. Villa La Belle Vie was spotless and well cared for our entire trip> and is 100% as advertised ; would absolutely stay again if she would have us :) Great location to head to the beaches & resorts of Grand and Petite Cul De Sac, and an easy ride to Gustavia > We loved being outside of the downtown traffic and view of the water.. definitely an easy choice while in St. Barts

After a day of exploring the island, we always felt like we were coming home to La Belle Vie. You will feel comfortable here quickly because there’s space to relax and you’ll find everything you need in the kitchen. Air conditioning units kept the house very comfortable. The beds were great, and we loved the towels. Lots of closet space and hangers. The owner and property manager checked in frequently to see if we had any questions and we appreciated that. It was disorienting being in another country and questions did come up! Restaurant recommendations were great. Our favorite was Le Sereno. A few tips for first-time travelers to St. Barth’s: This is a popular, bustling island right now. You can find quiet places to relax, but the roads are busy, and people are building and remodeling. I can see why — it’s lovely here. The sun rises and sets early on the eastern edge of the eastern time zone, so activity begins early, too. Holiday weekends are quieter. Driving is challenging due to the narrow, winding roads, but you really do need a car to get around. Get a convertible so you can see and hear traffic better, and of course, enjoy the sunshine. There’s no Uber or central dispatch, so we found it very difficult to get taxis. You have to call individual drivers one by one to see if they’re available. You will need to carry luggage up one flight of stairs from the garage to the house. There is a handrail. We thought we would need the washer and dryer, but everything we hung up dried overnight. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, sunscreen and insect repellant. The house has tile floors, so you might want to bring slippers. For return to the US, it was very easy to get a rapid Covid antigen test at the pharmacy by the airport for 50 Euros, and we loved the aviation-themed pharmacy! In hindsight, we should have flown to St. Barth’s because the ferry from St. Martin was inconvenient, late, and uncomfortable. Car rental companies are at the airport, and Hertz transfers from the ferry to the airport and back were not dependable. Lesson learned for next time. Random favorite activity was visiting Super U, the grocery store by the airport. It was just fun and interesting. We took breakfast items and snacks back to the house. Biggest surprise: seeing 32 turtles as we started our hike to the beach at Colombier. A woman puts out food for them at 5 pm every day! Be prepared to say “Bonjour” to everyone you pass on hikes.

Beautiful island ... well equipped home.
Beautiful island ... well equipped home.
We throughly enjoyed our visit to St. Barths. The home is very centrally located on the island and it was quick to get around. The roads are extremely narrow and that takes some adjustment. We extended our stay and Marjorie was very accommodating with the request. When we stayed at the home it was just two adults but it could easily accommodate a larger family with children. The kitchen had everything to prepare meals and enjoy your stay. The restaurant recommendations were great and we had dinners out every night. I have vacationed in St. Maarten, Hawaii, Mexico, Aruba, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, St Thomas, Jamaica, and St Lucia and this was by far the nicest island I have ever visited.

We have been renting La Belle Vie for many years and can't imagine staying anywhere else! The house feels fresh and clean with lovely furnishings, crisp cotton bedding, and every comfort. We have stayed in luxury hotels in St. John, St. Thomas and St. Barth's, and have discovered that our entire family of 5 (plus the occasional grandparent) prefers Marjorie's La Belle Vie on St. Barth's to any other place we have been. The kids (now teens) think of it as "their" place and won't even consider going anywhere else - affordable, easy, lovely - we aways experience 'the good life' at La Belle Vie!!

I had been to St. Barths twice before but my husband had not been there. We had both been working pretty long hours and wanted a place to just relax and enjoy the scenery and each other. We did all of this and more. We were able to enjoy the scenery, eat wonderful meals in and out, shop and then ....there is the pool......we could not stay out of it. We would have a relaxing breakfast at the pool, and then lunch and go out and explore, have dinner and find ourselves having a night swim.....quiet, relaxing and all that we wanted. The house , itself, was perfect. It was immaculate, well appointed and beautifully decorated....we wanted for nothing.....A bottle of wine and some cheese awaited us and a wonderful manager was there for us if needed... My profession is Interior Design so I was looking for cleanliness, comfort, attractiveness and very well designed... After our first week we had a guest to join us and there was plenty of room, as there was 2 extra bedrooms and bath. This is separated for privacy for guests as well as our new found privacy and relax time... We will make plans to go back.......My husband is now a St. Barths fan and we will stay at Le Belle Vie. We travel lots and this is our favorite vacation spot.....our Four Seasons......
