The property was just about perfect for our needs. We brought our skiff and used a close by canal/ neighborhood boat ramp to be able to conveniently dock it behind the house. SO wonderful to just hop in and head out to fish or snorkel at the reefs (awesome reefs only 15-20 minute boat ride). The neighborhood was very quiet with the nicest of neighbors who gave us local fishing advice. The area is extremely pet friendly and our two enjoyed their stay. We rode the shuttle from a nearby CVS to Key West when the mood arose. The shuttle took about an hour and a half. If we drove ourselves, it was maybe 45. Big Pine Key was laid back and peaceful. Previously, we have always stayed in Key West. Now, we will always look for a place in Big Pine on a canal.
The property was as advertised and the manager Marie was always accessible and very pleasant to work with. We hope we will be able to return to this property. It definitely fit our needs.

The neighborhood is wonderful for taking walks and exploring.
The location is great and the house was comfortable, The manager was very responsive when we reported an issue. When we arrived, the air conditioner fan was running non-stop. We reported it, and it was fixed promptly.

Located on Big Pine Key, we were near enough to visit Key West (40 min) and Marathon (30 min), but out of the hustle and bustle of the crowds. The house is the third house in from open water on a very clean and deep canal, in a friendly, quiet neighborhood. We did not use the boat lift, so can't comment. This house has been recently painted inside and out. It has cute, beachy themed decorations throughout. Dishes, appliances, towels and linens are what you would expect in a rental house.
We used the kayaks and bicycles provided just about every day of our stay. Tips - if you want a PFD on the water, bring your own or buy them once you arrive, as there were none at the house. Also, we had to buy a lock since we rode the bikes to the store as well as in Key West. There is no upstairs, outdoor seating (deck). For a nice sunset view, you will walk to the end of the street (or kayak to the end of the canal) as we did several times.
If you play pickleball, there is a very active group right on the island and within biking distance.
A few maintenance things need to be taken care of - a light fixture was broken, bulbs were out, smoke detector needed replacing and sliding doors and screens were all sticking, but these are minor and might have been because no one had rented the house in the month before we arrived. Any questions we had were answered immediately by the owner.
Overall, this is a nice rental house in the beautiful Florida Keys!

They addressed any issues immediately and you can tell Todd takes pride in his home Had fun interacting with dolphins while kayaking and enjoyed a visit from 3 manatees right at the dock they will stay as long as you give them fresh water. We stayed for 6 weeks and although we were immediately after Irma, this property was ready for us to have a great vacation. We brought our boat with us and found some really great fishing in the Atlantic within 1/2 hour ride of the house. On non-windy days (our boat is only 22') it was also easy to get to the reef. We hope we have another chance to rent this home.

My husband and I spent two delightful months in this house -- January & February 2016. We were greeted by one of the owners who wanted to make sure we were pleased with how we found the house and answered our questions about the place. We contacted him with a question later in our stay, and he was eager to help resolve the issue we brought to him. The owners are easy to work with, and although they live off-site, they arrange it so the renter is taken care of.
The house is super clean, comfy, and nicely decorated. We loved the full bank of windows in the front room overlooking the canal. WiFi was excellent -- something important to us. The kitchen is well appointed with a large refrigerator and the easiest to clean stove I have ever experienced in a rental. (I like "easy to clean" when I'm on vacation!)
The location is ideal. We don't have a big boat, but the dock at this property would be ideal for fishermen with a boat. The open channel is very close. We like to kayak, and the shallow waters in the channel are a good place to look for sea life. When we took our morning walks we would often see a Key Deer or two. Occasionally, the deer would be on Ranger Avenue in the evenings, so we were careful when returning home after dark.
We used the park pass that came with the house to visit Bahia Honda and Long Key State Park. If it hadn't rained, we would have used it even more.
All in all, the property is wonderfully kept and well located as a base for activities in the Lower Keys.

I found this to be a great home. The house has been updated & has everything needed. A short walk in your slippers & you are at the end of the street facing the sunset in a chair. Great place to sip your coffee, or cocktail. I found kayaking to be pretty easy from here. Out of the canal, you can head under the A1A bridge and explore coastline, canals, or head out to the islands. If you are boating, you can be out on the gulf side quickly. If you paddle your kayak about 3/4 mile across the bay, happy hour at the bar ends at 5. Bahia Honda pass included.

Convient, quiet & clean
We were the first renters of the new owners who had updated the house. Cleanest, best stocked house we have ever rented. Owners very interested in the comfort of renters. Mattress in master bedroom a pillow top and was wonderful. House is very convient to stores which are less than 2 miles away and only 30 miles from Key West. The drive is easy with lots of things to do there. If you have a boat as we did, water around island is verrrry shallow and you can bottom out and get stuck as we did. Boat towing insurance a good idea for $158 verses about $1,000 if you get towed. Only problem with the house is the noise of the A/C in the 2nd bedroom closet and the washer/dryer in hall, but owner indicated they are looking at constructing a wall to deaden sound.
