Nestled in Otisfield, this charming cabin for $220 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of a quiet mountain lake, towering pines, amazing sunsets and dark night skies filled with bright, sparkling stars. Our lakefront cabin overlooks Saturday Pond, a spring-fed, crystal clear lake which is home to several loons, hawks, great blue herons, osprey and an occasional eagle and moose. The lake is 179 acres with maximum depths of about 25 feet and has bass, perch and pickerel in its waters which makes for great fishing. Saturday Pond is located in the town of Otisfield, Maine about 35 miles northwest of Portland near the Sebago Lakes region. This charming 2-bedroom cabin is neat, clean, comfortable and has many of the amenities of home. A cathedral ceiling great room houses the living, kitchen and dining areas and provides spectacular views of the lake. Step out the living room door and enjoy your morning cup of coffee on the deck. The cabin can comfortably accommodate a family of four. The great room has a futon which can open up to sleep additional guests. Or, inquire about our other cabin located nearby - great for another family or set of friends. Your very own private compound on the lake! Perfect for those lazy days of summer filled with swimming, canoeing, fishing (off the dock or in one of the lake’s coves), reading a book in the hammock, picking blueberries, lobster dinners, barbecues, and cooking marshmallows for s’mores over the fire pit. For a change of scenery, drive to the Maine coast for the day to swim at one of its many beaches, visit its lighthouses and quaint towns. Or, enjoy the crisp days of autumn, fall foliage and breathtaking mountain views while visiting the many antique shops, gift stores, local farm stands and country fairs. Designer outlet shopping abounds only forty-five minutes away in the Mount Washington area of North Conway, New Hampshire or about an hour’s drive to Freeport, the home of the original LL Bean store. Or, visit the many shops and fine restaurants also an hour away in the Old Port Exchange in Portland.

We stayed 3 nights, but wished we’d had more. The cabin was totally equipped for a fun stay. The hostess was very sweet and readily available. Such a beautiful location and a wonderful stay.

Our stay at Ellen's place was wonderful! Everything was very clean and even better than the pictures in the listing portrayed. The property was beautiful with a private dock to enjoy the lake view. Nice and quiet getaway spot!

I can't say enough about this quaint, well equipped cabin in the most gorgeous spot. Our family of 4 plus 2 small dogs were very sad to leave. Ellen is a wonderful host with excellent communication and the property leaves nothing to be desired.. except more time there!

We booked very last minute for a family weekend getaway. The host was responsive and super helpful throughout. She even let us check out late so the kids could kayak before we left! The cottage is adorable and well stocked. The view out the dining room window was gorgeous. We were there during leaf peeping season and the views were amazing. We loved kayaking, that we could bring our dogs, and the peacefulness there. You will definitely enjoy it!!

The cabin is absolutely lovely, well appointed with taste and just a little whimsy. We had everything we needed and when the coffee maker didn't work properly Ellen quickly swapped it out for a new they had on hand, and asked the next day if it work. The property is idyllic- a short walk on a soft easy path to the pond shore where there is a dock. The hammock under the tree was a favorite spot too. Really it was everything I was wishing for. The area is very sweet, the smell of pines almost intoxicating. Cute little towns with other ponds and lakes are everywhere and everyone was very friendly. Ellen and Jeff are friendly and helpful. I can recommend this rental without hesitation!

Ellen & Jim couldn't have been nicer hosts. We went after the season and lucked out on a perfect fall weekend. Saturday Pond is a stunning lake. Not to many motor boats at all and a perfect spot to enjoy kayaking or canoeing both of which were available to use. The cabin was everything we expected. And we got the rest we went for and enjoyed 3 nights of spectacular sunsets.

This is the best of Maine. A lovely little cabin with all the conveniences and a wonderful Finnish fire place to keep it cozy. Views of the pretty lake from inside and outside, quiet enough to hear the call of the loons. A great weekend. We really enjoyed a hike at the Two Ponds Nature Preserve nearby, as well.

Perfect in every way ! This is the best equipped cabin I have ever stayed in .......even has a land line !! I felt at home as soon as I walked in the door. So happy we picked this cabin, we has a fantastic stay.

Simple Abundance is just that. A simple cabin with an abundance of joy and memories that can be made between you and a spouse, a random getaway, or family fun. My experience with the property manager Ellen and Jim was nothing short of amazing. Every question answered in a timely fashion, cabin was ready before we were told it would be as well. I look forward to many memories on Jaakkola Lane.

My two adult children and I enjoyed a peaceful retreat at this lovely cottage! Quiet mornings of coffee under the pines, sunny afternoons swimming off the dock, beautiful sunsets while kayaking, and all around delightful long summer days of family time for renewal.
