About this cottage rental
Creekside Carriage House is situated on almost 2 acres alongside Baron's Creek, and directly behind the owners' popular Creekside Farmhouse vacation rental. Creekside Carriage House is available as an adjunct to Creekside Farmhouse, or as its own private rental. Featuring amazing views of Baron's Creek and lush, grassy fields - you will feel like you are in the country, but are only 2 blocks from Main Street, and a short walk to all of the downtown attractions. Take the steps down to Baron's Creek for a stroll by the water, watch the wildlife from the treehouse-like loft, or lounge on the brand new deck overlooking the creek. This is what vacations are all about! Remodeled in the Summer of 2017, with a new deck added in June, 2021, Creekside Carriage House features a large downstairs game-room/lounge with a custom built bar, fridge, sink, 65-inch flat screen TV, sitting area and half bath. Directly upstairs is a sunny loft - surrounded by picture windows exposing breathtaking views of Baron's Creek and beyond. The light in this room is amazing, and it's no wonder it was formerly used by a talented artist as her studio. Several of her colorful paintings are featured in the home. A pull-out couch in the loft provides sleeping for two, and an additional roll-away cot (stored in the closet) can be used for another guest. The spacious kitchen/dining area is colorfully decorated - with new appliances, a bright blue butcher-block island, soft green cabinets, tin countertops and a long dining table seating 6. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, plates and glasses. The master bedroom is cozy but spacious - with luxurious linens, a comfortable king size bed, a make-up table, and an adorable window seat. Large windows flank the bed, and feature more beautiful views, but softer light that is filtered through huge overhanging trees - perfect for sleeping-in! The bathroom sports a handcrafted vanity, shower/tub and skylight - keeping things light and bright. Spa-quality soaps and shampoo are nestled in a basket by the sink. You won't want to leave this charming refuge, where country meets city, and downtown Fredericksburg is just steps away. We hope to see you soon! - - The McKinneys

Fantastic place to experience all Fredericksburg has to offer. Walk to town no problem! Quick trip to wineries! Best part is you have peace and tranquility while close to the action. Owner is very helpful and responsive. Overall no question 5 stars for me. We will be back for sure.

Stayed at the Carriage House with my 3 children when we came to Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest and the property is gorgeous! Clean, great location, nice porch with patio lights to drink coffee in the morning or hang out at night, and beautiful view of the creek from the upstairs windows. Just a short walk to Main Street. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

My husband and I were able to sneak away for a quick weekend. The Carriage house was the perfect place for us! It’s on the beautiful barons creek- very relaxing, quiet and serene. We enjoyed our coffee outside in the morning- such a treat! The house is decorated beautifully and the bed is super comfortable! It’s in a dreamy location- close to town and close to the vineyards as well. Living room, 1/2 bath and bar downstairs. Loft, full kitchen, dining, bedroom and full bath upstairs. A very nice, quiet neighborhood! Hope to visit again soon!

The cottage was just right for our family of four. Clean and had everything we needed. We loved how it was in town but the nearby creek made it feel like we were in the country. Host responded promptly and was easy to communicate with.

The property was even better than expected. It was spotless, in a very quiet neighborhood, and walkable to Main St. We enjoyed the outside space, the comfortable furnishings, and the thoughtful touches found throughout the home. Communication with the owner was clear and concise. We would love to stay here again in the future!

We were a little worried because it is above the garage at the rear of the property, but we were quite surprised when we walked in. It was absolutely fantastic and more spacious that we could have imagined. The bed was very comfortable and the view of the creek was perfect!

This property was fantastic. Pictures don't do it justice! Location was great--secluded with great nature access but also very walkable to Main Street. We had a couple minor hiccups at check-in, but the property manager was wonderful and got everything sorted for us very quickly. Loved our visit to the Carriage House. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay
The carriage house was wonderfully appointed. The location is close to town, yet you feel as though you are in the country. We enjoyed the deck and the creek view. The driveway was tricky with an suv when the main house is occupied, but we managed. The lovely property manager gave us some tips on how to manager the parking. We would definitely stay there again.

I could go on and on and on about this rental! We were greeted to soft music playing and it instantly felt like home. All the little touches throughout made our time inside so enjoyable. The bar area downstairs was perfect for quick refills while enjoying the new deck/patio area while watching the deer and listening to the creek trickle by. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the bed was amazingly comfortable and topped with linens that you just melt in. I cannot say enough about this place, pictures just don’t do it justice. The only items that I’d like to mention as “would’ve been nice to have” would be the lighting outside, but I definitely think it’s worth noting that I truly believe this is not something that has been overlooked, but in the works! Buck and his family have gone above and beyond with every little detail I’m sure we booked before they have had the opportunity to put their amazing twist on the newly added outside area. There were string lights up over the fire pit area in the space between the carriage house and the farmhouse. I’m assuming those could be controlled from the farmhouse. I have a feeling something similar is coming for the carriage house outside area as well! This definitely didn’t stop us from our late night porch dancing, we just opened the shades and let the lights from inside light up our new dance floor on the deck! There was a portable speaker provided and we got our use out of it for sure!!!! Definitely will be booking again!

Gorgeous House
What a gorgeous house! Everything was beautiful and clean. Highly recommended. The property is perfect walking distance from Main Street. The view outside is great, and the grape tree was a pleasant surprise by the creek. Would recommend lighting by porch to enjoy the outdoors at night. Great host!

Perfect Location
I loved staying in this loft apartment. You feel like you are in a treehouse when you are upstairs. Every window has a beautiful view of trees and the creek below. The owners have done a fantastic job decorating this space. It was a perfect set up for my two daughters to work remotely while enjoying the wineries and peach season. I will definitely try to stay here again!

Great location! It has a nice and relaxing view of the creek from the deck. It's close to downtown Fredericksburg but "feels" like you are in the country, so it's the best of both worlds. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to stay here again.

The only downside to the stay is the property has two homes or locations available for rent so may not be as private as you would hope but in our case our neighbors were friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were able to get in and out and we also returned the favor to make it as convenient for both sides. Overall, highly recommend if you want a quiet location close to downtown or main street and still within reasonable walking distance if you don't mind walking 1/4 mile or so to get to main street. If you rent both the farmhouse and carriage house this would be an excellent location for a family reunion or get together.
