If you are looking for a nostalgic and simple place that will remind you of coming to the Cape in the 70s and 80s with your parents and grandparents, this place is for you. Aside from two window a/c units in 2 of the bedrooms, there really are no frills. The place did get wicked hot with almost no protection from the August sun. The front of the house got full-on sun in the morning and the deck and kitchen got the blast of sun when you were cooking dinner and wanted to eat outside. Despite a generous amount of fans plus fans we brought, the house never seemed to cool even when the heat wave broke. Didn't help that the blinds on the big bay window in the front didn't work. There were a lot of other repairs and updates that were needed. The fridge barely kept things at the right temperature. Things we had brought at the beginning of the week spoiled and ice cream (you need ice cream!) became unintentionally soft serve. The screen door screens were all blown out and were no protection from bugs. The tub didn't drain well. In retrospect, I made the mistake of thinking not having a dishwasher wasn't going to be bad. There is a little adventure associated with this place. It will take a few days to figure out what lights go to what switches. (Here's a hint to help - the basement light switch is no where near the door to the basement! ;-)). It also took a little bit of searching to find the half bath. No hint here. I'll save that adventure for you. The house was 4/10ths of a mile from Haigis Beach. A bit of a walk but not bad. A good number of parking spots and the house is bigger than it appeared on line, still felt a bit cramped with 4-5 adults.
