The breakfast meals were exceptional. Amazing food.
Totally unexpected how good the quality of food was. The chefs & cooks made a lot of the food themselves as the Island has some home grown produce, but otherwise they need to make there own. Daily fresh baked bread, homemade pasta and ice cream & beautiful desserts and sweets. Daily fresh caught fish. Not to mention great cocktails by Ben.

5 Stars all the way. Do not hesitate booking this gem. If you are looking for a place to relax, connect with the Fijian culture and dive, this is the place for you. The hospitality is out of this world, the staff address you as if you are part of their family, the place is quiet and relaxing, the eco-part of the resort really lives up to its values, and finally the diving has been one of the best spots we’ve ever experienced in the world.
All was perfect. ❤️

The property is amazing - the staff super caring and attentive! Beautiful dive spots all around: I’m grateful I had the opportunity to dive although I was the only guest willing to do so.
I gave all my feedback - based on my personal preferences of course - during my stay. Grateful about how open and receptive the staff was about them!
As a solo traveler, I would have appreciated the possibility to have the full board rate adjusted to the stay of one person only, rather than paying for two.

Great staff, beautiful resort with so much to do for the whole family. Management and staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs with small kids, from eating arrangements to activities, it couldn't have been better.

This intimate but spacious resort is very special. Kandavu and Oneta is beautiful, with immaculate gardens, and the bures and common spaces connected by boardwalks are infused with traditional style and architecture which gave the place a soul, compared to other resorts. The manager Richard and his team are exceptional hosts, with a lot of thought and care put into every detail of the stay from the minute you step off the boat until the moment you leave. There is ample generosity; you have complimentary snacks at the bar, local coconut oil in the Bure, fresh daily baked biscuits, and twice a day your Bure is turned down, with fresh flowers scattered throughout. It feels like a home away from home, where you are welcome to use all the facilities and help yourself to teas, coffee and home baked treats in the main bure. And it is not just the guests that are taken care of, Oneta gives back to local communities and supports initiatives to help the environment and the people living there. Richard is a man of positive energy, attention to detail, stories and affection for Fiji. He dines with guests and it’s a great opportunity to learn about the area and Fijian culture. The main bure is a beautiful grand structure made in the traditional way with polished wood floors, a mix of spacious lounges, all looking out to the beachfront and palm trees where lilos and hammocks hang. It is where all meals are served on the communal table, and the sunset bar opens in the late afternoon to serve cocktails and beer, accompanied by nibbles. The daily excursions are varied and unique to the area, the snorkelling off the reef was the best we saw, plus the manta rays which was a special experience. Other guests did fishing, scuba, waterfall hikes, and a sunset bird tour. There is also excellent masseuses on site. We stayed 3 nights which was not long enough, I would recommend four at a minimum, taking into account getting there takes time.
While it’s not a criticism at all, something just to be aware of is the boat ride out is long - about 1hr30 - on open water and the ocean can have large swells and wind. It is a good idea to plan ahead how you’ll go on the ride if you have seasickness, need special assistance, or are elderly.

I could not recommend Oneta more to those searching for a place to unwind in nature and explore the amazing Kadavu Island group - home to the Astolabe Reef.
The surrounding nature is second to none; the home reef alone is worth coming for. Just a five minute boat ride away you can swim with manta-rays which we had the pleasure of experiencing. The diving is also incredible and all the staff at the dive Centre are very professional. The gear is top of the line and in fantastic condition.
The staff are so warm and welcoming. We felt very spoilt being the first guests after Covid and the laughter that runs through the place is incredibly uplifting. You can definitely see this every day when the whole crew plays volleyball or at a Kava ceremony- both of which guests are encouraged to join. The owners Liz and Martin are so passionate and dedicated to not only providing a beautiful resort for their guests but improving the land upon which the resort is situated. There is such a great energy that runs through Oneta due to the fantastic community that keeps it running.
We can’t wait to return again!! This place is such a hidden gem & a rarity in a modern Fiji which can be quite commercialized. You will find a truly rare experience coming to Oneta <3

We loved our stay at Oneta Resort - it is one of the best holidays we've been on. The staff are absolutely incredible, the location superb, and there are plenty of great activities to keep you very busy (if you don't feel like simply relaxing by the beach).
Each meal is delicious, with dinner being a three course meal every night (accompanied by freshly baked bread rolls). Ask for kokoda (a local fish dish) - if you like fish you'll really enjoy this dish.
We went to Oneta to go diving, and had an exceptional time doing so. We finished our open water certifications in Fiji with Dive Fiji (Oneta's on-site dive shop) PADI instructors Ale and Sergi, and then went on to do some more dives. Ale and Sergi are excellent instructors, there's plenty of great equipment, and the reef is full of life. We saw all sorts of fish (parrotfish, pufferfish, anemone fish, and clown fish to name a few), some sharks, dolphins and eagle rays. We also went snorkelling with the mantarays, which was amazing.
In addition to diving and snorkelling, we hunted crabs at night, went kayaking, visited a nearby village, and did the sunset cruise. All were fabulous, and we would highly recommend all of these activities.
Next time we are at Oneta, we are keen to do more of everything we did this time, plus go kayaking up through the mangroves and do some hiking on Ono Island (which we didn't have time to do this time around).
Thank you Liz, Gabby, Ani, Milika, Maria, Akuila, Jonani and the rest of the team for taking such good care of us, and to Ale and Sergi for teaching us how to dive!
We didn't spend enough time there - we are going to have to go back!

A very special small full service resort that treats visitors as guests rather than customers, and spoiled us rotten. The desire of all the resort staff to please meant our every need was met from the boat pickup at Kadavu Airport to our drop off there six days later. The high speed boating, communal meals, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming with Manta Rays, picnics on the beach, sunset cruise, crab hunting, kava ceremony etc. might not be for everybody, but it sure worked its magic with us. Oneta resort is so much more than just a place to stay.
Having to leave.
