About this house rental

Please ask yourself: "Should I choose to have my family stay at a small, older type, cottage located on a postage stamp size lot or should I provide them with the opportunity to experience a real vacation at a beautiful, 2003 custom built, luxury, 8 room, well appointed year round home on a .62 acre waterfront lot with 2 large docks? If your answer is yes to the latter, then we suggest that you reserve your stay as soon as possible. Our Home is located on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. Linen and towels are included and provided when requested. Swimming, boating, tubing, water skiing, wake boarding, scuba diving, sailing and fishing are just a few of the activities available in the Lakes Region. The town has a recreation center with tennis courts, and a ball field. Swimming from our dock or wading in is possible. Swim tubes are also included. Some of the many other activities are table air hockey, DVD, Wii, Wi-Fi, board games and videos. Children enjoy catching fish from the dock, paddling our two kayaks and floating on our swim tubes. Alton Bay has craft fairs. Hiking on Alton Mountain or climbing Mount Major and taking family pictures with the lake in the background is very popular. The cruise ship M/S Mount Washington leaves from Alton Bay on Sundays and on Thursdays. Brunch on board is an available option. Eating at restaurants where you can enjoy your favorite foods locally is possible. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, glasses and containers. One full bathroom is conveniently located between the master suite and the second bedroom and these are separated for additional privacy from the main living area by a pocket door. Another full bathroom with a walk in shower is centrally available off of the kitchen. The third full bathroom is located on the lower level. There is a slider off of the dining area leading to an open deck overlooking the lake. The main level kitchen features views, granite counter tops and birch cabinets. The large center island food preparation/breakfast bar adds seating capacity. Your family will appreciate dining while seated at a beautiful oak dining table when they experience the added pleasure of a western exposure, a panoramic waterfront view of the southern end of Alton Bay, the eastern slope of Alton Mountain and gorgeous sunsets. The front-to-back living room with its field stone fireplace and wall to wall waterfront windows is a great place for the family to get together and share the moment. The patio overlooking the lakefront is a great place to lounge and see what is happening on the water. The granite counter tops, high ceilings and Andersen windows attest to the homes highest standards. The tile flooring creates a dramatic look in the entrance foyer that opens to a living room with a fieldstone fireplace. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, 2 refrigerators, a washer and dryer area and a dining area on the main level. There is also a living room, a dining room and a bedroom on the walkout lower level. There are ceiling fans in all of the main level rooms including the bedrooms. There are lake and mountain views from every room. Relax near the stone fireplace while viewing the watercraft activity through large waterfront windows. The dining area, kitchen and breakfast area create a bright atmosphere. The main floor master bedroom suite is a private retreat. We love families. Children are always welcome. Sleeps a maximum of 10 including children: Features a queen size bed in bedroom # 1, a double size bed in bedroom # 3 and a bunk bed plus a twin bed in bedroom # 2. Bedroom # 4 (located on the lower level) has the same sleeping arrangement as bedroom # 2 plus a sleep-in sofa on the living room.. Our open concept, waterfront, luxury home on Lake Winnipesaukee features a gas fireplace, a spacious kitchen and a dining area all on the main level. Ask and we will provide you with the names of marinas located on the lake where you can rent a boat. Our crib dock can accommodate up to a 24 foot boat including a 24 foot pontoon boat. Also, boat operator driving a watercraft capable of reaching 25 miles per hour must have a marine operator’s license from any state. We can provide you with the contact for information on how someone from your family can obtain an operator’s license online if they don’t already have one. Bathers can use the swim ladder, jump off of the dock or wade in. Our waterfront lake bottom is sandy and has a gradual slope. Toddlers enjoy playing in the small sandy area between our two docks. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or dinner from the deck or patio. Watch the magnificent sunset reflect on the lake as it slowly disappears behind Saddleback Mountain.. Enjoy a game of driveway basketball, yard badminton or horseshoes. _______________________________________ Thank you for considering staying in our lake home. We enjoyed our stay, never stayed in Alton Bay before, not my favorite area of the lake, it is busier with boat traffic. However, the house had all that we needed.

I liked that it was secluded and quiet but still a quick drive to either Alton or Wolfeboro and only 20 minutes to Guilford. Hannaford supermarket was conveniently close and always well stocked. Having the 2 docks was very helpful and created a safe beach area between the 2. Plenty of water toys (inflatables and kayaks) to play with. Nice views of the mountains across the lake and of the evening sunset. Summers seem to be getting hotter in NH and, just as most other homes on the lake, there is no AC. It did get warm in the house but we could always find shade outdoors facing the lake during the day. Linens were provided free of charge. Internet worked great. Owner was very friendly and responsive and met us and gave us a tour of the property when we arrived. We absolutely enjoyed our 2 weeks there.

Perfect spot for two families with younger kids. The two docks were great, plenty of room for our boat and two jet skis. Great location in Alton Bay, a few minute ride to the town docks for ice cream or takeout. House was plenty big and had lots of beds, and three full bathrooms was a big plus. There is a steep walk to the water, but it is well maintained so not so bad for us, could be harder for some. Overall we had a great week!
