The view was amazing and the staff were very nice. The beach is stunning which makes the stay worth it for a night or two
The building was outdated and secluded. The food was not to our liking and we couldn’t access other options. The bed was Japanese style mattress on the floor which we did not find very comfortable.

Location was great, staff was kind and very helpful. The food was very good.
I find it a little unreasonable for a beach resort to not offer beach towels unless you pay extra to rent them. We purchased towels in town for cheaper. I feel the same about requiring anyone wanting to snorkel to wear a life jacket and again requiring you pay extra to use them.

The location is the reason to visit - come here while it’s like this as I wouldn’t be surprised to find it had been taken over by a major hotel chain in the future .The beach is the best for snorkelling as there aren’t restrictions and if you want a guide the snorkel trip out of the bay is great . The view is breathtaking. The hotel is basic but has a lovely charm as the staff are fabulous . I had just come from the 5 star Hyatt and I much preferred it here . The free transfers to and from the port and to Aharen beach are great.
Read the reviews and tailor your expectations of the room which is basic and clean . The food was delicious ( but some could have been kept warmer) . If you are into snorkelling this is the best beach to stay at as Aharen Beach is too restricted but nice to visit as there are cafes to eat lunch . The rental gear is 9-5.30 so bring your own maybe if you want to go earlier / later . There is a good little shop on site for drinks / beer/ snacks . The room has a hairdryer and kettle . There is no hair conditioner ( unusual for Japan ). Good AC .
As others have said - some areas need updating . My room and bathroom were perfectly clean and adequate for what I needed . The view is the best - a lick of paint on the balcony would be appreciated.
Forget the negatives though as the positives outweigh it all .

Food was good, hotel front beach was amazing.
Whole time Wi-Fi was not working, staff are but rude to foreigners. Location is too far from ferry station. There is no facility if you want to explore from hotel.
