The location is fabulous, so well-preserved, with old trees, a pond and a bridge. Our room had a patio with a lake view -fabulous for having breakfast. The presidential suite we had booked was nicely decorated with a huge bathroom and 2 showerheads .
We had booked the hotel because of so many superb reviews. Unfortunately, we weren't happy there. The kitchen had a specific smell coming from a fridge the freezer section of which contained some food (meat, buns). The bed mattress was too hard to have quality sleep. Moreover, the curtains cover just part of the windows and there is too much light in the early hours.
When you enter the house, you are kindly asked to take off the shoes. I don't mind, however, no slippers are provided which raises an issue about hygiene.
The breakfast was OK, far from exceptional indicated by some guests.
