Fabulous cozy little cottage
Nothing.

Character filled cottage, warm and cosy. Friendly host.
Nothing particular.

Nearly everything. Welcome, clean, homely, comfortable, good shower, comfortable bed
Stairs were challenging. Essential part of the cottage and it's a listed building so no complaints

Nice cottage, slightly out of Crediton but with easy walking access to the high street (5 mins). Excellent high street, full of local businesses, only one chain on it (Costa). Cottage was quiet, comfy, good WiFi, excellent fridge / freezer, TV smallish but probably not possible to get a bigger one in. Separate shower and bath in the bathroom. Reasonable water pressure. Lovely firm mattress gave a good nights sleep. Host Kath is excellent, responds very quickly to txt. Very good wood burner. Quaint medieval staircase is attractive to look at. Parking is possible a street or so away, took me about 3 mins to walk back. You can stop outside the cottage to unload, but beware school time of 3:20 - 3:40pm. The heating is not set on a timer, so you can turn it on and control the temperature as you wish during the day. Lovely church at the end of the road.
The quaint medieval staircase. Wow, is it dangerous if you have any sort of mobility impairment - spiral, uneven, irregular, especially accessing the bathroom in the night, not sure if a stairgate could be fitted for safety. Personally, I would have preferred a dishwasher to the washing machine, I guess that's personal preference. Parking is possible nearby, and I was lucky, but it could easily be a problem. Single glazing leads to condensation and mold on the bathroom windows. The heating is not set on a timer - so it gets cold during the night. If you are bringing back food or heavy items, it can be a longish walk back from the shops.

quirky comfortable and clean. good central location
stairs were quite difficult

The host was very helpful and the courage was just what I needed. It was certainly cosy and well equipped.
I may be past the age for cottages with tight staircases and there was a bit of noise on the Saturday night - but not really unexpected given the age of the cottage and its town location.

The cottage was absolutely lovely! So quaint. It was warm and cosy with everything we needed. A warm welcome from lovely Kath who handed over our key. It was nice to have milk and luxury cookies on arrival, to go with the tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Really nice to have a bath as well as a separate shower. Great to have a go with the wood burner too.! The cottage is in a quiet side street, a short walk to the town's shops and the train station with regular trains to Exeter (12mins) and Barnstaple (approx 50 mins). Would highly recommend this beautiful cottage and hope to return!

Cottage was spotlessly clean and extremely well looked after. Everything you could possibly need was provided.
Kath made us feel at home and that nothing was too much trouble
Not very keen on twisted stairs, not easy to negotiate but that is part of it's charm
8.0
The cottage, being old, had character but was comfortable and had everything I needed to be self catering. The milk in the fridge & packet of biscuits on arrival were very welcome.
A small inconvenience was the fact that car parking was on an adjoining street, although on arrival one could stop outside the cottage to unload.
10.0
It was a self catering cottage and very well appointed - it had everything that we required. The host was very obliging and even collected us from the station.
It was a Grade 2 listed building and as such was constructed many years ago.
It had a spiral staircase that was a bit tricky.

Very convenient. Nice touches eg milk etc.
Good info without lots of officious notices!
Sofa especially comfortable.
For us it was a bit dark but that was not a big
problem as we were out all day.

An excellent little cottage. Exceptionally clean. It had everything you’d need for a very enjoyable stay. Lovely comfy bed, great shower. Very quaint. I’d definitely recommend it. The owner Kathy kept in touch leading up to the stay. She also helped me book taxis and recommended local restaurants.
10.0
A beautiful, cosy cottage with great facilities and details. The staircase is very impressive and the bed and settee were both very comfy. Kath was a great host and extremely kind and welcoming. Parking was no issue - on road parking is barely a minute's walk away and we didn't get stuck searching once, despite it being half term holidays. We would definitely like to return - perhaps when its chillier so we can try out the fireplace!
Crediton itself is a really nice place for a break with lots of independent shops - including a boardgame shop - and a very nice local pub. The surrounding area is beautiful with lots to see and do. Inglenook makes an excellent base from which to explore Devon.

The cottage was welcoming, clean with modern and traditional all mixed into one. Really nice and comfortable.
There was nothing I didn't like it was perfect.

Very friendly welcome by host at the front door explaining what's what. Everything needed for a long term stay and extra details thought about too such as marigolds, sponges and fresh milk in the fridge!
Parking can be a bit tricky and the stairs are quite steep and narrow but this is to be expected with the period of cottage.

Nice and cosy, we had the fire roaring.
A short walk into town.
Fairly close to dartmoor

Wonderful Grade 2 Listed characterful cottage.
Hundreds of years of history.
Cosy lounge area with a wood burning stove. Wood, kindling, paper, matches and tools provided. An optional 'treat' as the property has full gas central heating.
The bathroom has both a full size bath and separate shower cubicle.
High quality toiletries were provided.
Good quality bedding and towels.
Well equipped kitchen, large fridge and freezer.
Washer Dryer, microwave, coffee pod machine, toaster etc. Electric Fanned Oven and Gas Hob. Everything you'll need for 'a home away from home'! The town has supermarkets and the choice many good shops. Several take away and restaurants that offer delivery service.
I thank Kath for the warm welcome and little treats. Coffee Pods, tea bags, milk and biscuits !;o)
The bedroom was surprisingly large with solid wooden furniture. Bedside cupboards, wardrobe and suitcase rack. Comfortable mattress.
Excellent FREE Fast WiFi throughout.
Railway Station and town centre each about a ten minute walk away.
Ancient parish church at the end of the street (a 'must see').
We used the excellent train service to Exeter, only a 12 minute journey.
Trains every hour.
The station has a Café.
Direct trains to Barnstaple and now Okehampton on The Dartmoor Line!
A change at Exeter takes you to Exmouth and the seaside in under a hour (if you get the timings right).
Use The GWR App to purchase 'e tickets' in advance and check the timetable!
We just left our car parked across from the end of the street (opposite end to the church) and walked around.
Kath provides several booklets about things to do and see. There are also helpfull notes and instructions.
Now, original historic features such as the staircase are great to look at BUT can be difficult to use! Care must be taken as there are steps up and down between each and every room. You also have to watch that you don't bang your head against a beam or a low door frame.
That said, it's really great to be able to stay in such an ancient house. You soon get used to "the cottage's quirky aspects"!
After all that's part of the reason that we chose to stay here.. "The Character"!!
Parking could be a problem however we were pre-warned! That there was NO parking allowed in the street.
We did find free parking just a short walk away in another road. We just left our car parked up. We walked around the town and used the train to visit Exeter and Exmouth.

Inglenook Cottage is in quiet side street in Crediton.
It's well placed for the bus (bottom of the road) and train station ( about ten minutes walk) so park your car up and just use public transport which is both reliable and good value to do your exploring.
Kath keeps the cottage spotlessly clean and it's very well equipped for all your needs.
It's a step back in time with it's 18th century windy wooden staircase, it's so cosy!
The bed is super comfy and the shower is great, there's even a bath!
The wood burner is a doddle to get going and if that's not your thing there's central heating anyway.
Dean St. is located at the bottom of the High St. and there are plenty of food options and pubs should you want to venture out. The cottage is actually only a couple if doors along from The Plymouth Inn but strangely they didn't seem too fussed on customers going in there, a huge dog blocking the door put an end to our attempt to get in, the "gaffer" never ventured to the door to beckon us in so that was their loss, plenty of other pubs to try (including a Wetherspoons) just a few minutes walk up the hill on the main street.
Lots if little deli type shops with Morrisons, Co-op and two Tescos to go at in such a small town so you are pretty much covered for supplies, you can also pick up wood for the fire from these.
We had nice food at The Three Pigs pub in the Market Square and a lovely curry at The Crediton Tandoori.
Lots of friendly locals in the pubs who welcomed us as old mates giving us recommendations for trips out and places to visit.
We did Barnstaple by train, which was a great way to get from South to North Devon and the South Coast using our Exeter plus day return ticket on the bus which was exceptional value at just over six quid each and we could have got as far down as Plymouth - we just ventured to Dawlish with a pit stop at Cockwood harbour on the way back for a lovely pint at the Anchor pub!
Nothing, everything was brilliant.

Cosy cottage in easy reach of the station and town centre. Well equipped kitchen: everything i needed was supplied. Supermarket nearby but a quiet street with good countryside walks a few minutes away.

The cottage is near the centre of Crediton between the station and the shops, The bathroom is great having a shower and a bath. The host left some milk, tea, coffee, biscuits and condiments which although we brought our own is a nice touch. There is a motorbike cafe at the end of the road which has Friday evening socials from 5-9, the pub a few doors along does not have a sign outside and does not seem to have real ale. I went to the JD Wetherspoon pub which has a nice garden, The artisan bakers and second hand book shop in the main road are excellent. It is difficult to find on street parking in the evening, there is a free car park by the station but I used the pay and display behind Lloyds Bank and JD Wetherspoon which is well lit and reasonably priced and only 10 mins walk from the cottage. I also used the Tesco Express and Co-Op.
No complaints

A lovely little cottage house, with some amazing features, especially the original wooden staircase and beams....very quaint., with a great log burner for cosy nights. Perfect for a couple.

Beautiful little cottage. Full of character. Spotlessly clean. Nicely equipped. I didn't get to meet Kath but the communication over text was excellent. Don't be put off by the lack of parking. There is plenty just up the road, just a minutes walk from the property. You can easily part right outside to unload and reload the car afterwards. I highly recommend this cottage.
