Personally, this is by far the best place I’ve stayed during my month-long trip around Vietnam (I mean, of course, in this category; but I honestly believe it surpasses even many upper-class hotels in terms of comfort). You won’t find anything better—these rooms are well-maintained and specifically tailored to Western tastes and needs. But above all: the cleanliness is amazing; I dare you to prove otherwise. I’ve never seen a cleaner room in Vietnam. The reception staff was responsive and attentive, with a good level of English, a focus on customer service, and smiles from everyone. The laundry service was extremely fast, with same-day return (45,000 per kilo, weighed in front of me on a scale next to the reception desk). But the room is what really impresses: as mentioned, the level of cleanliness (cleaned daily without you even having to ask) is exceptionally high; the furnishings are new, minimalist yet tasteful, generally chosen to ensure a comfortable and warm atmosphere—an effect further enhanced by the various lighting options. The bathroom is truly elegant, featuring a spacious enclosed shower with a strong, hot water flow. But above all, a special mention goes to the mattress: it’s clearly a matter of taste, but personally, I slept incredibly well in that bed. If I stayed an extra night, it was partly because of this bed—believe me. I distinctly remember the pleasure of sleeping in that bad. Fridge, two bottles of water restocked daily during housekeeping. The air conditioning is excellent, and even though it’s located above the head of the bed, it has a “dehumidifier” setting, so you don’t feel any airflow blowing on you at night. PLUS: The café owned by the same management/family, Alice Tea Room—which is directly connected to the homestay—is a truly charming spot, with lots of greenery (real plants), plenty of fans, and always nice customers; in short, it’s the perfect place to stop by and take a breather. Staff: lovely!

NOTE (which isn't a bad thing): I had booked a room that I knew would have NO WINDOW. And, of course, I was a little worried about that. Please do not hesitate: the windowless rooms—aside from the fact that, as mentioned, they feature well-designed, perfect lighting with separate light sources for day and night—still have a large “slot window” in the bathroom. So you’re not cut off from the outside world, and through that spot you can see what the sky looks like outside and adjust your clothing accordingly, for example. Or simply enjoy the natural light that streams in abundantly in the morning. In short, you won’t miss having a window. Trust me. NOTE 2 (which isn't a bad thing, again): The room where I stayed had—as you can see in some of the photos on the page—a glass wall separating the sleeping area from the bathroom. It’s very, very, very beautiful from an aesthetic and architectural standpoint, but if there are two of you and you’re not a couple, keep that in mind. However, there are thick curtains that you can draw along the wall for privacy.
