Delight Residence

In advance, I sent a message to the hotel that I needed a quiet and secluded room. Also, I needed a couple of extra pillows because of my back. All this was arranged when I arrived. I discovered that there was no chair in the room, so I asked for one at reception and the next day the cleaning staff brought a chair. The mattress in the bed was very comfortable and not hard as it often is in hotels in Thailand. The receptionists, cleaning staff and other staff were welcoming and cheerful. A plus is that there is a small private shop on the first floor of the same building and outside it there was street food. An excellent place to relax a bit before your next flight destination. The place is about 15/20 minutes from Don Mueang airport and there is sufficient distance to avoid aircraft noise. The Lak Si district where the hotel is located is characterized by government buildings and military headquarters so it is not a place for shopping and tourists, but peaceful and suitable for transit accommodation. I stayed 3 nights and will use this place on a later occasion. Recommended for those who need a place to rest between destinations, or as a base to get into the center of Bangkok. There are trains and buses to the city center or to the places you want. And of course you can book a taxi or tuk tuk. Foodpanda, Grab, or similar delivery services can be used if you want food delivered to your door. There are cafes etc in the area, but I did not seek these out. Otherwise, it was a cozy area with flowers and wet pipes. Very lush. It might be an advantage to read a bit about the Lak Si district in advance. Very interesting. The manager at the reception spoke English very well, was pleasant and accommodated the wishes of the guests

It's in walking distance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Strange reception but friendly staff.

We needed paperwork done so this place was close by and economic, but the area is extremely boring. No bars, no restaurants, no fun whatsoever. Not suitable for holiday.
