Exceptional

The staff was really friendly and approachable. They have been very helpful whenever we have problems. On the day of our snowmobile northern light tour, there was a heavy snow which results in us not able to catch the northern light. However, Adrian still went all the way up to the mountain in order to provide us with the best experience. The dinner in tipi before the tour was really delicious and we had the chance to talk to other travellers from other countries during dinner time. Aside from that, the home-cooked dinner in the lodge itself was exceptional! I am really in love with the dessert. Lastly, the room is on a smaller side but it's really cosy.

The wifi in the room was quite weak. Understand that they lodge is located at the outskirt of Kiruna, thus it was really quite inconvenient to travel around unless you have a car. Taxi has to be prebooked sometimes to ensure that there are still cars available, especially during peak period.

Great cosy and confortable lodge in Lapland

We really enjoyed staying at the Mattarrahka Lodge. We got in late morning before the check-in time but our host managed to prepare our room so we didn't have to wait too long. The place is very cosy, confortable, nicely decorated and it makes us feel at home. Barbara cooked delicious meals and breakfast is also very good with a large choice of options. Mikka and his family are extremely nice and helpful. Thanks to Mikka, we booked dogsledding through Lapland Adventure and had the best time we could have hoped for. We highly recommend this place. My husband and I really a relaxing, peaceful and pleasant time and we would love to go back another time, possibly in summer! Thanks a lot Mikka!

Nice and pleasant stopover in Kiruna

Very nice lodge. We stayed for one night, and everything was fine. Quiet and clean room, excellent staff, and great breakfast. We recommend this hotel.

Superb

The lodge has a beautiful vibe to it. Its secluded from the city so you can easily see the northern nights when the sky is clear, and thats such a plus. they have 24*7 coffee tea facilities which is so cool! Even the room is so beautiful.

There was nothing that we didnt like.

Overall the accommodation is good, will recommend

The room with attached toilet is what I’m looking for, the plus point is room and toilet is very clean.

If the lodge provider can provide customers who check in late in the evening like bread or instant noodles will be appreciated.

Fantastic 🥰

Enough relax space in the lobby, the rooms are nice and cozy, the location is fantastic! And the snowmobile tour direct from the lodge is just awesome! Staff is friendly.

Recommend to rent a car at the Airport the prices of the local taxi company are insane! it is a little difficult to control the temperature in the rooms, you can not really shut down the heating fully. Sauna is nice but loosing to much heat so doesn’t go that hot and sweaty.

Superb

Cozy, comfy, a perfect retreat. Our room was warm and clean, and came with a lovely loft. The sauna was heavenly in the cold winter. Ski gears can be borrowed for free, and there was lots of snow right outside to ski on. Shout out to Mikko and co who runs the place so well!

Great hotel for trying to see the norther lights

We went to this hotel for the location outside of Kiruna, and the location is perfect for doing short hikes outside and getting away from most of the light polution. The beds were comfortable and the lounge area very cosy.

The check-in process was a bit on the rough side. Generally, most of the day there is no personel at the lodge. We didn't necessarily mind that, but arriving to closed doors at -12 degrees is not the most reassuring experience.

Exceptional

Nice location to watch the northern lights. The rooms were very cozy and the common areas provided an excellent space to either just relax or to chat with other travelers. All the staff was wonderful and quick to help and answer questions. We also recommend the activity packages from them.

Not convenient to go anywhere else.

Overall a very good stay, with minor flaws as mentioned in comments.

Cleanest I have ever stayed in. Food was delicious. Cozy. Convenient location.

Hardly any space for clothes. No cupboard with tiny space under stairs inadequate. Tiniest bathroom ever (but clean as a whistle). Common lounge means a lot depends on chemistry with other guests. Could be awkward, or social. Heating not working properly.

Perfect location for exploring the area will stay here again.

Loved the location, the friendly staff and the breakfast. Everything was so nicely organized and perfect in every way.

Nothing to not like, it was the greatest place.

Perfect week

Great location to watch auroras, outside the city of Kiruna. We were alone - exceptionnally because of travel restrictions, and enjoyed the lodge for us, with wine by the fire, and nice views. Service was kind and good. Great nordic ski trails around - you need a car, although no one at the tourist info had a map. TK4 is an app that has the main trails.

Wifi was slow, but workable for mails and surfing but not for streaming.

Great place, super friendly and attentive hosts.

Incredible place, love the decoration and the comfort. A lot of small details that made our stay super comfy and family-like. The city of Kiruna is not far away and yet you feel in the middle of nature. You can book a lot of different activites and the private hot tub outside is a must-do! We will be going back for sure.

Maybe the rooms are a bit small but they compensate having an upper deck to sit and watch tv. The water preassure in the shower was a bit low but nicely warm.

Exceptional

I had to stay here again when I returned to Kiruna. Loved the location as it was away from the town, very quiet and peaceful. You can sit at the lounge listening to lounge music, nibble on biscuits and a cup of tea or hot chocolate.

Pity the wifi wasn’t working on my 2nd stay.
