Paradise on Earth!

Opted for the 2 night cruise as part of our honeymoon trip through Vietnam and later onto Thailand and so glad we did! We heard from other guests that 1 night felt rushed but our experience was the opposite, plenty of breaks between activities/excursions. The entire experience from start to finish was executed like a well oiled machine and the staff did such an amazing job on our honeymoon suite! Tim, our tour manager, had plenty of jokes to go around and was brilliant in his attentiveness to our needs throughout the trip.

One very minor inconvenience we encountered (which is the only reason I didn't give 10 stars) was the inability to start the hot tub/jacuzzi on the deck during one of our breaks between activities.

A trip I’ll remember forever. Incredible scenery :)

Amazing experience. Highly recommend. The staff were fantastic and accomodating.

We did the one night, two day cruise… but the second day felt like we were just waiting to get off the boat. Lots of waiting around on the 2nd day. Including a 45min wait to get on the bus back to Hanoi.

5 Star / Gold Athena Cruise Ha Long

The staff where absolutely excellent - Tim & his team went above a beyond Gold 5 star standard. All of them where exceptional, friendly, full of smiles & joy. we enjoyed such specialised personal service that exceeded all our expectations. I Couldnt recommend Tim’s Team & Athena Cruises high enough - the whole experience for us was awesome - we plan on doing another Cruise with Athena & Tim ASAP

Superb

The staff were awesome from the moment we arrived in Ha Long Bay. Room was very comfortable with a lovely balcony. Activities were great, food delicious.

Bus ride to and from Hanoi was terrible. Far too fast with not feeling safe in the way there. On returning, he drove slower but was showing signs of falling asleep. Other people in the group had the same feeling. Didn't travel up the same day but had the same driver. Have informed cruise and they'll looking into it.

It was ok but a little too mainstream

1. Relatively new boat with decent room and bathroom (though when showering the water including soap was released into the open water) 2. Our tour guy was funny and very energetic 3. Food was nice 4. Happy Hour was fun 5. Sitting outside the deck on comfy couches and chairs and enjoying the scenery

1. The agenda was packed with one after another activity … too many for very short time span of 1 hour which made you feel rushed ( you could also skip though). 2. The activities were taking place at the same areas where all other similar companies took their guests to resulting in overwhelmingly overcrowded cave, beach and kayaking in the bay 3. None of the drinks with the food were not included. 4. It was not exactly a 2 day trip as we embarked at 12 pm at noon one day and disembarked the day after at 11 am 5. Felt a little too mainstream

Would highly recommend 2 night-3 day option- 2nd day even more amazing than first day

Everything about the cruise was amazing. The friendliness of the staff, well organized, beautiful cabin, and our tour manager Tim was the best!

food average most of the time cold. could improve significantly with better food quality. kitchen staff should wipe hallway floor as with water was very slippery had a fall

Beautiful scenery, nice cruise, great cruise manager but not sure it lived up to the total cost

They went above and beyond to help celebrate our anniversary with room decorations and a surprise cake.

We were put on the Athena Royale not Athena luxury without any prior notifications. I was told it was an upgrade but had not been what we expected. The destapa we traveled to we’re also very heavily touristed.

The staff were amazing, Tonic especially made sure to take care of us. Every one of our needs was seen to. An incredible time.

Romantic expereice!

There was nothing we didn't like about this cruise. Our car picked us up at the hotel and took us straight to the port to meet the boat. Once we arrived we were given a welcome drink and our luggage was taken to the boat and we followed. We got on board to another welcome drink and to meet the crew. The food was fantastic on board - there was always plenty to eat and there was always something to do and see. We had the terrace suite which was a lovely luxury to have during our travels around the country. We could have just as been comfortable in a normal balcony suite. The daily activities - kayaking, visiting the fishing villages, squid fishing, cooking lessons etc were all top class and very enjoyable. We didn't want to leave at the end of our two nights and we made a few good friends on the trip.
