This 5 star 1916 Historic super clean home. I am sure you will be impressed. Historic Home built in 1916 with 3 finished floors in Byrd Park with 3 ponds and 1 has a fountain and peddle boat rental and next to Maymont Park and Zoo, Carytown is just a couple of block with window shopping Restaurant's and Pubs, there are 10 or so Restaurants and Pubs within walking distant. There is Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Edgar Allan Poe Museum, Science Museum of Virginia and Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar, Virginia Holocaust Museum and Hollywood Cemetery 1/2 mile no car needed. ,

The rental house was comfortable.

The home was very quaint and unique. It was in a nice neighborhood. Parking was great. Checking in and out was very easy. Areas that’s could be improved would be updating couches and recliner.

Stayed at this lovely Victorian style house with comfortable spaces, a short walk to Carytown and Byrd Park and Maymont with my wife, sister, and her husband. We walked everywhere— to Scott’s Addition and the Diamond for a Flying Squirrels game, the VMFA, Maymont, etc. Great neighborhood, will come back!

The park across from the property was a godsend -- a great place for the kids in our group to burn off energy. The house was immaculate and just right in size, decor and amenities. Parking was easy.

We had a wonderful stay. Location was nice. Interior decoration was quite artistic. It’s old construction so the floors were a bit noisy but not a distraction for us during the day.

Parking was a breeze for a very urban area… never needed to use the giant parking area in back. This home is really close to Cary Street and all the amazement that goes on there… shops, restaurants and more. The washer and dryer were great and the fact that soap, shampoo and just about every other basic item you’d want is already there. Thanks Gary!

Had a lovely Easter weekend together. The house is ideally located to pretty much everything you will want to do. The Byrd park is beautiful and quite large. Many activities just a few min drive away. Several groceries' just a mile away. The house itself was well equipt. We made breakfast and dinner at home and explored local eateries for lunch. Master bed is very comfortable.

My wife and I enjoyed staying at the Byrd Park Property. We loved the location and the home and decor. We found it comfortable and well appointed. We celebrated Christmas there with the majority of our family and had a wonderful time.

For museums, walking and shopping, it couldn’t have been more convenient. The house was comfortable., Including sleeping,. It could use a little sprucing up because it’s dark inside, but it is an old house so it wasn’t a surprise. The owners were available and helpful at check in. Easy to rent and communicate with owner. Nicely equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds and linens. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Front porch set up for casual visiting weather permitting.

We were in town for a family wedding. We enjoyed our stay in this very historic house and neighborhood. We walked to Carytown and the lakes. There are many restaurants and shops. The house is very spacious with a lot of outdoor areas. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. My only recommendation would be to neutralize the decor in the TV room. It’s a very taste specific. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We loved this house. It was old, refurbished and in such a great location. Easy to get to restaurants, historic sites and downtown. Beds were comfortable, there was a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of seating and clean. The owner was very responsive when we had a question. Highly recommend this lovely home.

A comfortable home with easy access to both the park and the surrounding restaurants. We walked to Cary and Main Streets for breakfast and dinner and had loads of options to choose form within a mile or so.

Fantastic location, close to all amenities and sites, on the edge of beautiful parks, that are lovely to walk around on a summers eve. House was as described, spacious, comfortable, pet friendly, well stocked, plenty parking, gracious hosts….The only thing I would have liked to have known, was that there were people living in the basement with, at times, quite noisy dogs.

4 bed is a pull out sofa in the giant dining room, with 1/2 bath. (Full size gym in the attic)
Great outdoor spaces, large front porch for sitting and chillin, small patio off the kitchen that looks on to the back yard, sweet little balcony off the master bedroom.
Nothing negative to report. It was a perfect fit for our large family and friends.
Certainly worth checking it out.

The house was very nice, well stocked and in a great location. But, to our surprise, we learned that someone lived in the basement. The owners need to disclose this information.
