If you want to enjoy a relaxing vacation in a clean home then this is not the home for you. Before checking in, you receive a text stating that check-in could be delayed because of their “high standards of cleaning”. It was made clear that our standards of cleaning are vastly different. On day 1 we spent over 2 hours cleaning. The condition we received the home in was not a place that we would be comfortable laying our heads or even showering. The house was FILTHY with a weird smell and had dirt, dust, ants, and mold all over the house. When checking into a house with this price you expect to now have to spend hours, money, or energy cleaning. Almost every day of the vacation we had to dedicate time to clear out the ants, treat the mold, and/or clean a new part of the house that had been missed. We spent over $50 to buy bug treatment, cleaning supplies, and mold treatment. Cleanliness - It was very clear that the floors and bathrooms hadn’t had a deep and sanitary cleaning. Many of the bathrooms had hair and questionable marks. Mold - One of the bathrooms and hallway vents was covered in mold. It was clear that there was a mold problem in the house that has been ignored. Ants - There were ants EVERYWHERE. You couldn’t sit food down in the kitchen for more than 10 minutes without it being covered in ants. You couldn’t escape the ants, not even in the bedrooms or beds. Our suitcases and belongings were covered in ants and we didn’t even have food in any of the rooms.

Vacation at Slainte
Vacation at Slainte
The house comfortably fit everyone. It does show a lot of wear and tear- needs paining and some small repairs. Walk to beach was misleading. It was farther than we expected. View from top floor was amazing day time and sunset. And we saw deer! We all had a great time and enjoyed the pool and restaurants nearby.

We absolutely loved our stay at Slainte! The view every morning and evening from the top deck over the sound was amazing. It made us content to just sit there and do nothing. Pool area was great and the neighborhood was awesome to tide bike, scooter, or run. We were close to the dock to put our kayaks in as well. The closest beach was an 8 minute walk, however we choose to drive 15 minutes to pea Island everyday to have the amazing beach to our selves. We will definitely come back and stay again at this house.

Great friend/family vacation
Great friend/family vacation
Overall, we had a great week here. We liked the location, overall size of the house and enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well as star gazing off the balcony at night. The day we checked in, there were some ants in the kitchen, but we had read previous reviews and came prepared with kid friendly ant spray. Bringing groceries to the top floor was quite a work out, but we knew it would be. Additionally, it would have been nice to have a few kid/baby gates for the stairs, but we made do. Definitely would recommend!

We had a nice time at Slainte. When we arrived the house was very clean and updated. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook. The decor was beautiful. The pool was a good size and the hot tub was great. We had 6 adults and 9 kids. There was plenty of room for everyone, although I would suggest adding a couch or sectional to the game room so that the kids have their own place to relax and watch TV. The neighborhood that the house was in was nice for walking. However, we thought the home was closer to a beach access. We thought we’d be able to walk to the beach but rather we packed up the car each day and drove to a beach access about 5-10 minutes away which wasn’t ideal. The nearest Food Lion is 20 mins away in Avon and there are not many places to “eat out” so cooking was our best bet. Unfortunately, we had lots of rain and flooding for about 3 days of our stay but we made the best of it. If you aren’t looking for close beach access, I would recommend this house. The views of the sound side from the back top deck were beautiful. Beautiful sunsets. I’d recommend putting a large table and umbrella on the top deck where adults could sit on the deck and eat or play cards etc. Overall, the house was clean, updated, affordable and accommodating.

We had a great time in this house! It was very clean upon arrival and we loved that almost every room had its own bathroom. Our favorite part was enjoying the sunsets over the sound side from the back deck :) the pool was awesome too. We hope to come back and stay again in the future!
