About this house rental
Located in Carova Beach, this lovely house for $425 per night is a great choice for your next trip. PLEASE check my calendar for available weeks before requesting more info. NOTE: If you don't have a 4WD vehicle, contact Island Cruisers for a weekly rental of a full size SUV at a rate of just over $800. While driving up the pristine beach from the end of the paved road in Corolla, you will begin to feel the invigorating sea air and see pelicans, seagulls and the ubiquitous petite sandpipers on the run. Drive over the dune into Carova Beach, where all the roads are sand. When you turn into my driveway for 'Sea-Ya-Round', in Carova Beach you may be surprised to see wild horses there to greet you. Some of the mares may have their cute foals with them. The house which is located in Carova Beach is about eight and a half miles up the beach from the end of the paved highway, Route 12 in Corolla, and is accessible by four wheel drive only. When you first enter 'Sea-Ya-Round', you will immediately relax and feel the uniqueness of this round house nestled in the dunes. There are two bedrooms on the lower level with a large full bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. Large windows give wonderful views of the wild horses which meander around to the house almost everyday. On the main level you will find a king bedroom and another large bathroom with a top-of-the-line washer/dryer. Also on the main level is your fully-equipped kitchen with an island wet bar and a dining area. You can relax and watch high definition television in both the family room and master king bedroom. You will also find a selection of DVD movies and a collection of books. A stroll out the five foot wide runway to the elevated gazebo, with a new addition of 175 square feet of decking attached to the gazebo, will show you why you chose to have your vacation at 'Sea-Ya-Round' in Carova Beach. You will see spectacular views up and down the beach, feel the cool breezes and witness the wonders of the pelicans' flight as they glide by at your eye level. Suddenly, all the stresses of your life will disappear! Take a glass of wine and watch and savor the views for hours from the gazebo or the new decking. In the evening have your dinner in the gazebo, or on the deck and enjoy the spectacular blazing sunsets. You will want to spend the night in the gazebo! Awake to the wild mustangs having their morning fill of sea oats, so why not join them for breakfast in the gazebo? You can enjoy the glistening morning surf, and watch the ocean with its abundance of sea life frolicking in the morning lull. The views will be mesmerizing as you sip your morning coffee. Direct access to Carova Beach is reached by steps from the gazebo down to the beach. Your cares will vanish while strolling along the beach perhaps looking for unusual shells or other treasures from the sea. End your day relaxing in the round hot tub. Turn off all the lights so you may take in the beautiful night skies with shooting stars. All this and more is yours while you are staying in beautiful Carova Beach and 'Sea Ya Round'. There are many other things to do while staying in Carova Beach such as taking a hike in the False Cape State Park. This is located about 1.5 miles north of the house. The park kiosk has a flier that will show you where walking trails are located throughout the park. There is a pristine, undisturbed beach where only nature abounds. Surf fishing is always a fun thing to do, and who knows, you may catch fresh fish for your dinner. While you fish, you can watch the seagulls and pelicans fish for their dinner. A fishing permit is required. If you have the desire to go off the beach to the south, you will find many wonderful restaurants with all types of cuisine. Visit the shops in Corolla and Timbuck II shopping area, and don't forget to tour the restored Whale Head Club, the Currituck Lighthouse and finally the new (FREE) Wildlife Museum, which are all located together in Corolla. Driving further south will offer more to see - such as the Wright National Memorial Park where flight began in 1903, and the North Carolina Aquarium in Manteo. But, the best place to be is at 'Sea Ya Round' in Carova Beach!

Ive gone to the beach for many years and i think this was the most relaxing week i have spent at the beach to date.

Sea Ya Round is the perfect place to enjoy nature at its best! The location is second to none! We were there to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday, with my sister and brother in law. The set up of the house is perfect and has everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Just bring your groceries and relax!
We woke up on our first day to the magnificent wild horses (5 of them) right on the dune near the gazebo. We saw them everyday whether they were in the yard, on the beach or on the road when we walked around. We also saw dolphins right out in front of us, a sea turtle, an eagle enjoying a fresh fish and deer paid us a visit. The house is also a 2 mile walk to the Virginia line. We enjoyed that walk as well.
This was our first visit to the Outer Banks and it we are looking forward to visiting again! The Jacksons, CT

This property is amazing! The owners have everything inside the house organized and labeled so you know where to find everything. There is a gazebo with deck where we spent almost all of our time each day. We had more experiences there than anticipated, from seeing horses and deer to videotaping a horse chase/fight & deer chasing each other. There were pelicans and dolphins to watch daily. Sunrises were beautiful. If we ever stay in Corolla again, this is the only place I would want to rent and stay at!

We started it with my wife’s birthday and ended it on Father’s Day.
The gazebo On top of the dunes looking onto the beach was the highlight of the whole week. We had four generations with us throughout the week. Everyone had an amazing time from my 82 year old mother in law to our grandchildren (ages 8 & 10)
We saw so many horses on the property, around the property, on the beach, on the dunes & the back roads as well. The sunrises from the gazebo were amazing.
We saw dolphins, rabbits, pelicans & a eagle. We saw deer tracks but never saw any deer.
The water was a bit cold, but my son, his wife and his children loved every minute of it!

The house is so clean and stocked very well with everything you will need to cook with.
They even had spices that we used!
Our grandson slept in the pull out sofa bed. Our granddaughter shared the twin room with my mother in law.
My only tip is make sure to bring plenty of groceries and try to come in at low tide when you arrive so you will not have to run back out. We drove in at high tide and that was an experience!

Had fun despite the bad weather. House is pretty secluded and it was a little daunting getting to and from the house especially at high tide but we expected that going in. The house was fine for our small family, very different from all the monster houses all around it. The deck and board walk are showing some age and in need of repair, there were some nails sticking out that may be hazardous. The house needs some small repairs and paint too but nothing major, mostly just some updates and brightening up to make it more appealing for rental. All in all a nice relaxing stay!

We had an amazing stay at this beach bungalow.
Be prepared for the trek in up the beach (proper vehicle, tire pressure, tide tables) but at the end of the day....it was SO worth it!
The peace we found was exactly what we were looking for; daily walks on the beach, ocean breezes, magnificent horses roaming on and around the property; pelican flybys and even military jet fly overs. The house was very clean and well appointed in all aspects.
The owners Jack and Shirley were very communicative and checked in on us to make sure we negotiated the beach travel portion. They are truly delightful.
It's a definite on a return visit for us!

We have done many vacations and this has been by far the best. We would prefer this location over a resort any day. We did not go out to eat or do any activities other than the day it rained. We did do putt putt one day when we went into town to go to the grocery store. We loved discovering the island and collecting treasures. Driving in we saw dolphins, a huge shark being caught (it was released), and horses. While we were there we also saw a fox, rabbits, and many other little sea creatures. We are avid sea-shellers and we found the best shell beds a little down to the left from the house (if you are leaving the house and turn left). We loved corova and can't wait to come back. My 6 year old said she doesn't want to go back to her beach because she loves it there so much, we live in Wilmington. Highly recommend this place if you're looking to get away from it all. It is around 30 minutes driving on the beach to get to the house, but we loved the drive every time we had to make a trip to the store, which wasn't often. We just wanted to stay there and enjoy having nature and the beach. Our beaches are so crowded and developed. This place is heaven on earth.

SeaYa Round was so comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is awesome. We were greated by a beautiful horse family of 3 our 1st night there! What a wonderful welcoming committee! The gazebo is perfect for morning coffee to watch sunrise and waves. The hot tub was wonderful. I hope we can make it back sometime!

I wanted to stay away from crowds of people. This was the perfect location! A ways up the 4x4 beach but it was all worth it. We had the beach to ourselves so many times. We enjoyed dolphins along the shore with morning sunrises, pelicans and seagulls, deer and rabbits on the property, and the horses! Just wow. Not only did a black stallion come onto the property right outside our door, he walked along the boardwalk and to the beach. It was magical! And another morning we had them right on the beach at the gazebo. We seen them daily around Carova. We visited the fire station. I loved our walks along the sand roads behind the house. The house was well equipped and so clean. Id stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Jack for sharing this amazing property and home. Memories will be forever ♾️

Arriving from New York, we were not 100% familiar with the 4x4 lifestyle of Corova beach, but Jack and Shirley were extremely informative and helpful with any and all questions we had. (Pro Tip: be sure to check the tides upon arrival as outlined in Jack & Shirley’s welcome letter as you will spend a bit of time driving along the beach!) Also, be sure to stock up on all supplies needed for your stay as the closest store is about 45 minutes away.
We loved seeing the wild horses when we awoke in the morning and even saw some dolphins from the lookout of the gazebo. The sunsets were beautiful. The house is well stocked with kitchen supplies and the master bed was super cozy. We completed two different puzzles during our stay. Jack’s beautiful art around the house was an extra added bonus.
We are so thankful to Jack & Shirley for allowing us to enjoy their wonderful Oasis at Sea Ya Round.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful location. Inside the house was spotlessly clean and well kept, and the kitchen had every appliance and utensil you could ever need.
The gazebo was the perfect spot for watching the sunrise and sunset, eating all our meals, watching dolphins, star gazing, and best of all, watching the wild horses, which came right into the yard.
The house is well equipped with beach toys, an outdoor shower and hoses to rinse sand off, and deck chairs. You may want to consider bringing your own beach chairs.
We had a truly wonderful, relaxing time celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary at this cozy, beautiful location. I would love to have given it a 5 star review across the board, but there were several things that made me give it lower marks in some areas: The housekeeper was upset when we arrived early, and although the property owners were very nice and accommodating about it, starting our vacation with the housekeeper screaming at us was less than ideal; The hot tub was broken for the entirety of our stay. The owners contacted us about it and sent someone to repair it, but it was beyond repair, so it was disappointing not to be able to use it; and although the house and property were spotlessly clean, the outside deck could use some repairs as there were some loose boards and nail heads sticking up in some spots, but there were areas of the decking that have recently been repaired, so I believe they're in the process of fixing it.
Even with the few things I mentioned, we highly recommend this special location to anyone looking to relax and get their fill of the stunning beach and wild horses.

Perfect vacation
Beautiful stay. Loved the gazebo over looking the ocean. That is where I was all week. Perfect. Relaxing. Everything you would want for a relaxing vacation. Saw the wild horses near house. Amazing. Saw dolphins. House was perfect for the family. It had everything you needed. Can not say enough. Owners awesome.

We loved the isolation and we’re well prepared taking meal planning for the entire trip. However, driving on the beach and sand was stressful and it stopped us for taking any more trips than absolutely necessary. We ate out only one night which we planned for. The house and owner sure made up for sand driving by being exceptionally nice.

This house was beautiful, clean and convenient to the beach. The porch and deck around was great, but even better was the wooden walkway to the large deck and Gazebo looking out on the beach and ocean. Having breakfast lunch or dinner or even playing games with the grand-daughters and family was wonderful. Located on a non paved and all sand beach and road location was both a plus and negative. We loved the isolation and we’re well prepared taking meal planning for the entire trip. However, driving on the beach and sand was stressful and it stopped us for taking any more trips than absolutely necessary. We ate out only one night which we planned for. The house and owner sure made up for sand driving by being exceptionally nice.

Horses greeted us!
While unloading, we saw horses grazing in the neighbors yard off the side deck. House was very clean. Gazebo was beautiful and had a beautiful view of the ocean with beautiful sunrises. Saw horses on the beach and they actually came up the dune into out yard just off the gazebo. Really amazing! Great property.

This very comfortable house is perfectly situated for time on the beach, or looking out for wild horses. The owners have done an excellent job of setting the house up for easy living, and are thoughtful and easy to contact. We have been visiting the Outer Banks for many years now, and this is by far our favorite house 👍
