This property was nothing like the pictures on the website showed. I specifically told the property owner that the purpose of our visit was to have a relaxing weekend and do some fishing. We got to the property and the water level was so low, there were people in the middle of the lake and it was knee deep. I contacted the property manager and she tells me, "she forgot" to tell me the water level was so low. We ended up leaving the property 15 minutes after we arrived and stayed in a hotel for the weekend. Horrible experience!

I would like to preface this review with the fact that we have booked through VRBO numerous times over the years and have never encountered a major problem. In fact, this is the first time I've left a negative review. However, if this gives future travelers more insight, then I feel obligated to review this accurately. We arrived late in the evening. It was so hot in the house that we were all sweating. The thermostat was set to 73, but the temperature was a sweltering 85 degrees (probable hotter in the bedrooms). I'm assuming that the AC was cut on before our expected arrival at 3:00PM, but several hours later, it was still 85. When we contacted the owner, the response was to give it a few more hours and that he could bring over a fan after that time period. We stayed for an hour and a half and the air never got any cooler. We were needing to get some sleep for an early morning event, so staying was not an option. We had to call VRBO and file a claim. We left to find a hotel and never returned. After fees and taxes, we had paid over $1,000 for a vacation house that we could not stay in. If you are booking this property for a fishing trip, I highly recommend that you research the current lake level. We did not realize that the lake level was only 55%. As a result, the lake is 50 beyond the bulkhead and way beyond the dock. I would definitely not recommend children use the dock as it is in need of repair.

The house was even better than we pictured! Super cute house with a beautiful view of the lake. Loi was very nice and got back to me very quickly with any questions we had.

Just far enough out of town to enjoy the sounds of nature but, close enough to have a nice dinner on the square in Weatherford. Plus it was only 13 minutes from the Hollow Hill Event Center where we attended a wedding on Saturday. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck early morning and evening listening to the trees rustle and the birds sing. Inside, the beds were cozy, kitchen has all the essentials plus some. Really appreciated the music playing when we walked in. Owner responds very quickly to messages and the check-in/check-out process was seamless.

We so enjoyed our stay. This was our first time using VRBO and the bar was set so high we don't know if we'll enjoy any place as much as we did this one! The house was clean and decorated so perfectly. The deck, backyard and lake is amazing! We can't wait to go back!

We had a wonderful trip here. The property was very clean and spacious for our crew of four adults. It was so peaceful and fun to watch all the wildlife while sitting on the dock every morning. I’d recommend this place to my friends!

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at the Lake House to greet the New Year! It was very clean and had a nice big deck where you can enjoy the outdoors. It even had a table on the deck where you can enjoy your meals with a great view of the lake. We loved the dock. We were out there a lot just talking and watching the birds. It was so peaceful. Check in was a breeze and the place was very easy to find. TV was a bit of a challenge to figure out but we figured it out. Would definitely recommend this place for a nice getaway with family or friends. Love that it was just an hour drive from Dallas.

This adorable place was absolutely perfect for my mini momcation before the holidays. The porch, the pathways, and the dock were my favorite. The bed was SUPER comfortable. It was peaceful and relaxing. Just what I needed.

This lakeside property is a bit rustic, but that just adds to its charm. The two bathrooms and two bedrooms are perfect for a family of four. The view of the lake is absolutely beautiful and right out your back door.

Beautiful property on the lake. The house needs a little maintenance but everything worked fine. House listed as no pets but there were pet stains on carpet and hair around floors. We enjoyed the property very much.

Superb but extremely dirty

First off I want to say the location of this house is amazing and it’s perfect if your looking for a place to stay right on the water; the lake is beautiful! However, I’m very conflicted with how this house was overall. When you first walk up everything looks great until you saw how dirty the home was. We had 20-30 rat droppings on top of the hot water heater which is 2 feet away from the master bed. The ceiling, light fixtures and corners of the walls were covered in spiderwebs/cobwebs. The front door when you walked in didn’t even open all the way as you could barely fit a cooler through the door. It opens up to about a 40-50 degree angle till it wedges into the tile floor. Everything was extremely dirty. The windows and blinds were very dirty. When we tried to open the blinds, most of them were broken. When we arrived there was no dishwasher soap and when we asked for more, the owner told us we had to buy our own as she does not provide that for guests. The grill is listed as an amenity however she does not provide propane. Overall if the home was properly cleaned for a vacation rental this would be a 5 star review.

We stayed here for a girls trip for the weekend. The property was perfect! The driveway situation was a little rough because you have to unlock the gate and drive in straight off the street and there was a large slope and you could not see the oncoming traffic when coming out to see if cars were coming. Luckily we had enough people to help and the listing did warn about this. Overall we would come back in a heart beat, we had such a good time!

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10th anniversary at this VRBO destination. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The lake view was gorgeous and relaxing. There are lots of restaurants in Downtown Weatherford to enjoy. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for rest and relaxation, or for lake fun!

The home is the perfect gathering spot for families. Large outdoor decks with lots of shade. Easy access to water. Only negative … just needed a good spring cleaning. I realize it’s a lake house but clear the winters cobwebs and window sills.
