About this house rental
Situated in Michigan City, this charming house for $249 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Our newly built home is directly on Lake Shore Drive. The house was just completed in July 2019. It is less than a 0.1 mile walk from our front door to the beach. We have easy and quick access to Sheridan Beach, the nicest beach in the area! The house has an open layout - the kitchen opens up to the living/dining rooms. The house has 7 bedrooms, 4 baths, and a fully finished walk out basement. Outside, there is a huge front deck with a grill, and in the back there is a screen porch, connected to a deck with a built in hot tub. The backyard has a fire pit built in to the wooded sand dune. Bedroom layout is as follows (7 bedrooms): Bedroom 1 - 2nd Floor - Master Bedroom - 1 King Bed Bedroom 2 - 2nd Floor - 1 Queen Bed w/ roku TV Bedroom 3 - 2nd Floor - 2 Full Beds Bedroom 4 - 2nd Floor - 1 Queen Bed Bedroom 5 - 1st Floor - 1 King Bed w/ roku TV Bedroom 6 - Walk Out Basement - 1 Full Bed w/ roku TV Bedroom 7 - Walk Out Basement - 2 Bunk Beds plus a single twin - 4 Twins and 1 Full Bathroom Layout (4 Full Bathrooms): 2nd Floor Master Bath - Private master bathroom with Jacuzzi Tub and shower 2nd Floor Hallway Bath - Full bathroom with tub/shower combo. 1st Floor Bath - Full bathroom with shower Walk Out Basement Bath - Full bathroom with shower TV/Internet info: There is a TV with Xfinity Comcast Cable TV in the living room. There are ROKU smart TVs in 3 bedrooms and the basement. The house is equipped with high speed WIFI. Outdoor Space: There is a huge front deck with a grill, large outdoor dining table, lounger chairs and a grill. In the rear of the house, there is a screened in porch that is connected to a deck with a hot tub. The hot tub is open year round. Behind the screen porch and hot tub, there is a fire pit. The back yard behind the fire pit area is a wooded sand dune. Guest access Guests will be renting and will have access to the entire home.

This place was AMAZING. The house was pristine and accommodated our 10 adults and 7 kids very easily! . The house was spacious and open and had plenty of space on 3 levels with a great kitchen and atmosphere. We relaxed on the screen porch quite a bit and took advantage of the hot tub in the evenings. The location was perfect for us, a 1-2 minute walk to the beach. Colin was extremely quick to respond with any questions. This place is worth the money! I 100% recommend.

My children and grandchildren had a marvelous time here. The house is laid out beautifully. There were 20 of us and no one ever felt crowded, plenty of space to spread out and have your own space. Will definitely rent again.

This is NOT a “newly built” home. The description is false or hasn’t been changed in years. The home was filthy and in a terrible state of disrepair. Broken cabinets, broken furniture, ripped screen door, broken bathroom fixtures and light fixtures. Dirty blankets and sheets on the bed. Dirty curtains. Almost every wall was dirty. Literally found dead bugs smashed on the wall. Mold on the shower curtains and in the basement bathroom. Shower head hanging off the wall upstairs. Rusty curtain rods. Ant infestation in the kitchen. Moldy coffee grounds in the coffee pot. Mildew on patio furniture. Sand in the freezer! The list goes on and on and on. And I sent numerous messages to the host over several days and did not get a single response to any of them. It was a horrible experience. I could never suggest that anyone stay there until the house receives significant attention both by way of repairs and general cleanliness. The only upside was the proximity to the beach.

Our family of 16: 14 adults and 2 kiddos enjoyed our 4 night stay. Great access to the beach, host was quick and helpful in response. Place was clean, because it is a beach home you definitely deal with sand, not an issue just an FYI.

My friend and I have been taking our kids to michigan city and the dunes for the past 4 years. It’s a girl and kiddos trip. This year we rented a house instead of doing our normal hotel.
The house was amazing- so big - the kids loved it! Had everything you need but I would say bring extra laundry detergent, paper plates and plastic silverware and extra trash bags.
Location was perfect for us. Steep driveway but I have 4 kids and a large suv so it was not a issue for me.
We will definitely be back!

Home was GREAT. The location, layout and amenities checked the boxes!
I do agree with other reviews that most the beds are hard and hope they could be changed out at some point.
That said , we’d probably come back next year.

The property was clean and had everything needed for our large party. Good amount of bedrooms, multiple large seating areas, and plenty of bathrooms. Never felt cramped. Would have been 5 stars, but the oven wasn’t working. I notified the host about the issue and received a lackluster response. We were only there for 2 days, so we were able to make due without the oven. If booking, I’d make sure this problem has been rectified.

This home was absolutely perfect for our group of 12! The home was clean, cozy, and we each had our own bed. The kitchen and living room layout were open, and we were able to relax and hang out easily. It was well-equipped with towels, dishes, and everything we needed for our stay.

Lots of room and fun fire pit in back. However, downstairs 2 bedrooms only had a deep window well for light and they were covered in dirt. Downstairs bathroom had mold. Master were either very hard very soft. There was jockeying to see who would get the better beds.
Owners were not accommodating.10 days after we booked we found we had a free place to stay. We were renting on weekdays. I offered to switch to the off season week days again for same price. Their calendar shows they have no weekdays in the offseason rented except for Xmas week. I had a rental for 20 years on same street and it is hard to rent week days. They would not change the dates. It would have represented very little risk to them and a big help to us!

I want to start by saying Colin is amazing! He messaged me with all the rules in the beginning of the week before my stay. When we got there, the poor cleaning ladies were still cleaning up the house from the people before us. We didn’t mind at all. We finally got into the house 30 mins late and it was spotless. The house is huge and plenty of room for everyone in party to stay. My husband and I rented the place for my bridal party and us. The basement has two bedrooms and a bath with a huge living area. One private bed and one with the bunk beds. When you go to the main level you have one private room and bath with the kitchen and huge dining and living room. The walk out balcony overlooks the street and you are walking distance to the beach. The upstairs has four bedrooms (one master suit, two private bedrooms and one with two large beds) and a bathroom. This place is huge and very roomy! I would stay here over and over. The hot tube was amazing and helped me recover from my night of dancing lol. We had a fire in the fire pit every night. The neighbors were quite.
I will say the drive way is very steep so if you have elderly people staying this might not be the place you want. Colin was amazing with recommendations on where to park since we had so many cars with us. He always answered my text immediately or in a very timely manner. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Great property for large group
This was a great property for a large group. Plenty of areas to gather together or find a place to sit by yourself for a while. Very close and easily accessible to the beach. Great kitchen to cook in and quick and helpful responses from the owner when needed. We will definitely be looking to stay again the next time we are in the area!

Pros: Great place for a large group. The online listing and photos tell an accurate description. Would definitely stay again.
Cons: Be aware, it is a steep driveway and parking can be difficult. Something MUST be done about the "mattress"in the master bedroom! It's not useable. Actually, it's a boxspring. It looks like someone absconded with the mattress! Seriously! Trash pickup is on Monday and we came on Wednesday with full trash cans.already. We bought heavy duty trash bags and set them out by the cans. I hope they picked them up!

This property is in a great location. There is just a short walk to the beach. There are beach chairs available to take to the beach. The house was a nice size for our stay. However, if you plan to do any cooking, please know that the kitchen is not fully equipped with basic pots, pans, and cooking utensils. We couldn't get the grill to work, even after we purchased a refill for the propane tank. The grill was pretty dirty anyway.

Our team spent 2 days here to do some teambuilding. Perfect place to walk to the beach, spacious enough for us to do our teambuilding activities inside when it rained, great fire pit out back at night for smores and conversation. The kitchen was great and there were even decent knives! There could be some sturdier kitchen utensils, but we came prepared with our own because this is not our first trip! Beds were pretty comfortable, the master upstairs is QUITE firm! Plenty of bathroom space with lots of towels and decent water pressure. The driveway is quite a bit steeper than the pictures would lend one to believe but we made it work and got in a bonus for our legs! Prior to our arrival the host was ultra communicative and responsive. There was an issue with the state of the hot tub upon our arrival and it would have been ideal for him to have continued that awesome response time after we arrived so we could have used the hot tub during our stay. That being said, we would highly recommend this house!!

Great Beach Stay
We a different house from this owner a few years ago and both times we had a great experience. The house was clean and well kept and there was room enough for our three generations of family.
