Unfortunately, based on our experience, we do not plan to return.

The resort is situated in a beautiful location, though it can be intimidating after dark due to the absence of street lights and nearby resorts. On the positive side, the beach is pristine with minimal crowds, offering a sense of privacy.

Food: The dining situation at the resort leaves much to be desired. They exclusively offer breakfast, and even that is limited to a predetermined menu verbally communicated by the staff. Requests for items beyond the given options are promptly rejected. Notably, they lack a fruit bowl, a common breakfast offering. There is no buffet option, and the only juice available is watermelon, which is overwhelmingly diluted—approximately 90% water. To illustrate this, I've attached a photo of the juice we took to our room and froze, revealing a complete absence of melon. If you're contemplating lunch or dinner, the resort provides no options, suggesting ordering from external services like Swiggy. Consequently, we found ourselves traveling approximately 5 kilometers to the other part of Varkala whenever we desired a meal. Services: Basic service etiquette is conspicuously absent. The staff lacks familiarity with fundamental service norms. During one breakfast, despite repeated requests, we never received a water bottle that we had asked for at the beginning. The staff seemed indifferent to our requests, which happened multiple times. Facilities: The swimming pool is disappointingly dirty, lacking proper cleanliness maintenance. The bathrooms are subpar, with seat covers falling off. Additionally, the so-called deluxe rooms lack a basic amenity—a television. Despite these shortcomings, the resort is commendable for its overall cleanliness.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE FROM A HIGHLY GOOD EXPECTED TRIP. FOR RETIRED PERSON LIKE ME IT WAS VERY BAD.

Varkala beach is good.

As per Booking .Com, there is only one optional room ie Cottages charging Rs3000/- + taxes and I had booked it from 19/10/2023 to 24/10/2023 ie for 5 days.On reaching the hotel we were offered a shabby small AC room saying that we are entitled to this room.For the Cottages that are reflected in Booking .Com we were asked to pay Rs1500/-day + taxes and that too was not available. We were compelled to stay in the shabby room for 5 days. The amenities presented in Booking .Com for this hotel is completely false as there is No food available except the complimentary dirty breakfast, which we never took.We had to move out during every meals or tea to some distant restaurants. The restaurants are in the Town and we had to pay Rs200/- for one side journey to have some food. I would never suggest anybody to stay in this hotel as everything is false and deceiving in SAMSARA HARMONY BEACH RESORT.This hotel needs to give a clear picture of amenities and rooms so that in future nobody is cheated.The best place to stay is at the Cliff where you will get all facilities ,good food and very nice view of the sea. We had to spend Rs400/- for up and down trip each time we went for some food to eat.

Not value for money

Location was good. Staff had to manage and provide breakfast in the rain. Better provision must be made for guests during inclement weather.

It rained during our entire stay and having breakfast outside in the wet was very uncomfortable. First night a cockroach fell on me whilst I slept - eventually killed it and a few more. Next evening I killed hundreds of easels (flies) in the bathroom. Not really value for money spent

Very good

Samsara is an really nicely located resort which gives a clear access to the beach - not even 5 minutes of walk and you are hobnobbing with the beautiful waves at the black sand beach! Walk along the shore for 15 minutes and you hit the Varkala Cliff... Along the shore are popular restaurants where hunger pangs can be addressed. The resort gives a good vibe and has decent crowd. The people looking after you at Samsara are good. Irshaad was my go to person for any little help and he was kind enough to answer all request with a large smile ( and i am referring to special requests by my daughter for her breakfast!) Pradeep, managing the property has a warm and welcoming personality who makes one feel at home right away.

Rather i would say, what could be improved. 1. The water in the pool needed real deep cleaning and monitoring. 2. The breakfast place could be cleaner. Perhaps something to keep the houseflies away would make it a great place to just sit and oggle at the ocean.

Exceptional

The location of the resort is just excellent, tucked away from the artificial humdrum of the centre and cliff of Verkala (only 25 mins walk along the beach though). You have a whole beach to yourself as very few tourists are around, in addition to that you can observe the daily chores of fishermen everyday morning. It just felt like paradise.

The resort has not gotten its way back to its pre-COVID self, e.g. the restaurant or the card machine not yet fully working. But the cordial staff sorted everything out. Looking forward to visiting Samsara again soon.

Great place to stay in Varkala

-Great breakfast by the sea -Excellent well kept pool -Friendly and helpful staff -Good sized rooms with terrace/balcony -Great view of sea from property -Beds firm for European visitors but comfortable rooms -Quiet location away from hustle and bustle but pleasant 15 min walk to the cliff

A great stay!

-Excellent well maintained pool -Lovely view to the sea from pool area / many bedrooms -Most bedrooms have a nice balcony/terrace area with chairs -Great breakfast served opposite the beach -Yoga area -Saw dolphins out to see from the hotel -Helpful manager and friendly kitchen staff serving breakfast -Spacious bedrooms with good facilities (though for Europeans the beds are very firm) -pleasant 15/20 min walk to Varkala cliff so nice and quiet being away from the main hustle and bustle, but as we had a tired 8 year old we paid for rickshaws to take us home (also 15 mins, Rs 200). -Umbrellas and a few sun beds on main beach -Waves very strong, be careful! -Hotel organised a (quite expensive) trip out on a fishing boat, we didn’t see dolphins but was great to see the local fisherman fishing in the traditional way (although a hard way of life now). -Fisherman also fishing on nearby beach which was charming to watch -

Nice locality. Comfortable. But needs some better management to get it back to shipshape.

I was expecting something a bit more upmarket, but the room was fairly spacious and comfortable. Access to the beach was brilliant. Staff were helpful and friendly, in a fairly rough way. They got us a scooty to hire - but I am sure the hire was too much and they were skimming, if not they gave the impression that that was what was happening. The decor was a bit overblown and obvious.

The place needs a bit of extra care, bits are broken (like a light shade) and not fixed. The bathroom water mains were turned off when we arrived and we had to ask for help there. The toilet did not flush. So I was surprised at this as the price was way more then I had spent at a hotel before so I had a much greater expectation of care. We had to ask for a kettle.

The room and bathroom were large. The view and veranda/sit out were great to just relax and enjoy the see breeze. The beach front dining and wholesome and homely food was good. Bedding / dohar was perfect thickness of sheets for Indian conditions, and the pillows were just perfect. Generous use of solid wood in the roof furnishings.

The bathroom while nice and large could have better pest control. The AC was cold, but didn't adjust well to warmer settings 22-25C which are adequate near a beach.

The location was superb,smooth checkin and check out.Had a sumptuous breakfast and other meals were ease to request, if u wanna eat out the staff guide the best places were could eat.kids friendly swimming pool.

Disappointing

Currently the restaurant was closed, however they arranged good breakfast. The service was really good.

The property was not well maintained, despite the location was scenic. The covers had stains and floors were very sticky.

A small paradise

Samsaraharmony Beach Ressort is a magical place close to the Arabian Sea! All the staff is always very warm and attentive to the residents! Amazing location and well-mannered staff.

The location of the resort is just mind blowing and staff over there were really nice and made all our requirements meet at time without fail. We were group of 3 girls and trust me I would recommend this resort to all my friends as they provide a safe and comfortable environment.

I was said that the resort will provide us a free rental bike but they didn't meet the offer as they said that the scheme was old and they don't offer it anymore. Something similar happened with the breakfast scheme too. So i would recommend that they update their info and offer timely and clarify all details beforehand so that we as a customer doesn't have to be disappointed. But all together it was a nice experience.
