We were impressed by this amazing home with its ocean view. Our annual sisters weekend was enhanced by the comfort of the beds, the convenient kitchen and the hot tub on the deck. we felt surrounded by nature. All of us would highly recommend the house.

Lots of space to sleep our 7 members. The house has seen better days and is a bit run down but tidy and functional. Kitchen was well stocked. Tried a couple dvds but they didnt play... good thing they also have netflix.

Really enjoyed this property. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, great flexibility with different bed sizes- singles queens and king - comfortable beds. Kitchen was well stocked. Great view!! Lots of space for badminton and ball games. The dock was a real bonus!!
Hot tub needs a bit of a cleaning.

Comfortable accommodation but it needs updates and repair.
Basement is musty.
Railing on deck unsafe and needs repair.
Needs non stick frying pans and better knives.
Tile or linoleum in master bedroom bathroom would be an improvement.
Deck chairs are rusted.
Railing around hot tub needs repair. One pump on hot tub not working. Lights on hot tub do not work.

Home is very spacious. Comfy beds. Missing many essentials unfortunately (salt, sugar, tin foil) clean - but not as clean as all other homes we have rented in the past. Home is showing its age. Did enjoy the wildlife we saw right on the property (rabbits, owl).

This was more than we expected and loved every moment. The view is something we miss every day and the quiet surroundings was amazing. The space was very clean and more than enough room for all of us. We had everything we needed and would highly recommend to anyone looking to rent in Anderson Cove. Lots of great memories for our family.

The property was just fine. We liked the deck. Entrance instructions should have come sooner, as wsell as the code needed to unlock the key to the door.

This house is in a great location and has an amazing view. The downside was the house is aged and maintenance needs to be done, windows that didn’t open bbq’s were filthy and propane on the deck one was out so we had to search for another tank. Deck chairs were full of cobwebs and we had to also search for cushions for the chairs. The weather was beautiful and we had a party of 10 women.. the least you could do is clean the hot tub and have the deck de-cobwebbed. Overall the stay was nice just disappointing they weren’t ready for us. The little things when you pay good money. The fridge also started off real slow, wasn’t even keeping our coffee cream cold. We emailed and texted and never did get a response. Loved the view the house was just meh.

Shoot a few hoops, bbq and soak in the tub, quick canoe off the dock, and we’re all satisfied. Hope to return. Love it.

Our stay in the oceanfront home was perfect, enough space for us all, we were 8 ladies, (supposed to be 9), we had space to eat together, play games together and go for a hike in East Sooke Park. It was absolutely perfect. The house is well stocked with whatever you could need and ample space to relax and hang out to be together. Thank you!

Theres so much room for everyone comfortably! We love being able to all sit at the table together to enjoy meals and head to the wharf to watch the otters play!

Great property, perfect for a family getaway. Located in a quieter area of Sooke (East sooke) but plenty of space to relax, including a private hot tub and dock. Fabulous views and if your lucky, a resident bear! Approx 20 minutes from Sooke, so stock up on the way. Definitely check out the beach at Aylard Farm, absolutely stunning.

Island Getaway
You can’t beat the view and access to the water! Location is a bit removed from attractions in the area but the large property is very private and forested. Be aware and respectful of the forest residents - a black bear walked right up to us while we were in the hot tub at night! We had 9 family members staying here and the house provided more than enough space for everyone. House could use some repairs and updates but everything is functional and well stocked.

I stayed here with a group of girlfriends and we had the best time! The pictures don't do the house justice, it's super clean and warm and inviting. The property is huge, lots of room for us to play lawn games, and the dock was amazing to enjoy the water. Lots of extra blankets, towels for hot tub, a great deck, and nice and clean. Would definitely stay here again!!

Great view and the house was exactly as advertised. Very clean and well stocked. Our sibling get together at this house was perfect since it had 5 bedrooms and a large dining room table for us to eat and talk at.

Great view and the house was exactly as advertised. Very clean and well stocked. Our sibling get together at this house was perfect since it had 5 bedrooms and a large dining room table for us to eat and talk at.

We loved staying here. It suited our family very well.
It was clean enough, it’s hard with older houses to get things looking spotless. But it was good. The home has seen better days and could use some maintenance. But overall it was a great, comfortable place to be.
Might be helpful to note the bedrooms upstairs are master with a queen bed, 2 twin bed bedroom, 1 queen bed bedroom. Main floor had the bedroom with a single bed. And the king size bedroom was in the basement.
We loved the view and the private yard. It was wild and beautiful. We loved going down to the dock and enjoying the view from there as well. Bit of a hill climb though! The deck is great too. As well the out door fire pit on the grassy area was a nice addition.
The hot tub has a great view. But it was not up to our standard of cleanliness. It could just have been that no one had used it for awhile and since it is the guests responsibility to add the chemicals etc perhaps no one was there to do that recently.
The kitchen was huge and well stocked with pantry items. And the massive dinning table was perfect for family dinners.
Overall, everyone had a fabulous time and we would consider booking this property again.

our family recently spent 8 nights at this wonderful house while visiting Sooke for our daughters wedding. The house was very spacious and stocked with so many extras. Great views and spacious house
We really enjoyed staying here. There were 10 of us and we were very comfortable.
The house is huge! It might be helpful to know the single bedroom is the only one located on the main floor. Then 2 queen bedrooms and the room with 2 twin beds are all upstairs. The king bedroom is in the basement.
The house could definitely use some updating and maintenance, it’s seen better days. But it was clean and comfortable.
The yard is amazing, on a hill so not much level space, but wild and beautiful
The dock was a great spot to hang out, definitely a bonus. And the fire pit was also a nice bonus.
The hot tub has a great view. But it was not up to our standards of cleanliness. It could be that no one had stayed in awhile? As it’s up to the guests to add chemicals etc.
But we would definitely return, we really enjoyed this property.

Beautiful
We had a group of 6 friends. This space was spectacular, the house was well staked and the views were amazing. I would highly recommend this place for families or friends gathering. The only issue was the 2 twin beds were very uncomfortable for an adult. But we switched things up and it was okay.

The house is outside the main city area of Sooke, so prepare for a 20+ minute drive to get to groceries and the like. The owners also provide ample info on where nearby things are located that could be of interest.

It's a lovely house, but there are some safety/security concerns that need to be dealt with.
To start off, the house is lovely and comfortable, the amenities were great and the view was amazing.
Despite a huge kitchen, with lots of well stocked cupboards of dishes - there is ZERO pantry space for your food. All of our dried goods sat out on the counter. Just strange!
Beds and pillows are comfortable.
The master bathroom is carpeted - gross! There are yellow pee stains around the toilet, yuck! Just replace the bathroom flooring, that is so unsanitary!!
There were a few things of concern that need to be addressed for safety and security reasons.
1. When we arrived, there was garbage leftover from the previous guests in the trash cans in the garage. A note on the fridge said that garbage would be picked up on Wednesday (we arrived on a Monday), which leaves me to believe that this garbage had been sitting for up to 5 days (and there were still 2 days more until it was picked up) It stank to high heaven of rotting meat!! When the garbage was picked up on Wed, the whole garage still stank - I think the cans need to be sanitized/bleached, and a new garbage pick up system figured out. People should not be dealing with prior guests garbage!
2. There is no ladder on the dock. I have read reviews from a year ago about a broken, and then missing ladder. It's been a year, this needs to be replaced ASAP. We were excited to book a waterfront location, to swim in the ocean and we were not able to because there is no safe and easy way to climb onto the dock from the water. This was a real disappointment.
3. I took a baking sheet out from the oven draw and there was mice droppings on it, and in the oven drawer. I didn't see anything anywhere else in the kitchen....but someone needs to come out and pull the oven out and inspect to see if rodents are getting in. Gross, and unsanitary.
4. There was a black-out one of the nights. ( 10pm - 4am) I remembered seeing a drawer full of lanterns and candles....but only 2 of the 8 lanterns had working batteries!! We scrambled in the dark, with our phone lights to switch out batteries and make more of them work. Eventually took batteries from the tv remotes! This is obviously an oversight, but batteries should be updated. Also, we found out from the BC Hydro website that it was a 6 hour long "planned blackout". Some warning ahead of time would have been nice, as I'm sure the community was made aware of it.

Excellent family holiday get away
Our family of ten - 4 grand kids and 3 couples, found the home to be well equipped with everything we needed (and more) in the kitchen. The bathrooms were also well stocked with lots of great shampoos, body wash and soaps. The hot tubs was enjoyed by all and is a great amenity. The walk up and down the hill to the ocean front dock is bit steep, but provided good exercise for everyone. The views are magnificent with lots of seating on the outside deck. We also enjoyed using the firepit and grassy areas for games as well as basketball for the kids on the large parking apron in front of the garage. The house is well hidden by tall stately trees with wonderful landscaping and fairly well tended. (We would have liked to have had the lawn areas cut as we couldn't play Bocce because the grass was just to long), but that's not a real complaint as it was also quite natural.
Julie left us a nice welcoming note and a very clean, well looked after house for our holiday. We would love to return, and likely will get back to Anderson Cove House again for our third visit.
