NRC residence is a good place to stay when your plane arrives in the late evening or early morning and you are not ready to undertake the next leg of your journey. It's close enough to BKK so cabfare is reasonable, but far away enough that there's no jet engine noise. It's set far back from the main road and backed by a khlong, so it's very quiet.
Facilities are vintage but functional. Good mattress, good hot water, good wifi, good aircon. I slept well.
Shower and shampoo gel dispensers were empty.
In common with other hotels of this era, there aren't enough plugs.

Location is very good not far from airport. It was also very quiet. Quite clean. Seemed secure.
Room was a little basic, no tea and coffee or kettle offered. Fridge stopped working when we left the room. No quality toilet paper. No swimming pool. No safe in room.
