The hotel was clean and tidy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I tried my basic French and they humoured me (which I always appreciate) but asked if it'd be easier in English when I stumbled. The staff was helpful about storing our luggage for several hours past checkout while we explored the city. The location is amazing if you need to travel onward by train - the main train station is a short walk away.
The only issue I had was the room size, which I suppose was not unusually small by French hotel standards, but fairly cramped by mine. The hotel did feel a bit tired appearance-wise, but everything was clean and worked so this is a minor issue especially given the price point.

The location was great, close to the train station and the downtown area. All of the staff were lovely. I booked the extra big room and was not disappointed. It was very large, the bathroom was huge with two sinks and a bath, everything was clean. Not luxurious, but for the price, it was fabulous. Elevator large enough for road bikes, bike friendly hotel!!! Would happily stay here again!
The breakfast was ok, but very basic and probably not worth it. The building probably needs some maintenance, the stairwell was a bit creepy, but these all add to the charm of a place with character.
