I had stayed for a week in Sangto green guest house.Location was perfect.Calm and quiet with great views from balcony and not too far from the Leh market/ airport.Room and balcony was spacious.Special thanks and appreciation to Mr Rahul,hotel staff .We had missed a valuable item in the room and realised only after we had reached the airport.I called Rahul who immediately checked the room, found the item,came from hotel to airport and handed it over to us. Thanks a lot!!

The rooms are wonderful and clean, the garden is seems like taken from Eden and the hosts is amazing, so nice and warm <3

Sangto Green was our "homebase" while we trekked in Ladakh. The staff were wonderful and went above and beyond for us - especially the lovely owner, Sumita. Their home cooked meals were delicious, the rooms were exceptionally tidy and comfortable, and the location is ideal (just a short walk to the village main market, but far enough so that you can escape the hustle and bustle!)

Sumita is an outstanding owner and host. She makes the stay incredible. She has an organic garden just outside the door and uses that for her cooking. I reserved a quiet larger room and I got one on the second floor with an outdoor patio veranda with 3 chairs and 2 small tables that looks out to the white-capped mountains and the garden below. You might have to pay more for this spacious room (I don't recall now), but it would be worth it.
The bathroom is a western-style toilet and a nice hot shower. Sumita makes different breakfasts, and all have been tasty. You can also request to have lunch or dinner at the guesthouse and generally that is available, homemade and from the garden. It's always been good and at a reasonable cost. Sumita has shown me many kindnesses and reaches out to me on WhatsApp to see if I need anything. I've very much enjoyed my stay here.
I also like the location. I choose it because it looked to be out of the crazy busy tourist energy of downtown and the Ley Market area, and I was right. It is generally very quiet here under the hillside of the Shanti Stupa nearby. It's a 20-minute walk to the Leh Market along small and safe streets, or I made a taxi friend and just give him a call to take me places. It's easy for location in my opinion, the view is wonderful, it's quiet, it is nurturing and a homey homestay.
There isn't much not to like. If you want the grand Western-style appointments and finishes, go to one of the big Ley Palace Hotels and pay 4 times the price. But if you want a clean, quiet homestay with good food and caring proprietor, the price is easy on the pocketbook for the quality you get here.
