Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a large quality bed so we both slept very well. The room faced the road but the traffic did not disturb us in any way. Breakfast was lovely and we appreciated the tips given on where to go to visit and eat. The house is a large former vicarage with huge grounds, both very nice.
The water pressure was a little low in the bathroom and we felt that a privacy blind of some sort might be a useful addition to the bathroom.

beautiful old house, well maintained, comfortable, lovely rooms couldn’t fault it. the hosts were extremely welcoming, Rowena went out of her way to help us with places to eat in the evening, did the reservations for us. booked a cab to take and bring us back from a wedding, she was very helpful and informative nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful setting but close enough to amenities. The owner was very helpful recommended places to visit and made us feel welcome.

Wartling place is an extremely comfortable large home stacked in history due to its age, but in pristine condition. Rewina, the lady of the house could not have been more helpful to my wife and I. She is a fountain of knowledge with regards to the local area and attractions therein. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well equipped. The standards breakfasts of breakfast far outweighed of those expected and offered an extensive choice of cooked breakfast or other alternatives, also catering for vegans etc. Nothing was too much of a problem far ordering a taxi to booking a restaurant table. A thoroughly excellent and peaceful break.
To be perfectly honest there was nothing that either did not like. An amazing coutry house B&B. Will be revisiting for sure.

Our sat nav couldn't find the location so Rowena came out to greet us. The location was v convenient for us as we were house hunting in Eastbourne and Bexill. We really enjoyed the breakfast, it was well cooked and all produce was fresh, well sourced and thought about. We also liked sitting at the communal table and enjoyed talking to the other guests.
I could see the pool beckoning but because of Covid and restrictions we were unable to use it which was a pity as I'd have loved to swim in it.

The setting was delightful: a large garden with mature trees. The welcome was warm and friendly, providing extra help where needed. The breakfasts were excellent, including a wide choice and serving some home grown produce. Our room was spacious and elegantly furtnished. The location was very close to the beautiful gardens of Hurstmonceux Castle, with some excellent pub restaurants a short drive away.
The toilet in our room was difficult to flush.

There was a wide choice of items for breakfast. The quality was excellent, everything was freshly cooked. The breakfast room was a lovely place to start the day as well.
Our room was excellent, very spacious and tastefully furnished. No sound from any adjacent rooms. Lovely view over the gardens. The gardens themselves were nicely laid out and well worth strolling around.
Plenty of parking space. And of course Rowena was an excellent hostess, able to provide useful information about the surrounding areas.

Beautiful house and garden, very nice room and bathroom, excellent breakfast, very nice, welcoming and extremely helpful hostess beyond our expectation. Very quiet and dark nights that helped us sleep very well. A variety of bottles of wine and beer were for sale, and a fridge as well as fresh milk for teas and coffees in our room were available.

This is an amazing, quiet and well appointed country house. Rowena runs a lovely place and everything is just as you would expect it to be, from comfort of the room, to welcome, to quality of the homegrown tomatoes at breakfast. Don't pass up a chance to stay here.

Warm welcome. Excellent location for Eastbourne, Hastings, Battle, Bexhill and South Downs. The host, Rowena, went extra mile to help us, make our stay comfortable and a success. Spotlessly clean, COVID compliant. Beautifully furnished. Unique house and immaculate lawns with views towards Herstmonceux. Very good choice for breakfast, good quality ingredients and perfectly cooked. Self contained annexe available. Plenty of secure parking.
Not a criticism . Observation for disabled that this is a traditional ‘home’ so rooms in house accessible via stairs plus couple of steps to dining area. No downstairs cloakroom.

The house is situated within well maintained grounds and the room was spacious and very comfy. Rowena was great throughout our stay and the breakfast was fantastic.

Helpful hostess with good local knowledge and very welcoming. Meeting other guests at breakfast was lovely and they were all very sociable.and delicious breakfast!

We had such a warm welcome from Rowena even tho we were very late. The bedroom and bathroom were sumptuous and the menu for breakfast vast. Social distancing was in place, and hand sanitiser was at various points inside and at entrance.
Rowena was so informative on local as well as places further afield. The gardens surrounding the property added to the ambience.
