A beautiful authentic historic property with delicious Japanese breakfasts and warm staff. The location close to restaurants, a supermarket and station is very convenient.
Some will want a more modern place but this is a historic ryokan hundreds of years old that has been in the same family for 13 generations. It is not an experience to be missed but it is not a modern hotel.

Staying at Seikiro Ryokan was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Japan. The traditional Japanese atmosphere was beautiful, peaceful, and full of character. What made my stay truly special was the kindness and hospitality of the people there. I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for as a solo traveler.
My room was lovely, and the traditional Japanese breakfast was a wonderful experience. I especially appreciated the warm, personal touches that made this stay feel so different from an ordinary hotel. I only wish I could have stayed longer!
There was nothing I disliked about my stay. My only regret is that I booked just one night! I would have loved to spend more time enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of this beautiful ryokan.

Authentic Ryokan … everything seems untouched for decades
Onsen we had to our own.
Dinner and breakfast were very good and really made us taste the experience perfectly
Location is very nice and quiet, 2 min. to rental bikes and at night it’s a 30 minute walk to Amanoshidate.
We were given the best room with private bathroom and a balcony with view of the garden.
The owners do everything to help and assist: shuttle to / from station, show you around and make sure we have everything you need.
The age shows and simple changes like the light in the dining/breakfast room, tiles in the onsen and some touching up of defects on the walls would return it to the level this ryokan deserves

We really enjoyed the breakfast, especially the thoughtful explanation of how to enjoy each dish. It made the experience feel special and authentic. Overall, it was a truly wonderful experience.
The room was a little below our expectations. Considering the price and the facilities provided, we were somewhat disappointed with the overall value. We had hoped for a more comfortable and pleasant room for the price.
