WoodHaven could also be called "Hidden Gem," exquisitely private, well-appointed retreat tucked in the mountainside of Old Timberline. WoodHaven is perfect for family vacationers or friends looking for a cozy mountain getaway. Featuring a glorious open great room brightened by windows on three sides, accented by the stunning wood floors, equipped with a kitchen island/bar, and warmed by a charming interior stone wood-burning fireplace. The dining area comfortably seats up to 10 at the Amish-style table. As a bonus, the living room has an indoor shuffleboard table that will entertain for hours. For our warm weather guests, WoodHaven is one of the few in the area equipped with central air conditioning. The fully-paved circular driveway can easily accommodate at least four vehicles and provides the convenience of no steps to negotiate between you and the main living/eating areas when unloading luggage or groceries. Perfect for holidays, this is truly an all season home. The cozy front porch is a great location to enjoy sunny days. Move to the rear deck for starry nights with spectacular views of the Milky Way from the large, private back deck with a hot tub, comfy furniture, and a fabulous new gas firepit to gather with your family. Don't forget your pooch as this home is pet friendly. $70 per pet plus tax fee applies. This home has Central A/C and does allow pets. Some vacation sites offer incorrect information however property managenent website, Canaan Realty has the correct description. Bed 1: Queen Bed 2: Queen Bed 3: Queen Bed 4: Queen + futon 4wd is required to access this home in winter This home is located in the Old Timberline Gated Community where you will have access to two lakes, and exclusive access to Dolly Sods trail head as well as access to Canaan Valley Wild Life Trail heads and miles of maintained trails around the conservancy and lakes within the community. All Canaan Realty guests have complimentary access to the privately owned Mirror Lake Recreation Area. Enjoy fishing, canoeing, swimming, hiking, biking and more! Canoes, pedal boat, kayaks, SUP boards, life jackets and oars are provided at no additional charge to our guests. Woodhaven is located within 5 miles of Mirror Lake....

a lovely stay and home

We all really enjoyed the cabin and it's location. Everything in the cabin was very nice. Overall it was a great experience. We only had a few minor issues. The were mice droppings throughout a lot of the kitchen drawers, the oven had not been cleaned out (it began to smoke immediately when we turned it on), several living room light bulbs were burned out. Thankfully there were some spare light bulbs provided but not nearly enough, we ended up buying some to replace the rest. The thermostat was not especially user friendly, but like I said those were minor, but everything else was very nice. Plenty of clean towels, blankets, etc. The hot tub was great. We liked the gated entry point. I would defintely stay at again. I have stayed with Timberline cabins in the past and never had a bad stay anytime.

My aunt and I stayed here a week. It was so comfortable and was exactly what we needed. A safe, peaceful place to relax and make our home base for various day trips in the area. We went to Blackwater Falls, Cass Railroad, Elkins for the Gandy Dinner Theater. It was simply perfect. We enjoyed our privacy, and the ability to cook our own meals.
I would definitely rent this home again. We were really lucky to experience the beauty of this area.

Everything was fine except 2 things...there was dog hair throughout the whole house...even on the pillows of some of the beds. Also i pointed out to the property manager the amenities stated pool and spa. There is no pool and/or community pool. The management appeared to not really care

This was our third trip to this home with Friends. 9 of us stayed this year and we had more than enough space for everyone . The kitchen, living room and dining area are great for large groups. We had plenty of room to eat and play games. The location to Dolly Sods is wonderful for hiking. We will be back!

The house with it’s layout, fire pit and hot tub make this house a great place to stay. Another great reason to stay here is a short drive to the top of the mountain and you can hike into Dolly Sods. The only issue we found was the house was not well prepped nor cleaned. There was an empty paper towel tube and an empty soap bottle next to the kitchen sink. The bottom few steps had substantial lint and hair. We located the vacuum which was full of dog hair. Even with the lack of cleaning which we took care of, we would definitely stay here again. The only other recommendation I would give is to extend the roof over the hot tub. We really enjoyed it, but when the wind blew the snow off the roof, it was extremely cold on our heads.

We ad a great weekend at te property. The house inneat and very roomy. We had a lot of fun playing shuffle board. Enjoyed the hot tub after a day of skiing. Mostly well equipped, but could use a few items in the kitchen.

This was the perfect winter weekend getaway for us. We loved the location, the space, the fireplace, the hot tub and the privacy. We will definitely be back.

The house was as described in the write up and in the reviews. What a beautiful mountain setting in a secluded and convenient environment.
Some of the amenities are showing their age and are borderline ready for updates.
Unfortunately, the dryer was not working, and it was recently replaced, no fault of the owner, which made the cleaning process more challenging for the staff. Therefore, the home wasn't as clean as we thought it should be upon our arrival.
We had a good stay and the cabin was very convenient to Timberline for skiing and to many local hiking areas.

Very nice house and a good location. The house was very clean. The shuffle board and hot tub were great to have. Nice views off the back deck at sunset. The access to Dolly Sods at the top of the ridge was great for us. We would rent this house again. Thank you.

However my overall trip was fantastic. The pictures on line does not give the home the justice it deserves. The home was very well stocked, modern but comfy, and pretty much everything provided. I will be a repeat customer

I really liked that they had puzzles available and finished a fun bird one during our stay. It snowed after our 2nd night there and it was a beautiful sight to see being in the woods up on the mountain. The drive up and driveway is a little steep in places, but we made it fine in our SUV. There are neighboring cabins, but they are spread out enough in a thick wooded area that I would consider it private enough for those that like privacy. We would definitely stay here again!

Everything was perfect. Clean house, very large rooms. Heat worked well, very comfortable beds, the hot tub was very relaxing. Showers and water had good pressure. The Canaan realty were very nice. TV in upstairs bedroom was very fuzzy, but downstairs had many options for shows. I did break my leg climbing Seneca rocks. And had to cut our trip short, but look forward to coming back when I’m fully healed. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house.

This property deserves more than 5 stars. It is clean, nicely decorated with moose/bear.

This property was even better than anticipated. Grabbing the keys was easy, everything was clean onsite, and all the amenities were in excellent shape (hot tub, grill). Even the diversity and quality of kitchen items were well above average for a rental property. We'd seriously consider coming back here.

This property was even better in person, pictures don't do it justice! It is so spacious and open. The property was very clean, and all the appliances were in working order. It is in a great location that is a short drive to Davis/Thomas, Dolly Sods, and the state park.

Great spring break
We had a wonderful relaxing stay over Mother's Day weekend. Hiking and enjoying the hot tub was awesome. The house is clean and cozy. We will definitely be back.

Property is even better than represented in the photos, very clean, cozy, and perfect for one or two families looking to escape the hubbub. The hot tub on the deck was fantastic and the indoor shuffleboard was a lot of fun. Good WiFi too. Our only hiccup was the realty company who manages the rental, or maybe just the one person we dealt with, she didn’t really seem to know how to get to the cabin very well (said it was about 15 minutes south on the highway from the realty office..... it’s more like two minutes and then ten minutes FROM the highway back to the house) and did not provide any check out instructions. We ended up finding the house (after going way past it) just fine and dropped the key in the key pick up box when we left and all was well. A great weekend exploring Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, and Dolly Sods.... a TON of great hiking in the area!!!

We had a great family week together. Saw views like never before as we did alot of hiking and looked out over lots of mountain tops. Leaves were at their peek and so beautiful. Cabin was warm and cozy and felt like home for the week.
