Planning a group getaway to the lake? Then Sunny Days Lake Retreat is the perfect old-school home away from home. This rental is combined of the main house plus two casitas, giving it a fun, fishing cabin feel. These homes feature a total of 17 beds overall, so there is plenty of room for everyone here. There is a boat dock you can use, so feel free to bring your boat or rent one nearby! Take a stroll down the pier. Jump into the gorgeous lake, or float rather on the provided lily pad. In the evening, you can relax under the shaded patio, play cornhole, and even watch the Texas sunset. There are also plenty of outdoor dining tables available, so plan for a few lakeside picnics! Take advantage of the lake for endless fun on and in the water! Fishing is allowed along the retaining wall and from the pier, so don't forget your tackle. Rent boats and other watercraft from places like Splash Boat Rentals or Wave Chasers, both within a couple miles of this home. Sample some local cuisine at one of the many restaurants in downtown Kingsland where you can also indulge in some retail therapy. Or go on an exciting adventure and explore some unique underground hideouts at Longhorn Cavern State Park, less than 10 miles from your front door. Things to Know Internet access is not currently available at this property. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the nightly pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting "Yes" to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The nightly fee ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. Dock details: Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Beware when and if booking this property. The pictures depict the interior as crisply clean, and it most definitely is not. The pictures (I'm guessing) were taken right after the property was painted. The actual condition of the interior is grimy dirt on doors and window sills and shows neglect of even simple upkeep. I cleaned some of the doors myself which were just disgusting. Numerous light bulbs are burned out and need replacement. Some light fixtures are just a single bare bulb. Mini blinds are torn and broken. Other blinds lack the handle to open or close them. Both aluminum screen doors are filthy and flimsy and do not close behind you. That's annoying when you're trying to keep out flies and mosquitoes. Most of the mattresses are terribly uncomfortable...like you're sleeping on the box springs rather than a mattress. I added a cushion of 4 beach towels that I brought to the mattress I was sleeping on in an effort to make it more comfortable. They didn't help. Finally, I stripped the sheets off the bed to use on a futon instead. The bare mattress I stripped was dirty, stained, and torn. None of the mattresses have mattress covers either. The one king bed has a foam mattress with a permanent dip in it. Neither bathroom in the cabins have hot water plumbed to the sink....cold water only. The hot water pipe is not even there; it's been removed and capped. Neither refrigerator in the cabins is frost free and both are in bad need of being defrosted. The exterior of one of those refrigerators has large and numerous rust spots and missing paint. In addition, my family and I spent a good hour when we arrived cleaning exterior chairs and tables that were covered in a dry, sticky, black sap from the trees.
If you look through the pictures, you will notice a hot tub on the property. There was no information about it in the property amenities, so I called to ask a couple of questions. I was told the hot tub had been removed. So, I passed that info on to my family. Upon arrival, the hot tub was indeed there...nice surprise, but not everyone had appropriate attire based on the incorrect info that it had been removed.
Also, I requested an earlier check in than 4 PM day of arrival and that request was immediately denied. However, on the morning of our check in day, I received a text that an earlier check in was available at mid morning. At that point, it was too late for any of us to adjust our travel plans to take advantage of that.
To say my family and I were disappointed in the condition and cleanliness of this property is an understatement. Overall, I'd say Motel 6 is much better. Be forewarned.

We loved that the house was big enough to accommodate up to 21 people. It had ever We needed to make this trip so enjoyable. Mostly the view was just amazing! We will definitely be back again!

Access to the water and covered docks for your boat. Any maintenance issues where taken care of as soon as possible. We were even given times when maintenance would be showing up. Plenty of room for everyone. Love this house it was perfect for our needs.

This was a perfect property for a large family looking for a lake front rental. It matched our needs perfectly and we hope to return!

This home was perfect for my big family getaway. The many beds and rooms were such an amazing factor considering we usually all bunk together and as a family of 16 you could see why we loved this home so much! The walking distance from the water was perfect! We spent all day outside and on the water. We would definitely rent this home again for another lake trip.

What I loved most was the local manager checked in with me the first day and responded timely with any questions. I felt confident that any issues I had would be handled quickly with no problems.
Now about the vaca rental, it is very shabby. The pictures online do not depict the condition of the home, it has a lot of wear and tear. However, overall I give it 4 stars. It totally accommodated my entire family. There were 15 of us that stayed in the home and there was plenty of room. The location is also a plus. A private dock right on the LBJ and hottub. The property advertises a suana but it was not working. When we arrived it was full of life jackets and spider webs. It would be a nice addition if it worked, as advertised. The kitchen is also a nice size, big enough to prepare meals for a large group. If your looking for all the bells and whistles, this place is not for you. If your looking for a place to stay and enjoy vacation with family and/or friends this place is perfect. Definitely a place we'd rent again.

Family Trip

Amazing
We rented this with family and friends. All the kids had so much fun and the people staying next door were friendly. Everyone enjoyed playing volleyball!. We will most definitely be back sometime!

Not the best
The house is very dilapidated the pictures don’t show the cracked windows or torn screen doors holes in the walls and cockroaches in the bathroom. The cottages bathrooms need serious repair as well. It would have been nice if the patio was blown clear of sticks and twigs before arriving so we didn’t hurt our feet. The trash situation was bad as well. When we arrived the cans near the street were already full. No internet was horrible I had 0 cell service and couldn’t have made an 911 call if it was needed.
On the bright side there are plenty of beds if you need to use the futons however, you may not have sheets the lawn was nice and the hot tub was a great feature and the boat lift was really good. Not sure I’d rent this place again for a few bucks more there are plenty of better places

Huge grassy yard and great lake access
The big grassy yard and lake access are what make this place great. The dock is great and the swimming area is shallow enough that most kids can touch bottom. House and out-rooms are clean yet basic with an old-school lake house feel.

One for the books...
Pretty great trip! Our group cannot complain. The location was perfect in all aspects (town, lake). We only had one issue- if this place can sleep 20 people cooking pans should also be able to feed 20. 😉

Beautiful view
The property had lots of space inside and outside. It was equipped with everything we needed. Lots of room to sleep and play. We thought not having Wi-Fi would be rough, but there was plenty of things to do, we didn’t miss it much. We will look at booking this property again.

Pandemic lake retreat
The location is fantastic. It’s right on the lake with a huge grassy area and a brand new dock. The house itself via huge with a number of beds and bedrooms. We did not nearly use all of the space. The place is not as fancy or updated as the neighbors, but for the price, it met our needs. I do have a few suggestions. The barbecue grill caught on fire because it looked like it had not been cleaned in forever. Also, new pots and pans are needed. If you are on a tighter budget or have a large group, you may want to give this place a look

The whole family enjoyed the place. I would have given a 5 star rating. But the trash was over ran and stunk so bad from previous people that stayed. And the pictures do not match the place at all, we ended up having to rent the house next to the cabins, to fit all 18 guest.

I loved the house! Very roomy the only thing is that it was semi cleaned, there was a little trash left behind and some food in the sauna (we didn’t use it) but other than that the view was beautiful and our vacation was fun!

Left 2 days early because
When we first got here everything seemed in working order. Then the next day the ac broke had to call to have them send out an ac guy to fix it and he as informed the ac shocked him when he touched it multiple times and with us having kids around that wasn’t something we wanted to hear. Then the 2 small houses neither one of them had hot water. They were fixed very quickly with no issues. The chair in one of the houses broke the min we sat in them. We then realized when we opened the washer the spinner in the middle wasn’t turning and was broken and not washing our clothes. They did come pick up our clothes Tuesday morning and take them and wash them which was nice but at that time we had already been there 8 days with no washer. The extra bathroom with the tub the door locks and locked the kids in it to where we had to pick the lock multiple times. When the kids wanted to use the jacuzzi we opened it up and it was full of dirt and debri but the lady came and drained it and cleaned it. The sauna doesn’t work at all. The coffee makers are iffy on working. Was not told when the trash picked up at first so missed the first pick up and that didn’t work for a house of this many people and only one trash can. Beds are super uncomfortable except the bunk beds. Internet service is absolutely horrible. Whether you have your own WiFi or using your phone it’s not good. With some love this house would be great but with one thing after another happening it out a bad taste in my mouth.
