We arrived about two hours early and the property manager was not extremely friendly about an early check in. We are ally did not know that we would be arriving early and a 5pm check in is very late to begin with. The house was overall clean but the kitchen needed some work. There was a plate that has food on it in the cabinet. We refrained from using any dishes. We also found a cockroach in the main bedroom. That was not exactly ideal. Otherwise the house was clean. The beds were not very comfortable. However, there was plenty of space and beds. We enjoyed our stay.

I was supposed to receive the key codes via email the night before I arrived. That email never came. I tried to contact the host the day of arrival. I called and texted numerous times. I had 7 teenage boys waiting with me in the driveway of the house and called VRBO. Two separate agents attempted to get in touch with the host and she never answered their calls either. After sitting at the property for over an hour in a storm with 7 boys, VRBO sent us to a nearby hotel. The host contacted me late that night and stated that she was sorry, but she was out of the country. She asked if we wanted to go back to the property, but it was close to midnight and I told her that we were already settled and had to be up early in the morning for a baseball tournament. She only refunded $300 of the $850 that was paid because she stated that she offered for me to go back (after we were settled in around 11 pm).

We had a nice stay at this uniquely renovated cottage. We loved seeing how the owners had decorated this cozy spot. We loved sitting on the porch, using the TV for our toddler to watch cartoons, and appreciated the decor and space for kids. We were disappointed that the dishwasher was under repair during our stay and unusable, which was difficult for the number of adults in our party. The kitchen was also lacking some items (e.g., only three coffee cups), but we made it work. The bathrooms had everything we needed. This property is close to restaurants and the farmer's market. We enjoyed strolling around nearby. One note -- the back bedroom with the double bed has quite a hard mattress! Just an FYI for a sleeper who prefers some cushioning. :)

The home was extremely charming. Our only disappointment was that it wasn’t clean and one of the bedrooms had a heavy odor, so it was unusable. In the property owners defense, she did offer to send the cleaning crew, our stay was so short we didn’t have time.
