Spent the most amazing Christmas here, very peaceful and cosy.
Location and fire were the best things for us.
A few kitchen utensils that I use weren’t part of the kitchen so I would take my own if/when I go back. But I’m nitpicking. What was supplied was adequate.

Excellent good value base for exploring Mt Errigal and Glenveagh with all the facilities you need
Very enjoyable 3 night stay stay at Mullaghderg and would recommend. We wanted to hike Mt Errigal with the kids and visit the national park, both of which are a 20/25 min drive on good roads from the house. Two very good size double bedrooms with wardrobes upstairs as well as good size upstairs shower room with toilet and two doubles (one double room on the small side) and a small single downstairs with another good sized showroom with toilet. We were 2 adults and 2 kids so didn’t use upstairs at all, which is accessed via the spiral staircase. Main tv with Netflix and English channels in the living room and another tv in the larger downstairs double with some English channels was a nice surprise. 3 comfy two-seater couches in living room and dining table with 5 chairs so plenty of space for us. Good Wi-Fi throughout. Books and a few games for adults and kids too. All very clean and I appreciated that essentials like toilet roll, washing up liquid, hand soap etc were provided as they aren’t always. Local beach is beautiful and the kids enjoyed climbing on the rocks. Inclement weather meant we didn’t sit out on the deck area but I imagine it is a lovely addition in sunnier weather.
Mattresses could have been more comfortable but completely acceptable at this price point. Not a con but just be aware that a car is really essential - eg the local pub is about 1km away and while the distance is walkable there are no footpaths etc. We were there on a rather cold and wet Paddy’s weekend in March and found the living room area a little cold so would recommend stocking up on fuel for the open fire if visiting during cold weather.

Peaceful getaway near a stunning beach
A log fire, stormy nights, peaceful days, beautiful beach only a minute away. What's not to like?
Not a problem for us, but if you have mobility issues, you're sleeping downstairs due to the spiral staircase.

Really beautiful location, with great hosts and comfortable beds.
Location was absolutely perfect for exploring the area, and the host was so kind and welcoming, giving recommendations for beaches and local sights. Bedrooms are really comfortable, with beautiful views over the back from the upstairs rooms especially. Showers are great and clean. The living room and kitchen were small but comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed, including Netflix and a large selection of books and local information. There were also beach toys, plentiful blankets and a washing machine and tumble dryer. The garden and deck were great to allow us to watch the children play whilst having a coffee or glass of wine.
Staircase is a great space saver but a little steep / dangerous, especially for small children. Again, only an issue for those with little ones but a gate on the property entrance would be a welcome addition, the door does open quickly onto a main / fast road - minor issues and only a problem for those of us with toddlers!

2 fantastic assets to Donegal - Mullaghderg Banks & Mícheál Choilm Mac Giolla Easbuig
Absolutley idealic setting, near the village of Kincasslagh. A real gem with four double bedrooms, and one ground-floor single, it sleeps nine people comfortably and has a ground-floor shower room, which was perfect for my disabled sister. We had a fantastic Easter week with all our family able to stay.We loved the open-plan living room and kitchen-dining area. The open fire was lovely when the night chill set in. They have a newly built decking area, which makes the most of the beautiful views of the many lakes, and was a real sunspot for the sun-worshipers. Mullaghderg Banks is an excellent property near some of the most stunning beaches and coastal walks of the Gaeltacht in Ireland. Definetly need transport (there is a local taxi bus which you can ring), as most of the amenities are a fair walk too, but we had the car,we travelled mostly into Annagry for shopping and some cracker pubs there, as well as Crolly, Teach Leo, Tech Tassie, Duffy's, Sharkeys to name but a few, and we deffintely perfered it to the local Bonners (but thats to do with their service - but didnt put a damper on our holiday). We travelled over to Arranmore for the day, absolutely beautiful and would recommend. We had fantastic weather and by chance we met one of the local councillors Mícheál Choilm Mac Giolla Easbuig, a fantastic asset to Donegal in his own right, who extended hospitality that was outstanding, arranged to met with us, and showed us some amazing walks, history of the area, and even organised a tour of the Crolly distillary (which is yet to open to the public)... deffintley be revisting the Crolly Distillary again :). Mícheál, also brought us to the local community centre where he prepared a lovely dinner for us all, and explained his aspirations for the local Gaeltacht area, We met some fantastic people had a fantastic break and will definately be returning hopefully soon.
Nothing - Everthing was outstanding- It would be really useful to have some coat hooks on the back of the bedroom doors ( like the one in the shower-room), especially, in 2 of the bedrooms which didnt have any storage - it'd be really usefull to hang clothes on, especially as you kndly provided loads of hangers :)

Truly wonderful stay.
The owner was lovely, the house was great. A wonderful fire alight when we arrived on a cold December evening, blissful ☺ Couldn't have asked for more.
